So now the bomb still exploded, so the loop will rewind sometime soon. But when the police gets them next, Xiao HeYun is going to be so much more suspect than ever before - people saw him get off the bus that immediately exploded, covered in blood. Even if nobody survived to tell what he was doing on the bus before getting off, the videographer was still sending out a live, wasn't he? So the whole world could have seen what happened.

Will the police finally tell them something workable to use in the next loop? I think the only way to stop it is to have Mme Bomber not set off the bomb.

Also, how did she know how to make a pressure cooker bomb and do they really explode so powerfully?! I first believed she had a gas cylinder set up with some sparky thing, which would explain the whole huge firebomb, but a pressure cooker exploding seems to be based on shrapnels (if one loads it with pieces of metal beforehand). Or so I read on wiki. Maybe that's where she read how to make one, too. Would she have spent all those years preparing for a chance to kill her child's killer?...

3 more days til the next subbed ep... I'm probably going to crack and spoil myself on the next raw episode at least T_T

I only (randomly) watched a scene in the later episodes, when he's toasting the ghost of his old friend/mentor. Just for that random scene (I have NO idea what the story is about, and I won't look it up - though I do know it's just season 1, so there's supposedly more to come. Sometime. Who knows) - but just for that random scene, I'll be watching the whole drama (or season).

It's been days and I keep thinking about it. That's how I know I'll like this one.

HaeYoung asking SooHyun to save his brother, in Signal, and what happened next. I was so broken by that scene I was in tears each time I remembered it, for a while. It's the worst to have hope and have it crushed.

The Nameless showing the Emperor he really understood what Under Heaven meant, and the Emperor also understanding what he had to do anyway, in Hero. (That's a masterpiece, if you haven't watched that movie, do so!)

KangDoo learning about his problem, keeping it all together for the sister, and then breaking down when he's alone, in Just Between Lovers. I am a complete fan of Lee Jun Ho for that drama, and I haven't gotten to The Red Sleeve yet, either.

SeonHo waiting for SeoHwi outside the palace's door, in My Country The New Age. Actually, both of them coming there, all prepared to do what they had to do, fully knowing how it would end. But mostly SeonHo waiting there, all bloodied, being a living shield for his friend. Dammit, onions.

And so, so many scenes from My Mister have the mysterious property of affecting the tear ducts. Like DongHoon wanting to lay there and just die, but deciding he couldn't, because he didn't have good underwear on (related to an earlier discussion with his brothers). That drama is a minefield for people who get emotional easy.

But yeah, as I said, I get tearful when seeing the Brachiosaurus in Jurassic Park for the first time. Or when The Gael starts in the last few minutes of The Last of the Mohicans (and particularly when Alice makes her choice). Or when the soldiers shoot Two Socks in Dances with the Wolves. And even when Frodo looks sadly at Sam and (I READ THE BOOKS, I KNOW IT WON'T HAPPEN BUT STILL!!) he seems to decide to let go...

I'm one who gets teared up with the swell of music to remember scenes that really impressed me - happy or sad. Like for just one example - Merlin's (1998) Age of Magic intro - by Trevor Jones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1L8_zQAkKs I've watched that miniseries eons ago, and it still never fails to bring a tear in my eye when it's used again in the ending - "There is no more. This is the end of magic."

That said, there are some drama scenes when despite the set up and music and build up of the scene, I remained unmoved (appreciative of the effort, but not really in tears.) And then there are the others... SPOILERS AHEAD. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

There's a whole list of places you can watch it, and most of them are using their own TL. The Netflix one (Chinese - to - English) doesn't seem that bad, except that I first watched it in a fan TL and the Netflix one tends to skip over some language details (like titles being descriptive, and some words are just used differently - like the famous 畢生知己 line; Netflix has it as lifelong confidante, fan TL has it as soulmate, and neither manages to get the whole nuance - that one person who knows you better than you know yourself, the one who inspires you to be better just by existing close to you.)

I'd say the Youtube WeTV version sounds pretty good, though, at least in English. Haven't seen the Viki one. (Edit: also, the Chinese voice dubbing is PERFECT, this shouldn't be watched in any other dub than the original language.)

RE: the drama. It's based on a novel (a danmei/BL novel, that is) and the novel is uncensored, whereas the drama is. You won't get more than strong hints at the true relationship between the main characters, but yes, it is what you already glimpsed. There is an animation version (donghua) too, that has a bit less censorship, and if you want the whole story, the novel is the way. But the drama is plenty revealing, if you can read between the lines.

I don't know how far ahead you are already, but the first few episodes are the ones setting up a lot of the following plot. The darker and more epic side of the story develops from around episode 12 to 15 onwards, and doesn't relent once it gets going.

The gore & horror - well, it could be worse :D There's not a lot of it, anyway, considering the original source, and it's pretty cleaned out because some types of subplots aren't allowed by Chinese censorship. But there'll be some, and there's a lot of heartbreak coming with it, too. And it's all worth it.

The story and characters are what will grip you, if you're so inclined, Though I have to say, the cinematography and music are also amazing. It definitely doesn't hurt that most of the MCs are good-looking people either, or that the sets and costumes are gorgeous. As a fan of the book, I can tell you the drama does deserve all the accolades it received and respects the true heart of the original story (despite some changes and the sometimes not great CGI. Which reminds me, there'll be sword fighting too soon enough :D)

I hope you grow to love it in the end, as most of the commenters here did. Have fun with it :D

So theory no. 1: the loop is tied to him, not to her. The longer he lives, the longer the loop. She got caught in it and is the first to remember, but I guess this time - the 6th - the loop is long enough for him to remember what happens, too.

Can't wait to see the rest of the episodes TLed. It looks very high quality, and it's rather short (by cdrama standards anyway), so it has the potential to be a great scifi series :D

Wow, the first episode is amazing!

It only took less than half an hour for him to go from "this guy is a psycho, something's wrong with him" to "yo, psycho, you're my best and most trusted friend, let's do crime solving together!"

Why?!

After he opened the door in his memory, K was completely gone for the rest of the episode. At least that was interesting.

The Heart Mender and the strange lawyer-ex-prosecutor with the crazy mom came back, I like them.

But something's changed, and not for the better, IMHO, with the flow of the drama. I hope the final act is worth it.

What a 180 turn for RSY in just 20 minutes of drama :(

Like, OGT and Jae Seong just... clicking together as a team and having a sweet moment here and there wasn't too bad in the previous eps, but this time OGT is JS's "wife". That being said by JS's actual wife. And repeated by RSY too. I get it. I got it the first time, loud and clear. But it cheapens the whole thing somehow. IMHO it worked way better when it was left unspoken - OGT peeling off apples for JS in the hospital was way more cute than JS's wife calling him a wife, too. It's demeaning to both characters, they're becoming caricatures of bromancey fellow cops.

Then the whole truck thing with RSY and K. They're supposed to be the same person, what IS IT with the dog&pony show? They won't be in any kind of romance with each other - other than RSY's narcissism - so why would they need to compliment their OWN ****, or play it so crassly on the topic of having to go to the bathroom where no bathroom is available? That's such a school-level joke. I really expected more, because the drama was a bit more leveled than that, despite the crazyness.

And that brings me to the DID. WHAT? Now RSY is supposed to go to another shady psychologist who has his own agenda (you could see him being a main antagonist from the door to his office, LOL) and what? Talk about his feelings? In front of a camera? I have this impression the new guy doesn't give a damn about his "patients's" privacy. Why would RSY accept it? Why would the police send him to this guy, when he's not in any way affiliated to a professional office of the police?! I very much preferred the Heart Mender, he at least - despite having lost his licence - showed he deeply CARED for RSY. Even in a hilarious manner.

At least they got rid of the corrupted Narc, though after that the love plot came out of the blue somewhat.

I'm starting to be a bit uncomfortable with the pretty callous manner the drama presents some things, from DID to bromance. It's supposed to be hilarious, but I keep getting thrown out of the scene every time they jump the shark...

For something that's supposed to be based on a real case, this is a copy-cat of 12 Angry Men that really missed some easy marks with me.

First off, it didn't know if it wanted to be serious or a comedy - that music didn't fit any scene and kept grating on my nerves.

Second, if the movie wanted to portray the SK legal system in a positive mark, it managed to imply basically the complete opposite (shoddy investigation, shoddy defence/prosecution, strange involvement of the jury in the actual discovery of how things happened.) The only thing that sounds about right is that innocence must be presumed and guilt has to be proven.

For a cast pretty studded with known actors, it didn't manage to stand out a lot.

The good parts - well, it's a feel good story in the end, so I guess that's okay. And it was an enjoyable throwback to 12 Angry Men, as I said, though that does make me wonder how much it actually resembles that first jury trial case it's based on, LOL.

Edit So I googled it - the first trial by jury in SK did happen in 2008 and it involved a man in his 20s who robbed a woman (70 years old) in her own home, to pay for some debts he and his family had, or whatever. He admitted to his guilt, there was no murder involved, the jury found him unanimously guilty but recommended a short/light sentence due to his circumstances. The judges agreed with the jury and so it ended.

This movie then IS basically a SK take on 12 Angry Men much more than a reflection of any actual cases in SK, LOL.

I got hooked from WWX standing on the cliff and letting go, LOL. Basically from the first half-minute of the drama. Because well. Xiao Zhan and that degree of desperation.

When WWX is recalled by MXY, and I got to actually see him looking cute and that wide million-watts smile, it was just icing on the cake :D

What can I say, I like a pretty face and a tortured hero. I'm shallow that way. :D

I watched it last year LOL. It's one of my favourites, actually (despite the suspension of disbelief parts, and the parts left unsolved - like what happened to DHS's mother in the end? My theory is that she's his father's first victim, but the drama doesn't say anything about it to clear it up.)

I also actually really liked the ending. The fact is - Hyun-Soo basically dies. His body just keeps on breathing. His whole BHS persona and all the memories he's created under that name are wiped out, so he's mostly a blank slate left to take up with Ji Won again, if he so feels like. And he can do so while NOT lying to her about who he really is - the person (probably on the autism spectrum) who can't understand or recognize emotions, but is capable of feeling them, their kid's father (she would be too young to understand if there's any significant change with him, anyway), a person who isn't afraid to be a little cold if he needs to be and someone who doesn't carry the whole blame&guilt for things he never did.

Because TBH, DHS in his BHS persona really had a lot of weight to carry around.

And I really liked how the memory wipe worked - the whole memories-to-dust scene was done perfectly IMHO. I was afraid he'd get his memories back in the end (because that would have cheapened the whole use of the trope in that kind of ending) but they did stick with it and gave it meaning after all. I appreciated they had the guts to keep with it to the bitter end (because yet, it felt a bit bitter, too. After all, DHS struggled so hard only to lose it all - except it didn't feel like he lost everything in the end.) If he had died instead - well then I would've sharpened my pitchfork and readied my torch :D

So I don't know, the whole drama - including the ending - did work for me very well. I do like LJG a whole lot, and he did his outmost in this role, so that may be a part of it, but he really IS that good an actor, and the role fit him very well. I hope his next drama is as good as this one, I've been missing him for the past year :D

It's not huge once you get invested LOL. It's one of the most bingeable dramas I've ever watched.

Be warned the first two eps set up the present timeline, so if you get confused with the names and character introductions, don't worry, they'll be revisited. The first half of the series is going to start at the beginning (in a very long flashback) and lead you to those first two eps in a logical manner, once you're in. Don't skip them - by the time you're in the present again, they'll make a lot of sense.

The novel it's based on is danmei (yes, that's BL). But the story moves on its own accord until the romance blooms in the last few chapters, so if BL is something not your thing, you can pretend they're just soulmates in the platonic sense, LOL, because Chinese censorship of the drama will help you with that, a lot. If you do like BL... it's pretty obvious, what's going on. Well, for the watchers, not for one of the main characters, who's been born with the nickname Captain Oblivious LOL.

Erm... I didn't get to invent mouth-to-mouth LOL. That's how they transfer SOME air to people who are in danger or drowning and can't be pushed out of the water immediately or something. It's also a basic stage in CPR anyway (which she also gives him once he's out, but he's already not breathing on his own at that point), beside cardiac massage and other measures.

If this were real life, and he were really drowning (and saved in the last possible second), the chances of him surviving would already be in the less-than-10% numbers. IF he survived, he would also stand a good chance to have some brain damage, too. If you want to be picky about CPR and dramatic rescues, pick on those statistics, LOL.

RE: If I think it helps... Well, I know the real-life statistics of CPR success, and ALL the movies and dramas I've watched have those statistics basically reversed. So yes, suspension of disbelief is required. But they're not actually lying either - it COULD work, given a number of conditions were met. Unless you want to nit-pick at each and every thing - but it's fiction so they can get ignore some hard facts from time to time. This is not a medical hard-fact drama.

Much harder to suspend disbelief, for me, was with the fast recuperation of BHS from his years-long coma than DHS's almost-drowning... But again, this is not a medical drama, so there.
