As predicted, self censorship on Korean TV always ruining plots involving awful elders, but since it`s the last…
I have seen well over 100 kdramas, well thought out, consistent with logic final episode plots are uncommon. Writers are judged by the financial successes of their writing, the final episode being weaker has very little impact on that. (the domestic Korean market is the main focus)
>Another weird comment as plenty of dramas show abandonment or otherwise evil elders. I don't really know where you get this idea from.
Have you seen kdramas with evil parents before? o_O There are countless examples of trash parents getting redemption arks in the final episode, as for counterexamples I can only think of two very tame half examples. (grandma is basically ML's adoptive mother, the person that raised him) I made a mistake of saying elders instead of parent figures.

Of course, it's as bad as it gets.
1. Kdrama writers don't care about final episode quality, because it has no impact on their paycheck & can just work half as much on it as they otherwise would.
2. An elder family member being abandoned/disowned cannot be shown on Korean TV, it's one of those awful unwritten rules that are effectively nearly as bad as Chinese censorship.
edit: by elder I mean parent figure, not just any random grandparent.
Please tell me this is a joke! Granny gets emotional and redemption after all shes done LMFAO, i can't really…

I really don't know how would they redeem granny or if they do this goes straight to bin.
Kdrama writers will likely to manage to poop out something, to not upset hardcore confucianists in Korea. They managed in Atypical Family too & the adoptive mom there was perhaps even worse.
Can someone explain to me what's going on with beds in South Korea? They don't use bottom sheets and I wonder…
I don't see anything wrong with their beds, then again I have a typical bed setup similar to what I've seen in this drama, with no bottom sheet, but instead using a white quilt. (nothing to do with cost or space)
However there is not much difference between the kilt & a bottom sheet in thickness, so I'd imagine you would wash them at similar intervals. Honestly I struggle with comprehending why this is a problem.
Can anyone give me a reason to continue watching this? I'm still on episode 2, and nothing has impressed me yet.…
1-2 are still building up the setting, you could watch e3 and decide, that one is similar to what came later. Romcom action similar to Secretary Kim/Business Proposal, but a bit worse.
I've been thinking what needs to happen in the plot so that I can stomach what's to come without lowering my rating…
-Granny getting hit by a white truck would work. -ML could force the issue of inheriting the company & maybe a will of late father's could be found.. & permanent separation from granny of course -Just leave the chaebol life behind, kind of like what happened in Secret Garden.
What instead is going to happen is that grandma will come to her senses & it will be awful & jarring.
Anyone has webtoon spoilers? Does the webtoon really exist?

It's a kdrama romcom, if the usual hooks don't do it for you, then of course that is the end result.
I imagine you wouldn't like Secretary Kim either, though looking at your list you really have not watched a great many ceo+poor woman dramas & there is like over 100 of those :D
Anyway since I already looked, if you are interested in recommendations, then you could maybe give "It's Okay That's Love" & "Another Miss Oh" a go.
so am I imaging it or do I see redemption arc for the gramndma coming. I woould be pissed if she has one because…
I'm very surprised every time the toxic parent is dealt with in a way that makes sense. I really liked that aspect in First Frost recently, though it's harder in kdramas.
I can only think of 2 kdrama examples where sanity won to an extent & I've seen so many toxic parents over the years. In Business Proposal second FL tells his father off, it's a minor break and in Secret Garden, the toxic parent doesn't give in, but the conflict remains semi unresolved, but the the writer tried to make it more palatable to the hardcore Confucianist crowd with those final grandchild related scenes. At least no redemption ark happened in that show.

I have not yet really started this drama, but I know how Korean society works & I think there is an extremely high chance that any evil parent or grandparent would get a redemption ark in any kdrama, almost no matter how evil & bad.
How did you guys bear with this?
You are right, I don't like saeguks, so of course that could be possible in that genre.
