u are so right. MZZ has a choice isnt it. nobody point a gun on his head. when his leader told him of the situation and ask him to do the mission, he was never under threats or duress. he made a choice, he chooses to leave LHJ. it is reasonable for her to be upset in the beginning i should say but that does not excuse her for running around with him later on. even in 2022, why would u go running around with your very very good guy friend when u are already married and your guy friend is your hubby sore tooth. XBC leads an army in a very unsettling time, he really does not need to pile with scandals and bad news and distraction.

What would u say if you boyfriend/hubby is rushing to help his ex girlfriend (whom u know has still really like you boyfriend/hubby). his ex is trying to find all excuse to seek for your boyfriend/hubby help. he treats her as friend ya but your hubby threw away his appointment with you (say your birthday or anniversary) rush to her side because she is a friend. and she really needs help. I think if i can stand there and smile a sweet smile and hug my boyfriend/hubby after that, i am not only a modern woman but also pretty much a saint. And if i slap him and got pissed, i am possessive and want to cut him off his circle of friends. wow!!!! And let just say, in case i am so modern that i allow that, i think i would have every right to ask him to at least bring me along to accompany him or at least give me a courtesy heads up before running out of the door in a jiffy. please dont take female equality as an excuse for not being considerate of your partner's feelings, we are in a modern era but modern and equality also means respecting each other in all way.

I have nothing bad to say about the actors chosen to do the roles of almost all the characters. The main leads are awesome. FL a little dull maybe but her character is the introvert and is supposedly bookish, nerdish. So the actress overall feel fits. The actor Shawn Dou ( my first time watching any of his drama) is awesome. he is good!! Perfect XBC- extrovert yet sensitive, bratty yet clever, ruthless yet love greatly those he loves. Love the relationship he has with his buddies especially. the two actors doing his buddies are perfect and what good friends they in one another. BC family besides the annoying sister are just so kind and human. definitely no scheming many wifes in most republican era dramas.

now for the story and the characters. it is like what most others mention. every episode feels like we are heading towards a train wreck. very very difficult watch especially after the SML comes back. the SML and SFL (MZZ and FQ) are like pyschos. they just lost their rationale and create so many problems including heartaches for both. To be fair, one hand does not clap. If the couple themselves has no problems and trust each other, are both secure in their relationship and communicate, there will not be any wormholes for that two worms of FQ and MZZ to create the wreck.

In this case LHJ knows MZZ is her hubby's bad tooth and yet she keeps getting involved with him as a 'friend' and expect her hubby to respect that...ermmmm...really!!!. With the SFL, she saw the FQ backhugging her hubby in ep 19. Hello this woman obviously blatantly has design on your hubby, gal!!! honestly if he means enough to her, should just broom sweep her out the house but heay, she let her come to the house everyday and hang around his family. she is ok with that?!!!....again no logic here. From this point, i can just conclude to say that LHJ did NOT fully love XBC like she thinks she does. maybe just being touched by his love for her but hers is a more reactive love, he does something, she is touched and move one step forward, then she thinks he did something bad, she bounced 3 steps back. that is not love!!!. IMO up to the point she ran away, she never really love him.

I have to say i think the FL character is written in such a way it is very difficult to feel bad for her. whilst i can understand how a 16 yo (now 22 yo) who is shielded all her life just doesnt get it. She keeps saying modern women must be independent and have their own thinkings and dreams and that is so truly fine. XBC tried to understand and support that while in his own secretive way protecting her from dangerous situation. BUT her thinking is that er husband must be faithful, be supportive, don lie, and don keep things from her. but she turn around and refuses to give her hubby even heads-up or communicate in advance or try her better best to do so after she does something. she wanted respect but did not she respect him at all. Personally, i think the screenwriters seem to got lost between expressing the idea of modern women and equality with basic respect and couple communication. Modern and equality does not mean only male respecting female and supporting her dreams but also female respect and being considerate of his feelings as well. Respect and consideration is the essence of a relationship after love. So the whole drama gives me a vibe of her being irrational and reckless even. very frustrating to watch LHJ behaviour.

XBC of course started the relationship being the one that loves more. so he is willing to give more, love more, lower himself down more. but for a proud soldier and leader, it is hard but we can see him trying all the time with her. So, in the end his insecurity grew by being on the end of scale all the time. he closed up more and more misunderstanding came about. it is such a nangsty story because u know it is unnecessary and illogical when their misunderstanding can be resolve with just communication. BC character definitely makes us the audiences empathise with him more. their sweet moments are like tiny crumbs dish out to audiences for less than 5 min per episode and off they go again we say... i for one lost courage to watch after ep 24 or 25. i plan to just skip to watch and continue from ep 31 on. hopefully she is more mature after doing more, seeing more and experiencing more. sigh....watching this drama feels totally like i am asking to be angsted.

In one of the episode it was mentioned she came to the Xiao household at the age of 16. Stay for a while before he left after Chinese New year to go military school. He was off for more 3 years. So she is now about 19 to 20. She was obviously still schooling when she came. She is the same class as his sister. So ml is obviously older. If he is 19 to 20 Yr when he left, I think he should be 23 to 24 now. Which makes sense to me.

Ep 13 we can start to see the softer side of her already. even though she is brutish. but it funny the ML character shamelessly seek for help and protection from her. it is like he is smart enough to use her talent which is brute force. in one of the episode i think is 5 or 6 when they met his runway ex boss turn criminal at the river. he so naturally commanded her...'take him down' and she responded immediately but so cute she was like 'ehmmm what for'...after she did his order. hahahaha....its almost like she does everything but knows nothing while he knows everything and does nothing kinda relationship.

I think most of their relationship angst and misunderstanding will be over by ep 14 -15. I think she will tear up that divorce paper in episode 14. hope that is the end of the paper. rest should be mostly they work together to tackle baddies and building up their relationship. light and comedic and so far so good.

i think it just aired. i like the storyline of fierce/martial art female and brainy/nerdy male lead. hahaha...it is making the story comedic and hilarous. watch 8 episode so far and enjoying it.

it would be the first perfect drama i had for a long time if it is not for the final plot twist. Why? !!!! the problem is like all of u say it doesnt make logical sense. She does it to protect him with a lousiest reason ever. She knew he was the cause of her family predicament. he was always honest about it. they say so themselves in ep 17 when they were pretending to fight in that brothel storeroom. she says she hated him for all their trouble in ep 19 or 20 i think. and again she comforted him telling him in ep 24 that her dad was never threaten by him to make any of his decision. she even tell him ' why u still hanging on my angry words' referring to her hate drunk speech. they basically always got that part sorted out. And now for her to use that as a reason to poison her mum, either she really think her hubby is stupid or she just could not find anything else to leave him again.

Again like her first time leaving, her best place was to stay with him and be with him and comfort him all the way. that would be the best healing move. he has lost his mum, his trusted best friend and to receive a letter saying she is revenging by killing her mum is prob worst than hearing his mum poison his dad. why would QY under rate LY and his strength ? she doesnt believe he could handle the truth is it and would collapse and give up on life is it? so she need to use hate to move him on. he has proven to be a smart, straight thinking man with lots of integrity and love and full of guts too. Why Why why???!!! really it is forcing the last plot.

When would c drama writers do logical endings and wrap things up nicely......don they read feedbacks from their audiences and learn from past mistakes.

Me me. I stopped at 28 n waiting for everything tomolo. Also lurking around to prepare for some angst. Just in case they decide to split the leads over some family old revenge troupe. Or give us a hanging end.

i think we talk about better ways of doing things and saying things. it is true she doesnt owe him anything as per se. but we also don have to hurt someone whom she obviously love and that someone has gone make effort to make her safe and happy in many ways. Even if she has no feelings for him, after all he has done, i just don think it appropriate shouting on top of ur lungs ...I have no care and no shackles. nothing can shackle me now. That too me was a really bad way to break the news.

I still think this is troupe of i m leaving to pursue my dreams is a little lame. given the scenario, YL is still alive and kicking life threatening moments for LY, they havent solve who betray them in QM case,. it is not logical to go now. LY does still need her and LY will not be able to protect her at all. She is not safe to roam free given that YL scheming. YL knowing her being LY weak link, will capture her the moment she is off LY radius. i guess the arch is so needed so that she can go off and find out about the poison and return to him.

it is really pointless. and it is really painful for LY. He lost not only a childhood trusted companion, friend but also a very trusted right hand man. in fact, the whole 28 onwards seem forced and a little lame. and the part on trailer working with YL is rather bad taste. after all he has done he is gonna be white washed. and SJ and QY dad need to died in the process. no idea how the writers gonna clean up that bit.

Many were asking them on whose kid was that? FL at first says something like mine, mine. but later on she says cannot say otherwise the audience lost interest in the grand finale. Both also tried very hard to explain why she need to leave and why he has to let her go.

I think the better ending one is the imperial coroner. Smart female lead who want to be a coroner, a humble dirt job n the ml a duke who is so super calm n collected but so respectful n sweet towards the fl. N love their intelligence. One very good example of no need to leave out of dreams. She ended up having both, her dream job n a super clever supportive hubby. Isnt that much better?
