Hahahaha LOL the last 2 episodes. LY every expressions are so priceless. him rushing home after court, him sneaking around, and when mum gave the clothes to QY he has such a funny expression...its like please don wear that, hurt my eyes. Love their interaction. They bickering, teasing one another and discussing stuffs are all so natural. it is wonderful when u can totally be yourself when u are with the person. that is what LY is like when he is with QY. And the episode 22 the pretend bickering becoming real bickering over the issue of 'say sorry, beg me' hahahaha these two are so comedic!!!!

yeah i watch ep 21 and 22 and my feelings exactly...what do u expect, QM. he will drop QY and pick up from where she left off. come on, right. She will prob now target all her anger to QY. my heartbreak for QY when she realise what QM did.

but one thing for sure, QY feelings towards QX is not strong at all. after hearing what QM had done she wasnt angry for them being together but more of QM putting everyone in danger. and in the these two episodes she never even think of QX.

So happy to see some blushing from QY for LY. hahahaha

it is actually quite funny even YL catches the drift of LY having feelings for QY but not QY herself hahaha.....rather dense eh.

lets hope she starts to have heart flustering moments and looksed out LY as a man soon....hahaha...QY, look at our handsome ML. the way he looked at her is making my heart fluttered alright hahaha....

i think LY understands how truly important the family and responsibilities are to QY. that is why he helped and supported her. Not QX. u are right. QX only thinks about their relationship. in many ways QY already hint to him that it is not about them anymore. he came to see her but his sidekick will be punish by his mother. he never consider that. he says things like i absolutely do not mind if u r from the brothel...i was like uh huh....bad mistake. As if QY really care. survival is her first mode not the uppity chasity and perfect gal/wife concerns. In that way, LY is good. the guy is never by the book. he does what he think is important.

actually the ML is the root cause of the FL troubles and tribulations. due to political reasons he chose to do a marriage alliance with Qiu family through the emperor powerful concubine. Qiu cannot say no. But the ML is a political target. so the enemies got rid of Qiu. So in a way, all the current problems now is not the FL problems. in fact if u put it that way the FL would have been better wo ML.

when the drunk moment happen btw QM and QX it is over for him. There is no way he can go back to pursue QY with a clean and clear conscience. Sorry QX. i am sorry for you but hmmm....
It is obvious from the development QX cannot be the one for her. Instead of really helping her in a concrete way last few episodes have him lament that he cant do anything and hate himself for being helpless but really?!!! are u tat helpless? when he heard her news of becoming a courtesan, he can go and be her 'customer' right. pay to keep her away from sleazeballs. Like who is stopping him from vising brothels. it is a government run brothel with customers mostly officials. LY is a marquis, of noble blood as well. it doesnt stop him from doing his utmost best to protect her. all QY does is lament and lament and go running to LY to help QY and in the end cry and get drunk when he heard she is dead and end up sleeping with her sister. We all agree QM is terrible. but it takes 2 hands to clap and 2 to tango.

i am so wishing she has a heart flutter moment or oops he is making me blush moment. no need heavy romance. but something like that will make my heart sing. now she is really dense. he is already pretty obvious when he confessed he is jealous...come on gal!!! and omg, the way he look at her all the time, my poor heart is fluttering. hahahaha

I think so too. N she sees him as just a friend. So in a mess like this, u kinda just don expect a friend to go all the way for u. She jusy don expect anything from anyone.

Drama plotwise n so much is happening. I m excited as well. But just wishing there are some real sweet moments. At the moment, it is all let-us - pretend- we- r- couple scenes. U know how some c dramas only hv the leads confirmimg their feelings n relationship in last few episodes. I m worry about it.

But u r right it does sometimes get boring after a confirmation. Haha.... Here prob wouldnt happen here because they still need to fight so many enemies n revive qiu family.

I think for now in this recent episodes, she still doest hv that sort 9f feelings for the ml. First she is riddden w guilt over XQ. Second she is too busy keeping the family together and plotting to get everyone one out. To me she is giving me the vibes of he is a good friend for now. He is helping but it is her own battle n she is not expecting him to help her. Even ep 19 during the heated argument she says so.

But i can seee even qy thinks everything is a pretense, he is enjoying it in a bittersweet way. Bitter he knows how painful n tiring it is for her and he can't end it for her immediately. Sweet because she is literally throwing herself at him n they are as closed as any unmarried man n woman at that era can get. He get all the hugs, princess carry n accidental kisses from her. Love the ml acting. His expression whenever she is not looking is super sweer n convincing.

I just wish to see some real sweetness from her. To hv her realise her heart had flutterred moments, or some oops, i m blushing moments. I m not greedy looking for lovey dovey but some indication that she start to see him as morevthan just a helpful friend. Haha..Because i just feel things is emdlesssly breaking tough for qy. Poor gal deserve some break w LY. Hopefully we get it

i just hope by then, the leads have confirm their relationship already it is ep 26 for goodness sake. 8 episode to ending.

the scenes upset me too and leave a bad taste in my mouth. QM should have learned to tear that man apart. An eye for an eye like QY. that would have been a better character development.

actually i cannot pity her QM. the best stark difference is her and Qiu yin the 4th sister and eldest sister. whilst the 2 started to learn to be strong and understand the importance of family being family, they must put aside grievances and support one another. 4th sister even learn to listen to Qiu yan and trick YL.

QM just doesnt learn. whilst i pity her rape incident and felt so upset to see the scenes, i can understand how it happen. She wallowed in self pity and think that she is the upright good gal. in the brothel instead of kicking up her strength and survival mode she goes into the i m ill mode, i m weak, pity me mode, please hug me mode. QY had wanted her to be strong and protect herself, but not sneaky. whilst the other two sisters learn to stand up and live with the circumstane, QM instead now learn to stand up by tricking her own family and QX. I just think she has no guts to live the reality yet have the guts to go get what she want now by lying to QX. She really dig her grave with QX. sigh....

I think there is no other ending for her, she will prob die in some way with regrets.

anyone else like me feeling a little frustrated on the development of relationship btw the leads. I mean up to ep 20 most of the 'sweetness' are pretty much acting for YL and others to see. Whilst audience is clear LY is very much into QY and everything he does till now is to help and support and protect her. But there is simply no development on QY end even a slight touched or attracted. I mean i can understand her pain and her stress of trying to protect a bunch of helpless ladies and she just have no time for lovey doveyness but it is still frustrating to wait and wait. Can we see some falling in love pleassssseeeeeee!!!!!!

From their valentine day live stream available on youtube, both mentioned that the last half especially coming weeks on, their relationship will be sweeter. they says first half is bitter sweet. last half is sweet like bubble tea hahaha. i certainly hope so. cant wait for saturday night. TGIF

To me it is her way of putting herself up front to help her family. There is no way to gather more information and do anything by being cropped up in the backyard washing the toilets or serving the ladies. so even if it means losing her purity and having no chance of a decent marriage she cannot care anymore. so sad right. must have felt so hopeless. and u are so right. at that point she has no idea how LY feels for her. and there is no way she can know he is doing so many things. they hardly can even see one another. unless he visit the brothel. And she is never the type of a damsel in distress and banking on a man to get her out of sticky situation. Eg, when she and LY was trapped in the taoist medicine hall, she did not sit there and hope LY can solve the prob. she goes hammering the wall with a scissors. Tat is our gal.

Very good watch so far. the production feel is more textured not as whitewashed as typical romcom. the Leads chemistry is very good to me. she is smart, kind and warm. he is cold calculative difficult boss but actually rather lonely and kind in his own way. She is pretty in a natural way - warm smiles and twinkling eyes. He is very handsome with his chiselled look but have very likeable microexpresssion even with slit eyes.

so far no super annoying characters and in fact cute supporting roles. the drama has a depth about homecook meals and food. simple dishes that is made at home , food that warms the hearts and souls because it is about love and warm company of family and friends, which i think is very relevant in big metropolitan when everyone is so busy making a living. Sort of a theme of Eat to live or Live to Eat. Work hard to have a good life yet works consume life.

Good pacing so far. one ep is aboujt 1 hour 10 min a total of 16 episodes but a bummer only update 2 ep a week from next week onwards. Gonna be a long wait.
