The opening seemed so interesting, but the written part in the first few seconds gives away the gist of the film - which makes it pretty anti-climatic. Overall, I'd say the movie had a lot of plot holes and was surprisingly boring with only a few interesting aspects.
Kenji Uchida doesn't disappoint. At first I thought I was watching a cute quirky tale about romance, but add some yakuza to the mix and you're really in for a "good" time. The editing was a bit annoying, but I loved how to all the characters' stories came together in the end.
I honestly wasn't planning on watching this one, but an article from Dramafever on why to watch this drama made the series catch my attention. "I'm Not a Robot is actually a love story about humans. Director Jung says I’m Not a Robot tells the story of love and growth among socially awkward people." Sign me up! Personally, falling deeply in love with romcoms comes far and few between so it came as a surprise how I was able to binge watch this one without having to pushing myself to finish. It's even more of a surprise that so far its the only drama I've been able to finish from the current lineup because of how much I was looking forward to each episode. It was so delightful with so many loveable characters, I was smiling ear to ear. I loved the humanistic aspects of this drama, and how we were able to root for growth of the leads. Also, the side romance between the female lead's best friend and one of the researchers was uberly adorable - I wanted to see more them.
