I started watching the series two days ago, and I'm liking the first two episodes. This reminded me of the manhwa I read around 2017-2019, Dakaichi, same time I got hooked on Solo Leveling. I also remember that I already watched the anime. But the Thai live version is different. I am more drawn to Boom's acting and charisma.

I need to resubscribe to WeTV so I can watch the rest of the episodes. But if you know other free platforms where I can watch the rest of the episodes, please share them. Thanks.

It seems JossGawin is now under the close radar of GMMTV to be valued as a Golden/Power Couple.

Among the recent roster of Thai BL actors under GMMTV, which BL series have their final episodes shown in theatres?

It seems predictable. But what matters is the execution. For me, MGB actors delivered what was expected of them and then some.

Is My Golden Blood the only Thai BL series produced by GMMTV to have its final episode screened in a movie theatre?

This demonstrates the extreme popularity and commercial viability of the JossGawin couple in the Thai BL industry.

The last two episodes are surprising twists to the story. I love it. I love the acting. I love the pacing. And I also love how there are many surprises in store.

The skinship is a bonus. But the story turned out great for both Mark and Tong.

Instead of giving it a 7/10 rating as I initially wanted to for the ten episodes, the last two episodes changed my mind.

My Golden Blood is 9.5/10. I already submitted my review.

Gays range from straight-acting to femme. What most BL fans want to see is two straight-acting men being in love. Hence, many straight-acting gay/bi/queer often have to remain ambiguous to keep the facade of being 'straight' or straight-acting for their fans.

Straight-acting, masculine gay men exist. There are a lot of them in the gay community.

Honestly, the issue is not with GMMTV. GMMTV is in Thailand, the most gay-friendly nation in Asia.

The issue is with the fans and the audience. Femme gays are categorized in a certain niche, meanwhile straight-acting gay/bi/queer actors can get the roles for they can play the fantasy of BL fans.

Gun doesn't have to reveal his sexuality, though. He is what he is, though not as glittery as Earth.

Thai people are more liberal since they have many ladyboys and have a very large gay community in Southeast Asia.

As for straight actors playing BL roles, there have been controversies about them being homophobes or being a diva when it comes to kissing their partners. This is exposed by a Thai director.

Hence, Thai BL production companies are now selective and perhaps, even might prefer gay/bi/queer actors after a controversy in the selection of actors to produce the first 2 Moons: the Series where the producers revealed they only hired straight actors. The series received backlash from the media and lots of controversy, even involving an actor.

Pavel and Joong's batch of actors were received well after 2 Moons 2, but their fame they didn't last despite the obvious presence of queer actors in that batch.

That's a bit of Thai BL history for you.

So far, the credit for revolutionizing Thai BL series involving passionate kisses, making out and simulated sex acts should go to Tul and Mew. They started that trend with What the Duck and TharnType (Mew) and Together With Me (Tul with Max). It so happens that Mew and Tul are the famous out actors in Thai BL and are now engaged to each other.

Pavel and Joong also help in the revolution with 2 Moons 2. Hence, Pavel's acting is well-received in Pit Babes, while Joong became more popular after he transferred to GMMTV and after being paired with Dunk.

It doesn't mean, though, that the Thai BL industry has stopped hiring straight actors to play BL. BrightWin, though short-lived, became extremely popular.

TayNew still retains their chemistry in Cherry Magic. Despite Newie having a gf, his sexuality seems to remain ambiguous, though, by default, he is straight.

Straight actors playing lead roles in Thai BL often go stiff during kissing scenes. They kiss so bad, even during intimate sessions. Many have already noticed it.

KristSingto, MaxTul, OffGun, TayNew, MewGulf, MilesApo and even BrightWin already managed to attract international fan bases extending beyond Asia. If I have to include Wang Yibo/Xiao Zhan from China, then surely JossGawin is not the first in Asia.

I don't have a problem with BL actors being straight. I watched KristSingto's first series, and I ended up liking it in 2016. I also admire that they cleared things up about what their fans thought about their sexuality in a Thai talk show. You haven't been at that time yet, but I have been consuming Thai BL for more than a decade.
