(btw is this a spoiler comment? don't know will mark just in case.) i heard about this drama from the very beginning…
This sums up all my feelings, especially about the pineapple hair ? I so so wish someone would post an edited version of this with a straight forward story where the leads get together and it ends. There are so many cute moments but I just can't keep watching the on aging off again drama. It is paused at episode 30 or so now. May finish it slowly.

Worth it?
Depends on your tolerance of the "will they, won't they?" push-pull. The drama is fairly long, so of course it takes a while for the leads to officially be together and then there is more drama to fill time. If you typically have patience for that and enjoy watching something long, this is totally worth it. I loved some of the characters and the setting, but hours upon hours of the same conflict isn't my cup of tea. I enjoy 12-16 hour dramas the most and even then some feel long ?

It's because his character is supposed to be like that.
Other actors have done the "wooden" role much better though. I get that he is supposed to not show too much emotion and anger. Maybe even smirk. Think Kim Hyun-joong in Perfect Kiss or even Boys over Flowers.

none of the casts here are "crazy popular".
Well, ok, maybe not "crazy" popular, but I am someone who mainly follows k drama actors and know maybe 2-3 chinese/taiwanese actors well. And I've heard of Darren Chen a lot. Insta, Twitter, MDL, reviews, etc.

I think a lot has to do with how new someone is to K/C/T dramas. If this is watched when you are just starting out, I can see how the romance and the boys will make your heart flutter. But if you are watching it after too many years of asian drama, then you are just cringing at how many cliches and tropes they use. I keep thinking how much better this drama could be and get annoyed at the plot points.

Title Meteor Garden Spoiler
On a separate note (from my other comment), what's the deal with Darren Chen? I've read about him and he seems crazy popular but his acting is so wooden!! He was great in the scenes where he is laughing and flirting with kiki after he is back from Paris. But he can't do serious scenes. He just stands there with a blank stare while everyone else acts around him. Case in point - the scene at the steps where the group is having a confrontation after Dylan sees Darren and Shen Yue walking in together. They end up arguing and agreeing to a bridge game. Everyone including the Others in F4 and Shen Yue's friend is acting emotional or angry, but Darren just stands there looking at nothing. It takes away from the seriousness of the scene.

Omg I want to continue to watch this but I am having major second lead syndrome!! Someone tell me if he(Darren)…
Keep watching and you will switch your loyalty! This is my first drama with both Dylan and Darren. Trust me, Dylan is 10 times better in this. As time goes on, Darren adopts this wooden look for all serious scenes and Dylan steals the show.

This was THE most realistic and relatable drama I have ever seen. JK, it's a wild rollercoaster of crazy events…
Ha! You had me with the first sentence ?

This is the dumbest drama I've seen in a while but I can't stop watching because Dylan Wang is so good in it! His expressions and acting is great and I want every coat he wear in the drama ?
Shen Yue is usually amazing and you could watch an entire drama just for her, but her character in this so bad that she can't fix it. The character seems to have no depth other than "innocent girl who somehow attracts all boys around her but has no clue what she wants".
I am on episode 12 and constantly roll my eyes at the plot and sub plots. Some parts make zero sense and leave you scratching your head. If I miraculously finish this drama, it will all be because of Dylan wang.

SLS is much stronger with this because the FL looks way better with SML! Also SML is just awesome
Ha! Yes, I love that description. Charm is a key part to his appeal for sure! It isn't just visuals. The more you see him act the better he seems.

Did he make her apologize on her knees? I totally forgot the scene. Which ep? To answer your question, actually…
So true. I feel like like without that particular apology scene, the drama would've been that much better. I

I actually like this more than the original, surprised to see so much disdain for Heon here. Honestly I remember…
Problem is that with c drama the whole concept is a cold male lead, so be has trouble accepting and then expressing his feelings for FL. You also see the transition where he slowly falls for her in a romantic sense. Here they show the ML liking her romantically from the beginning and smiling a lot, but doing nothing about his feelings for years while FL keeps confessing. I mean, if he is warm why isn't he nicer?

I would've agreed with this until episodes 9-10. Then the short form hurts the drama because it has no time to set context and basically says "this happened", end of episode. You don't feel immersed in the story and for someone watching the first time, some relationship elements won't make any sense.

This is such a good point..people keep saying the ML is sweet and warm here but really he just smiles a lot and is still following the cold guy format.

Maybeeeee because some of us really love the c-drama version that's why we kind of get disappointed with this…
I've watched several dramas in their different language versions and always have enjoyed them more than this. The shorter episodes are the biggest issue. The differences in characters and situations would've been a fun refreshing change, but they compressed the story and too many things happen without any context or happen too fast. Especially in the later episodes..I really started to wonder if I slept through some scenes because of the sudden jumps.

Another vote to go watch the c version. This drama makes sense from a relationship standpoint only if you know the context from the original

Title A Love So Beautiful Spoiler
Did he make her apologize on her knees? I totally forgot the scene. Which ep? To answer your question, actually…
Definitely not on her knees. I think OP is referring to the apology before the headlights kiss scene. He says "apologize to me" in his usual cold manner.

I'm not able to digest the fact that many people like the cdrama better than this one. The main lead in cdrama…
He asked her to apologize in a clumsy attempt to make up but they didn't. They later talk it out and each realize why the other was going through a bad time. I agree that the cold male/tsundere thing isn't for everyone, but the original c drama did execute it really well. To me personally the much shorter version in k drama is not enjoyable at all. I feel like I am watching a highlight reel of the original just acted by others. With the original you get so immersed in the story that every little romantic thing makes you smile. The original couple were a much better match too, at least personally for me.
