I just finished watching this yesterday, and went to the office today (i.e. Monday) and really missed Zisheng. I like how sweet he is to the FL, and like how she looks at him with so much love. I also prefer the Second Part, as there's less of the annoying GM's fake crying, and there are more scenes with the Main Lead together.
I am happy for the FL that she got so much motherly love from the Empress, and I'm also happy for the ML that the Emperor loves him so much and trusts him completely. The Emperor is also funny.
I also like the sisterly relationship between the Empress and the Consort, that there's no scheming between them. It's just a shame they had to add some extra complications between the Main Lead, and that she often let people come between them. I would also prefer less focus on vengeance, and more focus on justice. There was a turn of events at some point, with a twist I didn't see coming, and the ending is a bit open. Overall, I like the scenes between the Main Lead very much (more than the other dramas), and their love for each other. I don't think I can watch anything else for a while but their loving scenes together.
This is unexpectedly good! Really like the ML, made me think of the male lead in The Double. There were also some really funny scenes thanks to him. It's just a shame that they wasted so much air time on the annoying Grandmother of the FL, especially at the beginning, which I found a bit boring, and I'm glad that YouTube has a speed function, so I could go through those scenes quickly without missing anything.
I also think that they should not have used this voice actor for the ML character. I think Wu Lei's voice would have been fine, or they could have used another voice actor for this role.
It took me a while to watch this, because I remember the adorable Xiao Fei Liu, so could not imagine Wu Lei to be a grown up man. Couple of years later, I see that he's grown up well, and played a very manly part very well. This is a beautiful story about honour, love, and friendship - and letting go of personal vengeance for the greater good: the peace and prosperity of a country and its people. I am very impressed with Wu Lei's portrayal here.
I also liked how they started on opposite sides of the battle, but ended up together. It's a beautiful love story, with much emphasis on friendship, and side love stories. I liked the main couple together, but am also happy for the side couples. It's just that they spent a lot of scenes on the Khatun and her evil deeds.
Interesting story, and I'm glad to learn something new about flowers. But I get a bit tired of all the arrogant men in the beginning turning warm. A cold boss turning caring. And I really don't like revenge dramas, even though they add a lesson at the end, I rather they don't spend that much time explaining the people who are vengeful, but rather teach people to let go of revenges and to be a good person. Your loved ones want you to live a good and happy life.
At some point the drama made me think of Stay With Me, which her parents were watching. And I thought the extra drama at the final episode was really unnecessary.
I do think, just like Stay With Me, that the protagonists could be honest about their sickness, because despite their sickness, they are still very good at what they do.
I love this song (https://youtu.be/xSS3_gCFlXY?si=wX8GfxW6zbzbpbk0), it feels like Xiaoyao is singing this for Xiangliu, but the reality is that I spent half an hour crying from the moment Xiangliu is about to die and let the tear he kept from Xiaoyao to merge into his eyes - becoming one with him forever, and it took her two minutes to marry someone else! - which is also when I stopped crying.
I discovered the ML in Legend of Haolan, and I discovered the FL in The Advisor's Alliance, so was delighted to discover this drama with both of them in the lead, and with an interesting story. (Although the story goes a bit differently from the description, it was still interesting.)
Despite the good portrayal of the Leads (the ML's ancient look reminds me of Hua Ze Lei), the other actors weren't as good, and there were quite some plotholes.
I'm also disappointed with how they made the women so childish and rude, and that they were calling sick people names, which is a lack of compassion; not something one should distribute.
Otherwise, I had to think about Bu Bu Jing Xin (FL) and Lang Ya Bang (ML), and the Prince of Nan Liang made me think of Princess Agents.
I really like the two of them together, they're so cute together, and really like their unwavering love for each other. Never thought much about the space, but find it beautiful how they showed their "Search for God" mission via the Aerospace Institute. Was very moved with the final episode. Just thought they spent too much time at the beginning on playing video games.
Their OST "Born to be the Eagle" from Chen Xue Ran is very beautiful.
At the end of SMY's life, I had to think about all his reasons, mainly to protect his family. I am especially touched by his friendship with Cao Pi - which is also what I thought about at the beginning of Part II when Cao Pi died. I did not expect him to die so soon. The emphasis on their friendship, and all the difficulties after - Cao Rui wanting to use him yet couldn't trust him completely, and the struggle of power in Cao Fang's reign, that made SMY who he is - and the SM family who they are.
It’s beautiful how Cao Pi died on the throne - he worked so hard to achieve, and his love with Guo. Sad that before he died he imagined seeing his best friend again, that they didn’t manage to see each other again, just because of the complicated position he was in as the emperor.
How his kind mother can have an evil son like Cao Rui - but also beautiful that when he died he wants SMY to bring him back to his mother's palace from the emperor's palace.
Bit disappointed with SMY while I was watching Part II; disgusting man with his second wife. The hunger he showed towards glory when he was faced with Zhu Ge Liang for the first time, and how calm, dignified Zhu Ge Liang was. It’s also quite sad how he helped so many emperors, who end up being distrustful and ungrateful towards him.
The new generation of emperors in the three kingdoms are really useless. I wonder what went wrong in their upbringing.
Although ZGL chose a very cruel way of fighting in the crave, I feel sad that such an intelligent strategist eventually lost to his age. Or was it because of his cruel act, that God didn’t allow him to win?
Those illusionary conversations between ZGL and SMY are quite memorable…
Even ZGL's fan creates fear… what a reputation.
Aren’t women forbidden in the army camp? Why is SMY's wife jealous while he already had a child with his second wife?
This has been on my list for quite a while because of Liu Tao, but I haven't had the concentration to watch this. Now I got into the story, it is quite interesting. Learnt so much about the Three Kingdoms (never read the story unlike my father so I even thought this took place before the Warring States, until they revert to it many times in this series). The cast is relatively old, I even got the feeling that Liu Tao's portrayal of her role is like an older woman.
I am very impressed with the actor who played Caocao. What a great actor he is. But what a terrible father to want his sons to fight, and to complain afterwards when they did.
It was quite sad when Caocao acknowledged in his older days that he can no longer be the one to unite the Three Kingdoms, and had to pass his ambitions upon his son; which is why he changed his mind on who should be the Crown Prince. Initially, he thought he would unite the three kingdoms, and wanted to pass it to a son who would be a kind ruler. But now he needs someone with the same ambition to want to unite.
It was beautiful how Caocao showed respect to his greatest rival when he died.
It's quite sad when one becomes old and starts to reflect. Two talents sharing a moment together. When Caocao knows that he's with someone (Si Ma Yi) whose name will be remembered in history, just like himself. And that New Year celebration, when he remembered all those who sacrificed themselves, was such a great speech. But the people were staring at him, as if they were waiting for him to die.
Quite upset with the new emperor, Si Ma Yi helped you to become King, and to become Emperor, and his wife even risked her own life to give him the seal, and you're trying to break his family because you cannot trust him - after all! I have always been on the side of this son to inherit from Caocao, but understood the psychological results from Caocao's treatment, that made him a complicated character.
I did not know that the FL is Ji Shu Ran in The Double, where I thought she looked beautiful even aged, I remember her from Cruel Romance, and thought she has a piggy face... What a difference make-up can make... I watched this because of the ML after Nirvana in Fire, where I liked his portrayal, but over here, I feel his communication style is very stiff.
I liked their loving scenes together, but am surprised how two people who love each other this much will break up many times over small things, and how often they misunderstand each other while they should trust and support each other. I am also surprised with how much hatred some people can feel and how vengeful some people are. Especially, how they blame others for things that are simply bad luck/accidents... The main couple started as very annoying persons, but the situation and their love turned them into pleasant persons again. How God sometimes gives us new chances in life.
What is also interesting is that we only know the things the FL remembers and discovers, so there are things we wondered which we only discover at the end. There were some very funny scenes that truly made me laugh. But overall, I'm not very impressed with this production. Glad YouTube has a speed function.
I just finished this for the second time after watching Season II; watched this years ago but didn't fully understand everything as I didn't read the subtitles then and didn't understood the ancient/complex Chinese so it was always on my list to rewatch. Now I fully understand everything, and it was so long ago that I didn't remember most things so it was like watching something new again.
I am so impressed about the friendships around Lin Shu/Mei Chang Su. How honourable they are. That's all I want to share. I cannot believe that there are people who could sacrifice so many life's (and for no necessary nor moral reasons either such as defending one's country) and that people can make such grave mistakes in their decision making impacting so many innocent lives. May we all be inspired to do good.
I'm so moved with the loyalty from these soldiers, and the love between the Xiao brothers - they could both die for each other, so rare. There was no unnecessary distrust between them, but unwavering love and trust in this beautiful family. I just didn't understood how short sighted the Prime Minister was, and how stupid the Queen.
Although Huang Xiao Ming is the biggest name in this production, I was surprised that his role - although a very suitable role for him: he was so smart/strategic/honourable, did everything so well in court, with the army, and with the royal family, and he would do anything for his family - was not the main role. His younger brother is the main character, whose development we've seen together with the conspiracy in the capital. He showed up because his brother was hurt, and he took upon their family responsibility out of a sense of obligation, but he was also able to let go of power while he had it all. It's really something to let go when you're so in the middle of everything.
I like how there are different plots going on, so it's always interesting. Was surprised to find out that there were two parts of the story, you can notice the change also in the end music.
I watched this because of Xu Kai and Yang Zi, but I'm happy that YouTube has a speed-function so I can fast forward the too many scenes of the annoying mother. Throughout the series you can see the personal development of both the ML and the FL in life and in career. I like how they trust and support each other so there are no unnecessary misunderstandings between their love. I also noticed that the ML got along very well with the FL's annoying mom, and that she's less annoying when she's with the ML. The Grandma was very sweet, and made wise decisions.
It's a romantic love story, that inspired their individual personal development; how each wanted to be a better version for one other and supported and trusted each other to do the right thing. As a lawyer myself, I just don't feel that all actors who played lawyers behaved like lawyers... There was too much screen time wasted on the marriage problems of the second brother.
I heard the OST before I saw the movie and was very impressed with the song. I've never cried for a second storyline before, but the love was very moving... As in the movie said, there are desires, some are good and some are bad. As long as there are desires, the snake will never die. Even people who did evil could be not completely evil, and had loving intentions at first. This movie completely shaken my beliefs about good and evil; I know good and evil, but I still feel sad for them.
I had to think about this story after finishing it; it stayed with me for a bit longer than most stories. I didn't know how to appreciate this ancient Chinese opera, as I never understood why they painted their skin, and how men played women, so I almost skipped it but I am glad that I did not. The friendship in this story makes this one very special as it's not an average romance drama. I'm glad that there is emphasis on such a beautiful friendship.
The drama portrayed one's passion for theatre, and the journey of an opera singer becoming the best in his field, the many obstacles along the road, and the people supporting him, and the friendships that blossomed. Next to this storyline, is a successful businessman whose life was changed by the talent of one opera singer, and how their mutual understanding for each other turned them into soulmates. How their daily lives changed with the Japanese invasion. It's also the first drama I've seen where the background is the transition from the Imperial era, into the post-Imperial era, and the Japanese invasion. I've seen many drama's about the time during Japanese invasion in Shanghai, but never the transition towards, and in Beijing.
I watched HXM's The Infiltrator before this, so was very pleased to see how free he was here instead of the restrictive life he had to lead in the other story, which he filmed after this. I am not sure if the writer disliked women, because I disliked all the women in this story, his wife being arrogant towards his friend, his sister being cruel to his friend, and his younger sister whom he treats so well misunderstood him and was so stubborn that she broke off their family relationship. I also was surprised with the casting of his wife, but got used to her at the end.
He came to see her and her father just to ask her to forget him? Ridiculous. I like some of the adaptations, like how they didn't waste any time at the beginning on the matchmaker in the original Disney movie, and how they made her the best warrior, and a general. But a bit strange that he pretended to be dead, and to give up his general role, so she would be stronger. Guess you can do anything when you're a prince. And why must he, the 7th prince, marry the princess, who wants to be the Wei Queen? There are 6 other princes before him who could be the next King.
They came and they left, disturbing his life, and he spend his best to keep them safe; yet, had to pretend not to be the intelligent hero that he is towards the Daughter, to keep them all safe. The daughter is really annoying; Ms Zhu too, felt bad for her at first, but she got at the end what she deserved. Lao Zhao's death was very heroic. It's a pity that his entire family could not be united. The ending was rubbish. Who's going to be the new head of 76, and of the GMD? What is going to be the role of Ms Tao? Niang Niang really doesn't look like Niang Niang, quite impressive to take a role that makes her look so old.
They literally only had 1 event and the rest was livestreams and I can tell that A LOT of ppl loved her makeup…
Everyone has a different taste it seems; for me, I'm disappointed that they made her eyes look different and her lips thicker, and hardly recognisable as herself
They literally only had 1 event and the rest was livestreams and I can tell that A LOT of ppl loved her makeup…
I spend some time looking it up for you, really don't like how they made her look here, I could hardly recognise her, and was surprised to notice that they put makeup on men as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKrUPmuxqf0.

Those were might thoughts.

I've been listening to this theme song and feel connected with the rich Chinese history. This song is a perfection between modern and traditional music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oB7XBGxiwM&list=RD4oB7XBGxiwM&start_radio=1
I think she looks very beautiful here, but also not very like herself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6SpW2SKRxc
Btw, are you her PR agent to know exactly how many events they've had?
