What's in the novel is pretty good I think. So worst case they'll waste 2 hours on the second couple that's not in the novel. Additionally It's possible that unlike in the novel she would have to make up with her mom, 50-50% of that to pass censorship.

`Perfect and Casual` is probably much better than this, Check it out xd

There are very good reasons why Chinese slice of life dramas are not popular. They are full of social engineering & without the romance it's a hard swallow, even if they are otherwise excellent.

There is a problem with the timeline of Frost going along with the novels, but the Hidden Love drama doesn't.

There is a very out of touch translation in e16, but that's not it, it's fine.

That chapter in the novel is porn basically. (I'm not against porn, but the part where they talk about pain is quite sad) In the drama PROBABLY this is what we're going to get: Kissing with clothing flying/lying around shown & then the part of dealing with the hickies, that's it, which is enough tbh.

Going from 30 to 12 is not the same I think. We'll see..

Every drama needs a lot of time to get through that process. (as evidenced by contemporary drama characters often using phones 3-5 years out of date)
Urban-fantasy shows like this one will need more from the get go, even if we ignore the potential difficulties to adopt this specific story in a way that would be acceptable to the censors, it would still take a LONG time to get it done. Which is a shame, because I too would love to start watching this yesterday, but it is what it is.

You don't have to, but it would be a tiny bit better. There is about 10 minutes so far that would be more enjoyable have you seen Hidden Love.

We are in the finish line now, the progress is quite decent in this genre I would say.

It's special, but only for those that can enjoy slow romance dramas. Not everyone is like that.
