Have you ever thought about the fact that those roles were all he's offered? In my experience, I have seen many underrated actors or actresses accepting roles that are the same because that's all they're given. I mean they need work lol.

They are, no one really likes those roles, so why can't they give him better ones? 😭

But is that his fault though? If you want to blame someone, then blame the writers, they're the ones keeping him in for so long. It's not like he has a choice. 🤔

I'm curious how you've come to the conclusion that he's annoying irl because he plays annoying characters? If you're going to phrase it like that, plenty of other actors or actresses can be the same in that context as well 😂

HCS is not bad at acting, he's just not given the chance to showcase it. He really is typecasted in almost every drama he's in but that's NOT his fault. If they'd give him better roles that aren't always the "annoying ex", his acting wouldn't incite so much hate 😩 Ya'll can hate the character but don't hate on the actor. The idea that he plays annoying characters does not equate to him being annoying in real life. It's two separate things.

Also, if his character infuriates people so much, it must mean he's doing his job well.

Literally have been anticipating this ever since news of it came out! I know Vengo will absolutely nail the vampire role!! Donuts have been making edits of him as a vampire for so long so this is a dream come true <333 I just hope Nana is able to carry out her character well.

Look, I'm not a fan of cheating/adultery at all, BUT I can see where it's coming from in the FL's case. She did what she did, she now has to deal with the repercussions of it. Her character is morally questionable, but I'm not going to jump the bus and say that she's a horrible person. She was in a bad situation with a piece of sh** husband. Does that make it justifiable for her to have an affair and neglect her child? Not at all, but at least she's trying to be better(? at least towards her son (which is the most important thing, because poor kid), which is miles and miles away from what the psycho-obsessive husband has done and won't do. No parent in their right mind, would EVER do what the husband has done to their child, it is unforgivable, disgusting, and downright evil.

Cheating/adultery will never be something that would sit well for me at all, but I do appreciate the way they portray it, in this drama. Both sides are seen, we get an in-depth understanding of why the person did what they did, it's realistic and gets into the nitty gritty (I Have A Lover is another good example). I'm definitely interested in how they'll handle the woman and her mother-in-law because coming from an Asian family, I've seen these situations a lot.

Overall, I'm enjoying the drama, despite there only being 2 episodes right now. I may change my opinion in the future, but for now, it's a great watch for me. Cho Seung Woo has always been one of my favorites and he doesn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to the bromance we'll be getting between him and his two friends, and perhaps possible love line(? although I'll be fine with or without it (I just see some chemistry is all). And maybe I might be the only one, but I think the actress of the FL is pretty decent. She showcases emotions really well, especially that court scene, and that scene with her son. I'm intrigued to see what happens next as it seems like she'll join the ML and help him with cases(? and about the ML's past (a former pianist turned attorney? wow) and his niece and nephew (and yes it seems cliche, dead lover and all, but isn't everything nowadays? it's the way they carry it out that is the deal breaker and I think they'll do it well but don't quote me on that).

Pretty good start for me, I'm hooked. Really loving the nephew/uncle relationship in this drama too, I hope we get to see more of them in the coming episodes. The flashbacks are a bit iffy for me but I do like the context they provide so it's not bad. Can't wait for the next episodes!!

Finished watching the drama in two days and I absolutely LOVED the chemistry!! the age gap really didn't bother me at all and actually made it even cuter tbh. I would've given this a 10 if not for the brother drama at the end, the mother revealing that everything was a "test," her best friend(? was meh tbh (her Uncle turned out way better) and Sheng Nan sort of having no brain in the last few episodes but I can't really completely blame her so ig I've made my peace with it. Overall, I really did enjoy the drama, it was rlly cute and the leads had a lottttt of chemistry, and not to mention the acting was quite good, Lin Yu Shen is amazing and Zhao Lu Si did well too. This is the first drama I've watched LYS and he's totally impressed me and had me fall for his character. The OST's are a nice touch as well, and I loved the way they referenced the drama's the leads have been in before (that Oh My Emperor OST had me screaming in happiness because I loved that OST sm)!!

I know the ending is true to the book but I won't deny that it was good getting something more than the original ending.

It was supposed to be 60(? episodes originally but they cut it down so that's why the ending was rushed, but I think the good thing that came out from it, was that we got slightly more context after because in the novel, she was in a coma and that was it lol.

But anyways, yes, don't listen to the comments! There's been multiple times where I read the comments first and was deterred from watching the drama but I was sorely proven wrong on many instances. Glad you preserved and watched it! If only others can be the same.

There's no official/licensed English translated version as of now sadly. I too have been trying to see if there's a physical translated book but there's nothing. I'm honestly just tempted to get the chinese versions and enjoy the pictures they have lol

Vengo & Dilireba

I can tell that this is the best kdrama of the year in the making for me, only just two episodes in and I already love it so much!! HSK's voice is just so calming and nice to listen to and although I know there's going to be a lot of sad moments coming up but they've done a beautiful job so far. Can't wait for the next episodes!!

I really didn't want to give this drama such a low rating (from my standards, I usually try not to give below a 7) but it just couldn't be helped in this case. Honestly the only thing that kept me going was the chemistry between the leads and their acting. Wang Lin was alright too; I just couldn't bring myself to care much about any characters besides the leads after 30 something episodes. The plot was disappointing and super draggy (perhaps it's all the political drama that had me bone-dead tired), and many things made no sense, in context of character decisions, etc towards the final half. Plus the fact that almost every single "important" male character in the drama has fallen *obsessively* for the FL, it was the dumbest thing for me. But I did like that Zilong got better character development though. The potential the story and characters could've had if things were written better.

It was quite enjoyable up until maybe episode 40 and everything went downhill for me. I had some expectations for this drama so I'm just disappointed that it didn't live up to its hype. And here I thought it could be another masterpiece like The Story of Ming Lan but I was wrong. Although I finished the whole thing, it just couldn't cut it for me. And that ending. Goodness the ending. It's not just rushed but it was like nothing was resolved, just went back to square one except that the leads took themselves out of the equation. I think the saving grace of this drama was Xiao Qi/Zhou Yi Wei, and I'd like to say a bit of Zhang Zi Yi as well besides the fact that her character from ep. 43 and beyond made my head hurt ALOT. Overall, if anyone wanted to watch this, watch it for the CP and for them only (and tbh sometimes they fell flat/bland too, perhaps because of how much time they spent apart but that's something for another time)

By spin-off, I hope my favs are still in the season. Stranger isn't Stranger without Cho Seung Woo & Bae Donna.
