I’m kind of scared about this tbh. I’m looking forward to it, but I also think that another international remake of this might be too much. But I’m still excited to see how it turns out.
This is unrelated to the drama, I just noticed it and felt the need to comment. The flower things. Like wtf?? Why does this website suddenly feel the urge to charge its users real money for something that’s irrelevant?? Why do the actors and artists have to be fucking ranked by popularity, based on how much REAL MONEY fans are willing to spend so they have the most “flowers” I’m honestly disgusted by this. Am I overreacting? Does anyone think this is a fun new way of interacting with these lifeless profiles??
If the website needs funds to keep running or to keep up the amount of content I’d rather be asked for a donation and informed of the actual reason funds are needed.
Love him, but I’m just noticing these flower things. Like wtf?? Why does this website suddenly feel the urge to charge its users real money for something that’s irrelevant?? Yeh tbh I don’t understand why Koreans think this kind of humour is funny. I just don’t get it. So much of it is based on slap stick and poop jokes and the rest is just old and boring female and male stereotypes. Like when was the last time you laughed at a skit about a crazy girlfriend who won’t let her boyfriend go out with his friends? Or the classic ‘The Mother is so stingy’. And about 80% of this is literally just poop jokes, why do they think that someone sitting on a toilet is so funny?? Oh, and of course can’t forget the pantsing! Because someone having their pants pulled down and exposing themselves is absolutely hilarious! Do they all have the mentality of a 5 year old when comedy is involved? This show is just boring >< I don’t even understand how they can be proud of this? This is the longest running webtoon and obviously has a huge fan base, there’s actually living people out there who think this is good. Once again I’m disappointed in the human race as a whole.
I can’t get over how bad it is though, I wouldn’t actually mind the stereotyping and toxic behaviour at all, if it was funny, but it’s not. You can only get away with this kinda shit if it’s actually funny ><
I get what they were going for here, but the only part they got right imo was to acknowledge that scandals happen. The cringe/uncomfortable humour wasn’t done right, it was just hard to watch rather than being uncomfortably hilarious. This is a hard thing to pull off, the office is one of the few well known shows that did this right and even then in later seasons it mostly gave up on this kind of humour.
There are some funny scenes in this, but it’s usually like one scene per episode that manages to get it right ><
Anyway, I still hope they keep attempting to do this kind of show, I didn’t hate this one, it just wasn’t funny…
That first episode was more fun to watch than the whole season 2 of TharnType.
But honestly I don’t have high hopes for this, I feel like it might deteriorate into a shadow of 7 years of love. As in the whole drama will just be Leo and Fiat getting jealous and possessive.
Haven’t read the book so I don’t know what the plot is. If you have and what in expecting is wrong, let me know? ^^
Guys I just want to point out that no actual plot twists happen in these movies. A plot twist doesn’t mean having a character simply tell another character what happened. That’s not a plot twist, that’s called exposition. And it’s the only thing that actually happens in these movies. Characters fuck, then they tell each other a story of what happened to them or to other people.
Also, if you think the acting in these movies was good, I honestly don’t know what to tell you >< I didn’t see one ‘actor’ change their facial expressions during any conversation. They say they’re in love with no expression, they kill each other with no expression, their faces only move when they’re fucking.
I couldn’t care less if Ruka was dead or alive because he was barely a person. And I also couldn’t give a fuck if Haruto is happy or if he’s being fucked into oblivion in some dodgy club. Literally none of these characters are in any way interesting ><
After watching the first movie, I was sure this was just written and shot by a guy who had a fetish for ederacinism and a general love of personality disorders.
After watching the second part, I’m pretty sure he’s just fucking with us.
There are too many scenes in this part that are just intentionally funny and over the top ridiculous.
I especially like the part where we are treated to a random sex scene with the two henchman who seem to do ALL the chasing down, beating up, killing?, money collecting etc for this underground crime syndicate that has like 12 members XD
hello, i just finished watching on dramasee though, idk how u cant find it. https://dramasee.com/watch/saitankyori-wa-mawari-kudokute-2019/episode-1.html
whered you watch this one i only find links for the second movie
Hey yeh, you watched the second part of the series. There are three.
But, trust me your not missing much. All three movies are kinda just an excuse for sex scenes tbh. Not much going on plot wise not much character development and whatever plot there is, is also mostly just a collection of contrivances pushing the characters into fucking each other.
I feel like the point of this movie was to see every single character fuck Haruto. While it should have been about the circumstances and frame of mind that push someone to go this far.
Harutos actual reasons are never explored past, he has debts and he wants to save Aoyama. Does he have a personality? I don’t know it wasn’t shown on screen. He’s basically a cardboard cut out with a hole.
Like, the part when Ryoma comes to fuck him. Here is a prime opportunity to show Haruto having some kind of emotion after basically finding out he was pushed into this life for the single reason that Ryoma wanted to fuck him. But we just get a lengthy sex scene.
Look don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against sex scenes. But like if that’s all you wanna put on screen, why not just make porn?
XD I find it hilarious that in the show Fiats behaviour is portrayed as bad but in season 1 Tharn did the exact same shit to Type only difference being that Type was single.
This season is mostly just funny. As in it’s funny to watch these very shallow characters attempting to portray real feelings. But I’ve read some of Mames books, and, tbh her characterisation is non existent. Every single character has exactly one, maybe two if they’re lucky, personality traits and this defines their personality as a whole.
Type has a bad temper and swears a lot. That’s his whole personality.
Tharn is gay. This is literally his whole personality ><
I can go on but I’ll stop there I’m sure you get my point.
This whole franchise is literally built on Mew and Gulfs faces. Not even their chemistry, because honestly they have more off screen than they on screen. And, even then Gulf mostly just looks like, he loves the way everyone loves him and Mew is just part of that crowd.
Last thing, the funniest part of the whole drama is the last few episodes, when Type decides the way to save his own relationship is by getting Leo and Fiat together XD I mean who wrote this? Who actually thinks that this makes any fucking sense? But at least I get to laugh at fucking Tharn getting wasted and drunk whining while Type is going around playing fucking matchmaker. This alone proves exactly how much the writers of this understand what relationships should be like XD
P.S; I’m officially locking down my opinion, gathering from all the Thai dramas I’ve watched (not just bl) that Thai people do not posses the capability to ‘take a hint’
It is interesting reading about what everyone theorises around this movie, it is with any movie or drama that involves time travel. I used to do this XD but at some point I just realised that it’s mostly useless trying to find fault or reason in the logic of a time travel story because time travel is inherently illogical. Of course there’s going to be gaping plot holes in such a story, their not so much plot holes as they are the absence of universal understanding of a popular concept and the fact that so many theories exist on how time travel would even work. But I do still like to read about what everyone thinks and the things they thought of while watching this it’s just interesting to see how other people perceive the same thing and what they noticed that I didn’t.
I just can’t get over the fact that Seo Yeon doesn’t even consider that ignoring a murderer who knows where you and your family live is a bad fucking idea. It’s the first thing that crossed my mind even before Yeong Sook went nuts on her. It’s just humanly impossible that this isn’t the first thing she thinks off and therefore comply with Yeong Sooks demands right away.
I realise that without this we wouldn’t get to the final act of the movie, but, it’s just little things like this that make me start to get annoyed by the way people are behaving in a movie instead of just enjoying the story.
The twist in this movie is… I don’t want to say good, I’ll say unexpected. That’s pretty high praise imo, I havent watched a movie that had something unexpected happen in it since I was like 14 probably.
The sad part is, that the twist is the only part of the movie that’s interesting. The way the story leads up to the twist is slightly boring and purposely pushes the viewer to think something supernatural may be happening. I don’t think this was the right choice for this movie though, I’ve seen enough movies where the twist was supernatural so watching this and thinking I was going to get the same kind of twist just made it boring rather than giving the right kind of tension for the twist we did get.
Then, when you find out what’s actually going on, your treated to about 5 minutes of euphoria and thinking ‘wow I was not expecting that!’ Right up until you realise that the rest of the movie is just going to be your average action thriller chase through the city.
The ending, well, the ending was lazy. I feel like the writer either gave up at this point or just could not in any way think of how to end this except for, everyone dies. Also finding out that Jin Seok did commit the murder but he was ‘redeemable’ because his brother needed the operation is also the lazy way out. The writer didn’t want his MC to be a total piece of shit, maybe he did and was asked to change it? Who knows, I just know the movie would have been that little bit better if Jin Seok had been a total fuck up who had no guilt.
But yeah, this is what I mean by saying that the twist is the only ‘good’ part of this movie.
The writer should have, instead, really lent into the psychological trauma, and psychic driving memory alteration part of it and just gone nuts. The end result here feels really subdued considering what it could have been.
Great comment. I laughed so much, especially the first sentence:)
XD thanks. That first sentence describes the show perfectly for me tbh. And it doesn’t even have to be me and my friends. If you filmed any group of high school kids you’d literally get the same plot…
I agree with you on manner of death. lol. I went into that with zero expectations, and ended up being very confused.…
Oohh yeah I’ve been catching up on all the good looking Filipino bl I can find, their stuff does tend to be more focused on the plot (rather on how cute the actors are) and it’s not as trope heavy. Tbh I’m mostly just happy that so many Asian countries are starting to produce bl which leaves us with more choice.
You mentioned Japan and it is mind blowing to me that even Japan are starting to produce better BLs than Thailand is. Sure Japan is the birth place of bl as a genre, but it’s also the place where bl is boxed in, and the place where most of the bad tropes we see came from originally. Until recently Japan was still producing the controlling seme/innocent uke stuff heavily and, they still are, but even they have managed to move past those characteristics and make dramas like Cherry Magic, Life;Love on the line and even comedic ones like, A man who defies the world of bl, are much more enjoyable for me.
Look even South Korea has managed to make more than one good short form bl recently, Where your eyes linger, colour rush, to my star, mr heart, etc. A few of them were disappointing, like nobleman ryus wedding and you make me dance, I wasn’t a fan of those, but more have been good than bad. The one airing atm, Light on me, is very cute and interesting as well. Because they don’t repeatedly tell the same stories, use the same tropes, settings and character personalities. Each one of those I listed, is very distinctly different to the rest. Even the ones that have the same setting, like the high school based ones, all tell completely different stories…
Omg, I’ll stop here I’m sorry I don’t want to bore you XD
This is probably the only manga/anime adaption where I prefer the movies over the source material (I think a lot of it has to do with the VA for Kenshin in the anime)
Anyway someone obviously cared enough about this to make these adaptions and to make them fucking great.
About this one in particular I don’t have much to say, it was good just as good as the rest. Best part is probably Kenshin actually killing people.
Also I know it probably wasn’t meant to be funny but the first 10 minutes with the whole sword in mouth fight it just reminded me too much of Zoro and made me laugh.
Watching Kaeng and Puth is painful man, the great smutty scenes are almost wasted on them, lucky they’re so cute. Maybe it’s just me, but a person who’s so annoyingly persistent and the other who keeps coming back for more even though they say no, those kinds of people suck. I think this is probably due to my experiences with those kinds of people, especially the kind that turn obsessive and can’t take eventual rejection.
I mean these two end up together so it’s not really the same, but I find it grating because I know two actual people with these personalities would mindfuck each other into an abusively toxic relationship.
What really annoyed me about this actual couple (not just their personality types) is the random af tonal shift in the last 10 min of the second episode. Puth just suddenly switches from liking Payu to liking Kaeng out of nowhere since the last 2 hours we’ve been watching him constantly reject and insult Kaeng (but also go and fuck him every now and then) then he proceeds to dump a whole bunch of exposition on the audience and says he hasn’t slept with anyone but Kaeng since they started, which hardly matters because we’ve been watching him flirt with and eyefuck Payu for hours while also ‘chatting’ with like at least 3 other guys so the not having slept with anyone else is meaningless…
Anyway this story needed more airtime to be complete and make sense, we’re shoved into their relationship from the middle of it not the beginning, we never actually see Puth caring about Kaeng until the last 10 minutes which is kind of important to not only justify his decision but to also give the audience a feeling of understanding why these two have decided to change for and be with each other, instead we get one line about Mon telling Puth that Kaeng asked about what kind of person he likes, and this is meant to explain why Kaeng has suddenly gone from being a notorious player to loving only Puth.
Ugh this couple could have actually been good, the story wasn’t boringly cliche and tropey, they had good bed scenes and good chemistry which is a rare thing in this drama XD only Sun and Nuea have managed it before these two. So I’m mostly just disappointed that it didn’t fulfil the potential it had…
The flower things. Like wtf?? Why does this website suddenly feel the urge to charge its users real money for something that’s irrelevant?? It’s pretty hard to find, I think it’s because it is so explicit. I assume most of the drama websites just didn’t wanna have anything to do with it.
But, trust me your not missing much. All three movies are kinda just an excuse for sex scenes tbh. Not much going on plot wise not much character development and whatever plot there is, is also mostly just a collection of contrivances pushing the characters into fucking each other.
