giving a blind eye towards everyone in the comment section... this shit is GREAT. I love the framing of the scenes- something about the lingering shot of rice dropping from Kazuma's chopsticks, or the way the table legs are blurry in the foreground when they're on the floor. the blunt and straightforwardness of the dialouge is extrememly manga/novelistic and I love it
the more I watch of this I, just... there is SO much love. they are one big ragtag family, and Sakurai is the best step-up brother anyone could ask for. and I will and cannot get over the fact Sakurai and Suzuki... just... stare at eachother with fond and heartaching eyes for a solid 10 seconds with no diaglouge... ALL OF THE TIME? there are so many people aruging about bromance in this comment section, but all I have to say is that the damn romantic music that's starts playing every time Sakurai and Suzuki stare at eachother... this is gay as hell lol. if Suzuki was a woman, 100% there would be romance: and Sakurai LITERALLY said that exact statement.
all I'm saying is that Sakurai 100% kisses the homies goodnight. plus, he's a certified Good Boy™!
there is so much passion inside of this little show, you can tell just by the way they angle some of the shots. it did well for the budget it had, and the actors were wonderful. I wish I was in their menagerie of a class; watching the last 2 minutes of the last episode literally made me feel like I graduated with them. lol.
they changed some things from the manga, but it's still so well done that I think they got Mita Ori's introspection and permission for it. and that kiss... fuck. it was so sweet. the nerves, Minrou pressing more into it (I have a feeling it was Yutaka's first). this entire piece of media is just so hfdshlskhgf. damn you, Mita Ori.
In the manga, the kiss is never said to be on the mouth, or on the cheek. Somehow it being on the cheek makes it so much more... GYAHH. I really do think Minoru would have kissed him on the cheek instead, he's that kind of gentle (and nervous) person.
i agree that it is very excessive but it is very normal there. Koreans drink ALOT and a big fraction are smokers.…
exactly. when I moved to Italy, I saw 15 year olds chain smoke cigarettes before class. italians also LOVE wine! it's not even a stereotype that they drink it like water, lol. south koreans drink a lot, and it's mostly because everything else (besides cigarettes), is illegal there. it's like nationwide alcoholism lmao. Americans aren't allowed to drink OR smoke (legally.. but we all break the law ;P), until the age of 21. they've been instilling a primal fear of becoming a disgusting and horrid creature if you smoke a single cigarette, since the age of 6. this has sort of led to people viewing anyone who smokes as less as them, disgusting, or poor (?). it's not even an exaggeration. it's incredible how America has turned cigarettes into a literal sin. (I'm not saying they aren't bad, but I have met countless people that put them on the same level as manslaughter)
sorry for the reply, but I just felt the need to support you lol
