so am I imaging it or do I see redemption arc for the gramndma coming. I woould be pissed if she has one because…
I'm very surprised every time the toxic parent is dealt with in a way that makes sense. I really liked that aspect in First Frost recently, though it's harder in kdramas.
I can only think of 2 kdrama examples where sanity won to an extent & I've seen so many toxic parents over the years. In Business Proposal second FL tells his father off, it's a minor break and in Secret Garden, the toxic parent doesn't give in, but the conflict remains semi unresolved, but the the writer tried to make it more palatable to the hardcore Confucianist crowd with those final grandchild related scenes. At least no redemption ark happened in that show.

I have not yet really started this drama, but I know how Korean society works & I think there is an extremely high chance that any evil parent or grandparent would get a redemption ark in any kdrama, almost no matter how evil & bad.
This is very common in Chinese webnovels/novels, they do it all the time.
If I had to guess, I think it's quite possible netizens found many factual problems with the "real" cities the novelists wrote about, so instead at one point everyone just decided to make the novels more removed from reality.
Yi Fans annoying aunt is Bai Lu’s mother in forever and ever, she was so sweet, even the styling is the same…
I've seen Kong Lin in countless cdramas, most of the time she plays the annoying mom that attacks their child's significant other, she is the queen of annoying middle aged moms. That's what they cast her for & I have only respect for the actor, I just don't like how typecasting often gives the viewers spoilers about the plot direction. Here at least she is playing something a bit different.

It's only March xD
This is already "too" fast in terms of maximizing the impact of product placements.
