Let Me Hear It Barefoot was his first on-screen role? the indie actors of Japan are some of the best I've ever seen.

Title The Eighth Sense Spoiler
i agree that it is very excessive but it is very normal there. Koreans drink ALOT and a big fraction are smokers.…
exactly. when I moved to Italy, I saw 15 year olds chain smoke cigarettes before class. italians also LOVE wine! it's not even a stereotype that they drink it like water, lol. south koreans drink a lot, and it's mostly because everything else (besides cigarettes), is illegal there. it's like nationwide alcoholism lmao. Americans aren't allowed to drink OR smoke (legally.. but we all break the law ;P), until the age of 21. they've been instilling a primal fear of becoming a disgusting and horrid creature if you smoke a single cigarette, since the age of 6. this has sort of led to people viewing anyone who smokes as less as them, disgusting, or poor (?). it's not even an exaggeration. it's incredible how America has turned cigarettes into a literal sin. (I'm not saying they aren't bad, but I have met countless people that put them on the same level as manslaughter)

sorry for the reply, but I just felt the need to support you lol

I will be reading all recommendations regarding this, maybe I'll find another hidden gem like this :)
Love Class (I find this one to be ostracized for no reason. I just wish it was longer), Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai, A Distant Place, About Youth, Muchuu-sa, Kimi ni (not marketed as BL, but it doesn't take being gay to realize this show is queer. queer asf. lol)

I don't have anything to say. I'm not even going to say anything. I probably shouldn't have watched these episodes, given the other events of today. Now I just feel worse.

screw what anyone says, this show is great. it’s mindless, sure, but the characters are anything but flat. Cher is probably one of my favorite characters, ever.

The Eighth Sense definitely pulls out the best in him. he's enthralling. his eyes, his mannerisms, his subtle pauses. oh my, I adore him.

Well, after Gyoten's countless love confessions towards Tada, I think that he is indeed GAY and no one can change…
given the fact the author of the novels this show is based on is a BL enthusiast, I also believe Gyoten is gay lol.

this an amateur short film (movie, basically), and somehow I think that made it even better. the lighting is fucked up half of the time, and then at some parts it's breathtaking, the sound is funky, and then they get to these clicks and off-switches that turn the screen black and it's really charming, there's also... no music? as far as I remember. the entire thing is dead silent.

it's also non linear, so I also had no idea what was going on until I sat for a few minutes afterwards and thought about it. it's different, certainly something a group of passion filled young people made. I really want to be their friend.

I could say that the acting is awkward, but it really isn't. they felt real. or maybe that's because I'm also awkard. the dialouge is pretty vague, or maybe that's because the english subtitles are vague and I had to attempt to translate the rest with my subpar japanese.

either way, if you want to watch something different, something that is going to leave you with an impression (albeit it everlasting, or only for a few minutes, or two weeks from now), I would offer you to watch it. it's not extravagent in the general sense of the word, but it's strange. I like quiet, strange things.

P.S. my favorite shot was when they were playing in the snow. I'll think about it in reflections of car windows.

Title Our Dining Table Spoiler
Bokura no Shokutaku is based off of a manga of the same name. Just read it.
it's been a few years since I've read this manga, so forgive me, but Yutaka was told as a child that eating with him is uncomfortable or off-putting, because of his awkward and shy nature. being told this as a child (like some people, being scared when they knock over water glasses, because their parents used to scream at them, or throw things when it happened), it ate away at him. I myself have been reprimanded for being too quiet while eating, making myself "creepy." it's weird, trying to please people.
