It wasn't explicitly explained, but I got the impression his 180* personality change was all due to senior angel's influence. Basically, drama scores are like this:

# = quality level &/or subjective opinion

10 = "perfection" / LOVELOVELOVE
9 = near perfect / TOP FAVORITE
8 = many good bits / entertaining
7 = evenly good&bad / interesting
6 = various issues / still worth it
5 = just average / generally liked
4 = below average / more disliked
3 = too much wrong / really disliked
2 = painful / whyy did this get made
1 = craap / *erases from memory*

Audiences tend to rate along these lines, not just here, but like on iDMB etc for movies, etc. The 5-star version is easier: 1 = hate / 2 = dislike / 3 = like / 4 = really like / 5 = love, as used on Netflix & a few other places.

So with bigger audiences ie more complicated opinions in the mix, scores usually will balance out to the ~average. It is extremely rare for media to score a combined high rating cuz it means everyone having the same opinion. And the opposite is true too, it's rare any drama etc will get actually low ratings cuz there will always be many that liked it enough to rate it highly. Thus, balance.

My own view of this particular series is on the next pg in reply to another cmt; I'd guess others who are similarly disappointed might just not be bothering to post at all. Resulting in an impression of ~100% positive cmts.. ^-^

Hmm, good? well? Didn't really see that in this writing, aside from the cancer part of the story.. most everything else disappointed me.. but yeah, I get it. If only.. xD

Well, most relationships are already "platonic" by default, lol so yeah an intentionally ~romantic yet ace relationship would've been amazing.. siigh. Maybe next drama! ;(

My pov, after watching all 22 eps: terribly written, frustrating, totally predictable, derivative in the worst ways, & generally painful due to the exaggerated use of cliches.

But definitely not "boring"! As disappointed as I still am in the ridiculously ruined unique factors that it had going for it (multi-OT3's, potential ace char, etc), it's still overall been interesting. I do really wish they hadn't reduced the main trio to mere caricatures of their roles tho, in one of the most ~immature triangles I've ever seen.. eh well. The actors are what really kept me tuning in, & I just had to work overtime mentally rewriting the rest! ;P

Definitely check out It's Okay Daddy's Girl, cuz you not only get these adorkable boys as actual brothers (whose impossibly perfect selves will ~twist your heart from all of the saad cuute!) but also grandpa & quirky sis! as minor chars too, loool.. ^-^ (plus bonus: that super precious cuutie @__@ from Heartstrings, MinHyuk interacting with DongHae, etc)

Awww, so sounds like it'll just be another case of missed opportunity for writers stuck in that same old routine.. shame indeed. ;/

Ep10 & HS's perma-glare / pout is still awkward to me (at least in contrast to JW's soft ~smile, heh) but he's kinda growing on me, & is it me or does he sorta resemble a guy version of GuHyeSun LOL.. took me forever to recognize but now I can't shake it haha hmmm ;P

Most of the recs are on Viki, or DramaFever btw, so that shd make finding them easier. MLPatzzi is the oldest, from 2002! I remember watching it (last summer) & not being able to really figure out which guy was what lead, haha. But then the ending was just, yay. I've been like, why can't every triangle be that cuute?? ever since.. xD

Hehehe, I do have a few with more "trio-shippy" endings than usual, if endgame is important: My Love Patzzi, Panda & Hedgehog, Beethoven Virus. And for those that have definitive m/f endings but are especially OT3-ish in the overall eps: Mary Stayed Out All Night, Boys Over Flowers, You're Beautiful, Protect the Boss, High School Love On, Flower Boy Ramen Shop, Dream High, Absolute Boyfriend.

I see you've alrdy watched Protect the Boss & HSLO.. ^-^ I often mentally rewrite everything I disagree with in canon lol so some recs may be even more lacking in quality than I remember, but for the most part they were really enjoyable.

Of your "Plan-to-Watch" list, not so OT3-ish but still fairly well-done: Pasta & King of Dramas get my vote- but try & watch Coffee Prince & Beethoven Virus first (CP's 2nd lead is Pasta's main, total personality change, lol; BV & KoD have the same main actor yet flow better watched in that order).

Indeed, I've alrdy fallen hard with "SLS" haha & even moreso cuz omg how caring JW has bn over HS since ep01 like I'm just totally shipping them right away xDD then with that super sweet surprise bed-hug in ep07 aahh too cuute! My fave kind of m/f/m #OT3 is when the ~boys are BFF's from the beginning, so.. ^-^
