Hao Ling King is so nice to let FFB marry his daughter; why did Xiang Liu let him die? And why are XL and XY never honest to each other about their feelings? So frustrating...
But I like the friendships with Jing, also in S1 when he showed up at Feng Long's place while he was upset, just to fight it out because they are such good friends. Jing also seems to understand Xiang Liu with the characters he wrote down (Loyalty and Righteousness). The "Dog" is also a funny character. Cang Xuan's response was priceless.
First episode and she told her Grand Father she can never look for Xiang Liu because of her position, and her Grand Father made Cang Xuan persuade Xiang Liu to surrender. I just don't understand Xiang Liu. She asked him whom she should marry, and he did not have the courage not to laugh it away. So sad. Also sad for Cang Xuan, he is a good King, or he wants to be, but feels trapped in all the alliances he has to make to maintain peace and prosperity. Sad for Jing as well, but he will be liberated with the truth at some point. Everything is so sad. I started watching The Double whilst waiting for S2, it is very good, has a very talented and charming ML, and has a happy ending.
im sure i missed something haha but what did that consort say something about a palace maid to the king before…
She asked Xiao Heng not to tell the King about the palace maid. That was what the Princess used to blackmail her before, and Jiang Li with the help of the Duke found the maid, who was the witness to her killing another Consort in the past. But when the King asked the Duke: "I heard she left you a word before she died," the Duke (as his best friend from childhood) told him the truth of what the Consort said before she died, and from the facial expression it seemed that the King already knew.
This scene is one of my absolute favorites in the drama. Earlier, he was crowing that XH was abandoned, but he…
He said the one mistake he made was to participate in the exam; all the other things he did he found excuses for them. Seriously, he killed her and buried her alive. And blamed Xiao Heng that she's no longer interested in him. But I do pity him, because he always missed her, and the only time he smiled was in their memories, and when he thought he saw her and she smiled at him. I do feel bad for him that the Princess chose him, and that he wasn't strong enough to refuse her from the beginning. It was nice of XFF to wish him well in his next life.

Run Yu actually repented at the end, but SYR never even saw where he went wrong. The audacity to even consider that XFF would overlook the fact that he killed her.
I’m glad they added this. The final of ep 40 was unclear if he really came back or if it was a dream/illusion (of either of her or him, as she was waiting for him and he looked at the sky before another group came to kill him at battle). I’m glad that there is finally a happy ending of a beautiful C-drama. Too back his left and right hands had to die, they were really good.
Yes, an epic and poetic HE. They get married in episode 40. There is an extra episode 40.5 (5 minutes) about their…
I'm glad they made that, episode 40 ended too open, that I wasn't sure he really came back or that it was a dream/illusion. So glad that there is a happy ending in a good historical C-drama. Too bad his two loyal left and right hands had to die...
Hmm you had me agreeing right up until the question, because I believe XL wanted to ask "Do you want to marry/be…
Yeah, XL was learning to love, because the first time XY wanted to place the bug on him didn't work. Only later, when he developed feelings for her. She already had feelings for him by capturing him in her Mirror. He's the only one she captured in the Mirror, even her father saw it.
Xiang Liu is the only one who really loves XY selflessly
