Title Go Ahead Spoiler
Halfway through and absolutely loving this!! I am so glad I picked this up so I can finish 2020 with a great drama. I've struggled to stay and finish dramas without skipping the last few months and almost thought that after 3 years maybe I am just not enjoying K/C/J dramas! I was on a string on rewatches when I decided to give this a shot ♥️.

The only thing that would have made this absolutely perfect and a top 3 drama for me would be losing the love triangle. I mean, I didn't even pick up any hints of a romantic love from SML during high school days. She was an adored and pampered sibling/friend and then bam! We are grown up, I am chasing you. To me it perpetuates the 'boys and girls can't be super close and have sibling relationship unless related by blood' trope.

Still! I am focusing on other parts and enjoying this drama.

I really want to watch this, it seems like it has everything I like, the only thing holding me back is the love…
I am half way through but have gotten to the point of the romance being out in the open, and trust me, the triangle isn't super strong. I am the same as you! I hate triangles especially long drawn out ones and almost never watch dramas where the main story arc is the triangle (hate the romantic angst, just not what I enjoy). I didn't even know this had a triangle based in the clips I saw online! I am thankful for that since I dove in without prejudice and it was great.

The first couple of life phases have zero romance and is worth watching just for the characters and back story. Then when they are grown up, personally/honestly I feel like the triangle was introduced as a plot device to add another conflict. It is something that happens and we move on to the rest of their lives rather than the triangle being the focus of the story and angst for the entire series. Like they don't spend the entire time pining over each other in a triangle, so you actually get to enjoy the story beyond romance.

Trying to pick this up but the comedy tag always puts me off, it's not that I don't like comedy but I just don't…
The comedy tag should be the last on the list. This is more slice of life, more drama, more childhood friendship, etc. There are a few jokes sprinkled in earlier on just to lighten up the mood after back to back hardships. And even then, I don't think any of the comedy is culture or nostalgia based where you wouldn't get it. From what I recall it was all surrounding the family situation.

This seems to be a well loved drama, i'm kinda sad it didn't click with me. Maybe my heart"s made of stone? Anyway…
The romantic angle of the drama is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. It is sweet but also weird ? If it was just the romance I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much either but the remaining characters especially the fathers are so good that I stuck with it and am enjoying it so much.

I watched it here, done by a fan subber: https://blitzfansub.com/category/love-lasts-forever/ Daily Motion & Dramacool…
Is it a legal and safe site? Haven't used it before

I came here straight after watching this first episode. I saw this drama getting recommended on the forums, and…
Sorry! Been a while since you left this message ☺️
No, I haven't gone back to watch it. It is still on my list. From several posts here I am now convinced the ratings are because of the chemistry/skinship in later episodes and also the male lead's character/relationship development. It seems like it might be worth a watch but I don't feel ready yet!

Anyone know of a legal way to buy this series or watch it online? I don't want the spammy ads on dramacool or the constant interruption of dailymotion (plus the whole piracy thing - I don't want to support it). Can't find a source for the show to subscribe or buy.

Unfortunately it doesn't. This show is a mess.EDIT: Full disclosure: this was written when I was super frustrated…
Not at all passive aggressive!! I feel like we are all more open to flaws in the first dramas we watch. Many of my favorites are dramas which I would watch with a critical eye now after years of dramas under my belt. When I first watched them they were refreshing and fun. I feel it is the same with similar story lines! I love the Korean version of Fated To Love you, for example just because I watched it first. Every other version had me comparing it to the Korean.
Thanks for the comments! I definitely plan to give this drama another shot and forget my annoyance at the first couple of episodes ?

Is there a lot of growth with the FL's character? I dropped after midway through episode 3 because I couldn't…
Ahh ok. Thanks for replying! Does make me.feel better about giving it another shot. I really wasn't sure if I could put up with the evil side glances from the sister for few more hours ?
And good point about female lead too!

Unfortunately it doesn't. This show is a mess.EDIT: Full disclosure: this was written when I was super frustrated…
Sorry about the previous comment. It was written at a very frustrated moment and I maybe went too far.
For some context- I've been watching east asian dramas for more than 3 years now. I have seen some amazing dramas and pay for subscriptions to several streaming services to enjoy them well. I went into this with super high expectations because I loved Marcus Chang in Back to 1989 and Behind your smile. I've been waiting for more of his shows. On top of that, this had a similar vibe to W, one of my favorite shows. Also, no matter what the streaming channels show, kisskh's ratings align well with my taste.
So all that said, I was expecting a drama that was well made. Some suspension of disbelief, sure, but a decent plot. But the first 2+ episodes just blew my mind. I kept giving it a chance but it just wasn't making sense. The plot points, the characters choices, the level of emotions for what was happening on screen. We needed an episode or two before episode 1 to know the characters so we could feel the step sister's hatred, feel ML's anguish and feeling of not having support, feel the FL's passion for her story and work. They just threw us into it and the actions/emotions were like a big splash of cold water with no warning.
So, I was upset. It could have been great. I get that me commenting like that would cause others to drop it when they may have given it a chance, so I'll edit my comment.

That's a good point. I guess I just couldn't believe the intensity of her love where she falls for him to the extent of having a relationship with him, not just a fantasy in her mind. Because she is living through all this. But I get what you are saying..when our ideal person who we fantasized abour shows up in life you fall hard.

Oh no! That spells disaster. I checked in on remaining story and it does seem weird that she falls hard for a fictional character she created

I was unsure how I would rate this drama up until the final episode... what a superb conclusion to a thought-provoking…
Is there a lot of growth with the FL's character? I dropped after midway through episode 3 because I couldn't stand her character.
I can't believe (even in fiction) someone wouldn't report a murder attempt. Then in the parallel world the way she acts and inserts herself is so weird.
Also the step sister! OMG. She reminds me of villains from soap operas who give overtly evil looks to prove they are bad. Just rubbed me the wrong way.

This show is asking ALOT from me in the way of suspension of disbelief. Like there are no cops or investigations…
Also, let me know if you were able to survive the later episodes.
The whole female villain being mean for the heck of the plot and FLs character is so annoying that I dropped it.

I am dumbfounded by the high ratings for this drama! I tried pushing through for two episodes and caught up on later episodes story line to see if I want to continue. I am having a hard time restarting it. I completely get the "suspend your imagination" part - there is no logic to plot points especially in the drama filled first episode and I was ok with that. Honestly what bothered me was the FL's character. Some of her decisions are absolutely ridiculous and only exists to move the plot.
Marcus is amazing and I think the ratings reflect the relationship once they get together, but I am just not able to digest or enjoy the first episodes to get there!

EDIT: Full disclosure: this was written when I was super frustrated with how the drama went. I tried to expand on it in the next reply on the same thread - I haven't watcjed the whole drama, just the first 2.5 and then skip watched. It just wasn't for me and I was upset about such a good plot being wasted.

Oh, I expected more when so lot of people recommended me this drama :( Apart from sweet ML there is nothing valuable…
I think this is one of those dramas where your preferences and choices matter a lot. Not like "best drama ever" objectively, but for individuals it could very well be so. For me, I absolutely love the cutesy couple, their romance, the mash up of genres etc. It was a rare rom-com-with-something-extra where the something-extra was actually entertaining. For me it is a drama I rewatch always and on the same level as Healer, Goblin, and Weightlifting fairy. But I see how it might not be universally loved.

idk if it's me but I'm at episode 5 and I'm already kind of bored :( as much as I enjoy Lee Dong Wook I'm not…
I am at episode 8 and female lead has truly gone off the deep end. Her reactions and complete opposite of the character they built so far.
On Tale of the Nine-Tailed Nov 28, 2020
I had high hopes for this drama based on the promo material but unfortunately it has been a let down. So many cliches! Seriously, it is like the script writer put every single kdramas cliche in here.
On episode 8 now and am so annoyed at the female lead. Skip watching from now on just for LDW.
