Ok so I survived 55. I liked it. Mainly because of Xu Kai's character and also his families. I'm really liking…
I don’t think you can tbh, don’t think the comments are set up like that. Usually people just write a spoiler warning and use spaces so you can scroll past if you don’t want to keep reading.
XD ignore that horribly obvious comment, when someone so purposely misunderstands you they’re always doing it to get a rise out of you. Too many ppl these days thrive on feeling like they just proved themselves to be better than someone else. You were very clear in what you meant about the Korean dialogue ^^
Okayyyyy…. I was not expecting that twist near the end. I really have to congratulate the writers for that one. When Jiang He took LMX body for himself I was actually shocked! Didn’t see it coming in any way, I was safe in my absolute and certain belief that Jiang He was a quiet, good guy who just wanted to heal people. I was also sure that he would try to stop LMX by either trying to seal him again or convincing him to change his mind somehow. But what actually happened, honestly, blew my mind just a bit. Definitely the best part of this whole drama ^^
Can someone recommend an order to watch these dramas in? I know their all lightly connected and some more than others? There are guides online I’ve looked at but I tend to trust the opinions of Mdl users tbh… ^^
Ugh… this show is… good but bad. Just FYI before you start watching you should definitely know that it’s one of those shows where every single characters motivation is solely based on protecting the ‘one’. As in the person they love.
And, you will very quickly get tired of the Righteous Path… because it’s also one of those stories where the good guys are completely unable to see the world from any other point of view but their own ‘righteous’ way. Of course this only causes them to be complete tyrants and murderers because they’re only killing for ‘justice’.
I know these are two very well loved subjects in xianxia, but like, there’s a limit for me man. I can only watch so many ppl claim that their revenge is the only justifiable one before everything everyone says just makes me roll my eyes and start to look for a different show to watch.
Also I am aware of the bad production this show suffered from, but tbh I have seen some that are so much worse it barely bothered me in this. Great editing, CGI, writing, continuity and cinematography can obviously make a show great, but it’s not necessary. If the story here hadn’t been so pointlessly repetitive concerning characters and their motivations it could have been a great show even with the bad production.
I’m giving this drama another shot… I vaguely remember dropping it last time because LZY has a fit when MQ gets the sword, isn’t it like his dads sword? Anyway I think I realised most of the plot would rely on her misunderstanding his intent and i was like fuck it not in the mood…
Tbh it’s not as annoying this time, probably because I’m used to the misunderstanding trope? I don’t know.
The only thing I find annoying about this show now is that everyone carries their giant weapons in their hands at all times… you know that guy Ah Da is the worst offender man, walking around with those giant hammers
They actually figured out and understood the poem, and went in knowing CDNZ and XR were supposed to meet and fall…
Yeah their unwillingness to consider any other possibility is the part Of the problem XD it’s because the story makes it obvious to the audience that DF marrying Chidi could be the right answer, but forces the characters to stay oblivious that’s so annoying to me XD
But, it also creates the opportunity for some very cute and interesting plot to happen in Yunmeng lake so I’ll stop complaining about it XD
I really loved the friendship between DF and CH (Xiao Run) and the further development of Jieli and Shangque in this part of the story and there’s a bunch more great stuff that happens due to it as well ^*^
They actually figured out and understood the poem, and went in knowing CDNZ and XR were supposed to meet and fall…
XD yeah I know they mention it several times, then they freak out for a few episodes trying to fix it and everyone pretends like they don’t realise that DF is actually meant to marry then kill her, because he wants to kill her. CH doesn’t want to kill her, they even say it doesn’t make sense because why would he want to kill her? letting her marry him instead of DF would have messed up the hardship. This is what I meant. I assume that a destiny book would include the immortals that are there in Yunmeng lake in the mortals poem, wouldn’t it? ^^
I get really frustrated By dramas that have ridiculously obvious twists but the characters act like they have no idea what’s going on… the whole thing with Chidis hardships and DF meeting her on that night but no one is smart enough to realise what’s going on… I can’t with writing like this. I actually thought it was quite good at first, obviously DF wants to kill her so the events up to Yunmeng lake all leading up to it is done well.
And then all of a sudden these 30,000 year old guys can’t figure out a simple poem.
This is just a small enough annoyance though. I think this show is getting way better the further it gets into the actual story. And I do understand that the characters need to be oblivious about the whole DF and Chidi thing for the plot to work…
XD omg are you a time traveler?? Why didn’t you just go all out and call me a lowly sailor? XD a bar… hey next time you wanna try to make yourself feel superiority pls leave me out of it…
You don't need to use b... word ouch.....you do know she has the mentality of child right? If you haven't seen…
I tend to swear when I need to express extreme annoyance. And I don’t need to be up to ep22 to understand that about her personality >,< it’s made pretty clear by her interaction with everyone around her, even the other fairies who are much closer to her age all have malicious intent and self serving viewpoints.
Just because a character is innocent and pure does not mean they also need to be stupid. She has plenty of time to think about her situation before they get across the river, yet she still tries to go back. I assume immortals have a survival instinct like every other living being, hers should still be working no matter how innocent she is.
Sorry I’m trying to get across that innocence and stupidly are very different and at that point she was being stupid not innocent. DF even said to her that she was a traitor now he pointed out very clearly the extremity of her situation yet she chose to ignore it… that’s stupidity.
I know it sounds like I’m trying to convince you here, I’m sorry I’m really not, I’m just explaining why I think this.
I liked this a lot. I watched 8 episodes in order all at once and it usually takes me months and months to watch any c drama because they always drag.
Then I got to the end of episode 8 and just mess with me why? The FL was annoying sure, but I’m used to FLs in c dramas acting like they’re 8 years old. But then that woman has to go and try to get back home after being outed as a traitor, almost killed then rescued in front of literally everyone by the guy who’s meant to be an evil demon. Sure sure go and explain I’m certain they’ll all just totally believe you and not try to kill you again…
Ugh I really want to like this show, the parts with the cells are so original, cute and entertaining. But the process of dating and liking someone is too different in Korea for me. I can handle it in most romances because there’s usually more stuff going on in the plot. But, this drama is just dating and relationships… all of it.
Watching Yumi acting like an obsessive stalker with BaBi is just really gross to me.
So what if he had gotten back with his ex after asking her out?? How does she actually think she has any right to be angry about something like that? He asked her out! He didn’t ask her to fucking marry him…
I’m not going to list all the other insane behaviour, it makes me angry tbh.
The one other thing in this drama that makes me roll my eyes so hard, is the pauses in dialogue. Someone asks Yumi a question and we watch her staring at that person for what feels like an hour before finally stuttering out a reply. I really hope this isn’t a performance choice made by Kim Go Eun because it’s fucking idiotic. And she does it constantly.
And I’m not talking about the parts where we see her cells discussing stuff before she answers.
Half the time ppl are talking to her or asking questions and she doesn’t say anything at all! She just stares or smiles awkwardly. It’s seriously insane. This a modern day drama set in the present about adults dating, what kind of fucking idiot acts like that?? It’s not cute or endearing it’s just fucking weird and off putting.
If I was BaBi I would literally be looking for a new job. I would seriously think she’s a serial killer.
I see I’m not the only who thinks Yeon Soo’s character in this is fucking terrible >,< I just don’t get why the writers are doing this to her? Why make your FL unlikable? I could get over her just being annoying, but she’s actually dumb as well. She hasn’t gotten one thing right and has no idea how to do her job properly. She’s just jumping to conclusions and refuses to listen to any other possibilities. It’s just painful to watch her running around and stalking Nam Jun instead of doing her job.
This doesn’t seem like a smart idea to me. If her character doesn’t get better this show will probably lose viewers. I’ve stopped shows halfway through for less than that. I don’t like wasting my time on a show where I only enjoy one half of the plot when I know I can find a better one. Being frustrated by a characters dumb ass behaviour makes me feel like I’m watching a bad sitcom
Man tbh my favourite couple in this show are Eun Bin and the prince. I really wish those two could have been happy together. The Prince just has the purest love for her man, it’s really sweet. Out of every character that’s in love with another character in this show, he’s the only one who is actually willing to just watch the person he loves being happy, even with someone else. There’s no possessiveness or toxicity in his feelings, he never does anything messed up to protect Eun Bin either but instead tries to steer her back to a better path. He’s just perfect, and he’s written so well that his actions and personality don’t come off as cheesy or overly romanticised.
I am re-watching this drama and confused why chef and queen met in the swimming pool and why she kissed him? Was…
It really has no rational meaning or explanation in the plot of the show. I think it was just a way to show the viewer, visually, that these two aren’t switching bodies but are joining together in the queens body.
The 5th and 6th episodes were the strongest episodes in terms of pacing, so you clearly have no idea what you're…
XD it’s the first 4 episodes the story is literally starting.
I tend to think that people who use phrases like ‘subtle foreshadowing’ without actually mentioning what’s being foreshadowed, have no idea what they’re talking about…
Kdramas are known for being pointlessly dramatic, it’s actually one of their good points.
But, please go on. Don’t waste this opportunity to make yourself feel like your know something better than someone else. Because things like opinions all have a right and wrong one.

That’s how I took it anyway ^^
