It is!!!! I hate their schedules now. I’ve mostly stuck with cdramas because of the pacing where you get the entire series in like 2-4weeks. Now they keep doing this second season thing, so annoying.
The director is doing great though! BJT is amazing with all the minute expressions but the director has done some…
Yes it’s really good on the whole, the two things that were just bothering me and wishing they weren’t done that way, but let’s not harp on the bad! We will see how it holds up, fingers crossed it hits 9!
I've never watched Hidden Love so I have a question. is this before HL? cuz Sang Yan's sister looks so young here…
It's almost like same universe but different timeline. They share the same characters but can't really view it as before/after events. It's easiest to just treat it as separate stories and find links between them which make it fun.
I am camping out too much on this page here for lack of things to watch. I went and read a bit about the 'Uncle' and WYF's reaction to his presence because I thought that bit was positively flawed and out of character. Lo and behold, spoiler alert:
In the novel, the ‘Uncle’ CXD did NOT get a job at her place of work. WYF did not know his whereabouts and hence she was still going about her life as normal. So her working late, leaving by herself up to that point still makes sense.
It was the director/screenwriter who changed this bit, no doubt to invoke drama. This is really frustrating because it makes WYF seem like she’s not doing enough to protect herself, knowing the perpetrator is right around the corner. When in the novel, she does.
I am really annoyed with this director, not just for this point. Repeating myself here, but this author has 3 works that have been adapted and rated super highly: Hidden Love, When I Fly Towards You and now The First Frost. It's clear the author is the key to success here, and it makes the competition between the directors even more rife and their direction a bigger deciding factor on the rating of the series. I just can't help but feel it would have benefited more from a different director/screenwriter.
i definitely feel a good part of how stupid she seems is to be blamed on the screenwriters of the drama specifically…
Thank you! I was just about to ask if anyone has read the novel because it seemed such a flaw in how this part plays out. This author has had 3 works that have been adapted into dramas and all are highly rated so it just didn't make sense she would make it play out like that - our FL is not stupid. Its comforting to know that it wasn't the author's choice but the work of the director/screenwriter (which is really sad for me too though, because I really like SY and WYF's story a lot). And here everyone is justifying her behaviour in the drama :(
I’m guessing you are referring to Kinaras comment and the likes of it? I actually don’t know why majority…
Not at all what I mean, sorry if that’s how it’s coming across and if it has brought any negative emotions. I am making an assumption about what you are referring to, not denying that, hence the question mark. And definitely didn’t mention anything about bullying, just difference of understanding and views and that one stood out. ✌️
Only few eps left and at this point in time we should already be understanding of WYF character already but it…
I’m guessing you are referring to Kinaras comment and the likes of it? I actually don’t know why majority of people find it so hard to understand what Kinara felt. I have been mugged before and during those days after, I had pepper spray on me always, I was afraid to walk out even during the day time, I was afraid to be alone. Granted, everyone responds to trauma differently but I’m not exactly a someone who gets afraid easily. So for me, it is absolutely illogical when the perpetrator is working in the same building/company, why she would still stay at the office alone after hours and walk alone at night etc. This part seems more of the director/screenwriters problem than characterisation problem. And I think that’s the frustrating part.
I wanted to stay quiet but well I can’t. So this creep who sexually assaulted her multiple times comes back…
Yeah I agree, there are some parts where I'm like, 'does this make sense?' That often happens a lot with any series for me lol. Then if I like the drama enough, I try justify it through my own logic XD.
I think it also depends on the tone of the narrative. because some people who enjoy this also enjoy HL. I've mentioned…
I refuse to have haters and trolls dictate what I post or the tone of my post, I am not giving them this power 😂. Putting one above the other is human nature, heck MDL rankings do exactly that lol. If I can convince even one person to not be worried about expressing their true opinion, I will be happy. We cannot let trolls and haters narrate our comments!
As if Some HL fans will discuss well, if only u see the fights online then u will understand why most people go…
If we let the nonsensical dictate how we react, we become puppets. We're reacting to things that don't make sense, getting upset about things that are pointless, and ignoring things that are actually meaningful.
It depends on what type of comparison is being brought up sometimes the said comparisons aren't even for room…
If we let the non-sensical dictate what we should and should not post, we limit the quality and scope of our discussions. We are then handing over control to them to decide the narrative of what we can discuss.
I think it also depends on the tone of the narrative. because some people who enjoy this also enjoy HL. I've mentioned…
I think a lot of people enjoy both, me included. I actually made a previous comment about HL, I hoped this would get a higher or same level rating as HL because I preferred this story so far and was told not to compare 🙃.
