Agree. I think they really failed at the execution part and in maintaining credibility of the pairing. Other factors are also at play like the writing(worst so far for a Thai BL) and the directing. I even mentioned before how the editing was done poorly.

The series just capitalized on the good looks of the main actors and for the producers to get their ROI faster. The hype of the series means really big money for GMMTV.

Btw, Bromance also happens between a straight male and a gay male(the straight-acting one\) so it's not exclusively for 2 straight males.

I have observed the SERP of 2gether on Google for days. Typing in 2gether on Google, the MDL page was usually placed at the top even before Wikipedia. Now it's at 4 after the Wikipedia page and then 2 articles from a Philippines new site. This is in Google Philippines.

Anyways, you're right about Advance Bravely. Even though it lacked kissing scenes despite the story derived from a BL novel, the actors managed to retain their chemistry. Those last episodes, I can really say that they've become a couple there. Even their side couples also have good chemistry together. Advance Bravely is a good series but I am sad to learn it won't have a second season.

Okay, we even had an argument before about this series especially when you informed me of being problematic when I shared the director should have been gay or female because of certain reasons. I think the demise of this series is mostly attributed to the director that accepted the shitty writing of the show's screenwriters.

But it's all good. No hard feelings. :)

Maybe this is your new BL series. People here have been watching different BL series for years and have been discussing this kind of stuff when we believe there are plotholes or irregularities in writing of the series.

The Untamed and Advance Bravely are two Chinese productions derived from BL novels that I have been watching,

You know, I like Sotus when it was shown. I even watched it like 4 times already. But it seems that their agenda that "love is love regardless of gender" was mentioned by Krist there and continued in this series.

There can be different nuances to this and it's something that I believe they portrayed in this series. And the concept of Pure Love really gets me in a confused way to the point that I feel like they try to insinuate something that it' okay to love someone as long as there's "no sex". Somehow they feel like they're promoting platonic love in male-to-male relationship.

After analyzing this and checking Sotus again, it changed my perception of the series. I don't anymore rave about it.

So far, the only character they label as gay is Green. The remaining characters are ambiguous in sexuality.

After 2gether, I'm staying away from GMMTV BL series.

I have started with yaoi mangas and gay novel stories online. I'm almost 40 anyways. Gay erotic stories on the web started late 1990's.

But yeah, toxic shift in the industry maybe a strong reaction from me. Toxic fans yes. But I've already encountered toxic fans though in small numbers and I don't really consider them as fans. They just happen to be homophobic trolls posing as fans or perhaps, LGBTS in the closet.

I feel that producers and their PR team are also lurking here. MDL is the Asian platform equal to IMDB in the West.

Also, GMMTV is still busy accepting sponsors for their actors so having this Bromance tag on kisskh won't look good in their portfolio.

Actually, they even tried to lower the ranking of this page on the SERP for 2gether kw on Google. MDL page used to be at the top. Now it's no.4 while yesterday it's at 8-10.

Perhaps, GMMTV intervened. It won't look good in their books. LOL

Most of those comments are coming from fans below 18 years old, who are obsessed and are fantasizing the actors like I don't know what to say.

They have a different take because it's their first BL and they're excited for its success(?)

What I don't like is that many of these are hating on other BL couples whom they think are doing much skinship and intimate scenes. They are even fighting other fans who favor BL couples such as MewGulf and are working even to divide the small fandom.

And then there are hypocrites feeding them to hate on those BL series because of those intimate scenes. They really want to make BL series similar to Hetero series so that BL will go mainstream. Their audacity is really appalling.

I've been consuming gay and BL content for almost 2 decades now and this is only the time that I've experienced a toxic shift in the industry.

First, I countered your view because the way you've relayed your statements or comments are similar to those who accuse the viewers of the show of being rape advocates. And somehow there's an insinuation on your comments relating to that. I found it unjust that those who like the show are being labeled as that because of self-righteous views. If we are onto making a purging of shows and series on TV and streaming apps and movies, then I think it's also fair that we get rid of tropes that involve killing, right?

Rape and murder are major offenses so let's work on erasing those shows and let's patronize what we think is ethical, just and for this world to have world peace.

Perhaps, you may find that statement vague. My purpose is for you to try to understand the situations and circumstances of the characters on TharnType while you kept on justifying how problematic is this "sexual assault" trope to be used in a BL series and how the author fails in this and that. And then when you mentioned that this show is "humanizing the villain..." it's when I lost it because even if you deny it, I consider it a prejudiced view.

We are BL fans who call out the show for their lack of sensitivity to the LGBTQ audience, especially the adult ones and who have been in this community longer than you. We want quality and yet the company sends us a subpar production. We are the audience and so we complain because what we have expected was not realized in a series that was initially marketed as BL or having a gay romance.

We are mature audience compared to you who seems to be trolling as a diehard fan of the series who doesn't care about the quality and is manipulated by the looks of the actors. You can't even make a criticism because you're too obsessed.

Mature users of this platform have been criticizing BL series that we like or even love so that we can get quality production. Your behaviour is trying to negate that purpose.

Do we really need to respect GMMTV when they already gained from the hype of this series?
