Ahh.. much like another upcoming work of Hu Ge, 人间有味 (no official English working title yet, let alone Mdl page), with Li Qin highlighting the past days & Yang Caiyu covering the present time.

If anyone's wondering, this young man here is the very actor who portrays the role of Kawaguchi Satoshi (Maiko's devoted husband) in the 2025's highest rated C-drama, with 8.6 (currently at 8.8) on Douban, Man's Inhumanity to Man..

He was soooo good in it.

This tv series is more than just another well made C-drama to me, my country happens to be 1 of those nations that was once oppressed by the Japanese Imperial Army, & so to see how things went down for Chinese people at the time truly made me recall the sufferings our ancestors had to put up with, & became the reminder how inhumane human can get for their so-called greater good excuse.

It just happened real quick. I was & still am confused.
But most of all, curious cuz things were abt to get real serious on eps 9. But now it felt like am, quite literally, being kept in the dark.
But am glad at least you'd finished it.

Been wishing, too,that someone who had downloaded the entire set of episodes would consider uploading them on mega or gdrive 😔

I've been watching this for the past week on Youku's official Youtube channel up to eps 9 last night, yet when i tried to click on the 10th eps just now, it says the uploader hasnt made the video available in my country..
Like it worked perfectly fine less than 24 hrs ag, & suddenly it's not working at all today, like the entire tv series can't be played.
So i tried the captionfy option someone kindly put here, & it also wouldnt play.

So, should anyone got the link to this tv series, i'd be much grateful if you're willing to share it with me through message.

So, am currently watching Man's Inhumanity to Man (highly recommended), & this young lady whom i first saw in Unseen Sister (Zhao Liying & Xin Zhilei), officially secured my attention with her acting approach & capability upon watching eps 3 last night, cuz she carried her role as Chiyoko like the character was custom made only for her.

If you think she's a just another pretty face, you're so wrong.
She caught my eyes initially cuz she somehow looks like Zhao Jin Mai, but after MItM, i realize she's a lot more than just her appearance for sure.

In this exceptional tv series, she portrays a Japanese woman who happens to speak Chinese rather well & wait for it..Korean.

But the best part abt it is she got both languages spoken right not just the way it sounded, but the way they were expressed in motion & emotion. And so i half jokingly told myself, "All that's left now is her speaking English." 🫣 Only to have found out less than half an hour ago when i checked out her mdl page, to my utmost surprise, turns out, she's an American. 😅

Looking forward to see more of her projects in the near future. Quite the talent you are, Vivienne..
Hope you'll get to do more leading roles up ahead, & if possible with another immensely talented actor in MItM, Zhang Yu (Dying to Survive) 🌸

Ahaha.. it clicked so well with me, even the villains in Breaking Re-entering are funny.. i mean, not everyday can you see Wu Kangren doing such funny roles 🤣 dude was so unserious for real, hard to believe he was the same person who was on Copycat Killer..

and the bromance they had felt sincere & wholesome. 😌 i remember still laughing at some of its scenes even weeks after watching it.

Bath Buddy was pretty decent for comedy, that bit when Peng Yuchang mistook the situation with the gangsters, & went "How can i just walk away?" before proceeding with the most 'practical' response still lives inside my head 😂

Havent seen JoL yet, but i thought it was heavily politics (am ok with it, it's just i've got nuff of it stashed away on my movie watchlist), but surprisingly it has some humour, too!?? Okay then, saved.

Actors/actresses can also be casted for their popularity, isntead of their acting quality.
That draws in views & investments.
Unless you're part of the casting team, i dont think you can confidently declare that the writer chose her as the lead solely because she is respected for her acting skill.

Also, praised by who to be exact? Cuz i havent encountered any articles specifically praised her performance in that drama.
Also, you need to secure major awards for best actress or best supporting actress to actually earn that chance of being respected in the film/tv series industry, i mean it's not like she's gon stay in the 'new actress' area forever right..

Which is why i wish her some real & proper growth as a real actress, who arent afraid of sacrificing their good looks to depict various characters seamlessly.

Even if they don't, am sure they wont let us down w/ their performances.

That remains to be seen.

For now let's hope she can portray the role convincingly.. After all, she hasn't done that many critically acclaimed projects, or won big major awards in film category, right !?
At least compared with her fellow '95 liner actresses who had won Baeksang or Blue Dragon for their work in movies, namely Kim Da Mi or Go Min Si..

But this is a good start for her to show the general audience that she's more than just another pretty face., & and to see if she's indeed worthy of that top actress moniker & the respect (along with critics) that follows.

Now am intrigued to see this 1..

Go Yoon Jung would have to seriously double down on her acting skill to keep up with those brilliant actors.

Cuz 'either' Tony Leung would always elevate the quality of any projects w/ their respective profound performances, so having both TLs in the same project would def be something to look forward.

Bruh..comedy is taken for granted completely..
It's mainly served as a garnish in other genres, like you wouldnt even notice its existence if it was removed.. as if it aint as cool as thriller or romance genre..& yes, they easily labeled everything comedy, which gradually saturate the very easence of comedy itself which is making one laugh from beginning to the end of the movie/tv series, & beyond.

True pure comedy is a much harder to make than most people think, the well made ones got you in stitches even days after watchin them, it's like making a chair.. just because it looks like one, don't mean it can be comfortably used..

Gimme your recs, too, kay.. am currently on a quest for some solid C-comedy tv series..
