As I wrote promotional events, it could not have meant the drama. I know how Yang Zi looks in various dramas, she's beautiful as she is in an authentic way, it's a shame that they make her look different in those promotional events (especially on some I've seen after Season 1).

I've seen more (also after Season 1)... Seems like a lot of people only care about looking beautiful with those make up extensions, without caring much about their authentic natural beautiful looks...
It's a shame that the first half an hour were repetitions of the First Part of the Movie, and the first hour was a retelling of the First Movie, and the other half of this movie was the second Titanic. So upsetting that back then it was possible to oversell the boat tickets, while there were multiple boats going back and forth between Shanghai and Taiwan at that time, and resultantly, the captain would decide to close the lights to avoid being inspected, leading to this disaster, together with a drunk staff, and no one behind the steer, leading to so many deaths. What a tragedy, so right after the war.
I think in this Second Part, the role of Zhou Yun Fen is the main role from the beginning until the end (even though Zhang Zi Yi is more famous as an actress) and the emphasis was on the women of that era. I don't understand how their beautiful house in Taiwan that's been there for a long time would not survive the local weather. The second main role is played by Keneshiro Takeshi, with a sad ending. I'm glad his sister in law was a decent person.
Huang Xiao Ming only showed up in memories, so we don't know if he's role is still alive or would return. I liked his storyline with Zhou Yun Fen the best.
If you watch this movie separately from the First Part, then this might be a better production, as there was a lot of fighting/bombing/war scenes in the First Part.
What I find a pity is that in all the promotional events, Yang Zi's make up has been done in such a way that she's hardly recognisable; everyone can look beautiful with those fake make up tricks, but I find her natural self a lot more authentic. I also find it a real pity that they are putting make up on the male artists; it makes them not very muscular...
We can indeed see different perspectives from people in different social classes/roles, but I personally feel that most of the scenes were war scenes, with bloody fighting/bombing. A few people in the movie mentioned the meaninglessness of fighting your own people, leading to so many deaths.
Huang Xiao Ming should be the first person mentioned, as his role started from the beginning until the end, and was the main role in the movie. No matter how romantic his last words were, I'm sure his wife would rather have him return to her alive than to die taking their picture that can be taken again.
This was all an illusion, the real story is that XY became the Empress of Dahuang, and CX was her husband in Xiyan, XL in Chenrong, and Jing in Haoling (because his family is everywhere anyway so doesn't matter). Happy ending.
I have not cried as heartbrokenly as I have when Xiang Liu died... what a beautiful person. How great that they made even his death so powerful, his blood, his intelligence - and beautiful how even his opponents showed him respect. It makes me resent the kings who had to force them into this, while they were hardly a threat anymore. And Xiao Yao only cried, before she soon got married. All the things that Xiang Liu did for her and Jing, no one ever knew... This demon (and Chichen) had the most beautiful love.
I like Feng Long too, he might not have loved Xiao Yao (the most) but he hasn't loved another woman either. He was a good friend, good brother, good son, and good leader. Not always as intelligent military as he wanted to be, but otherwise a very upright person.
I like how Cang Xuan remained a good king, and did not kill Jing. Beautiful how he let Xiao Yao go at the end, but I don't understand why Xiao Yao did not keep contact.
It's good that Jing had a pure heart (almost always but especially for Xiao Yao), and that he could choose her until the end.
I am disappointed with Xiao Yao at the end. Even A Nian knows how much Xiang Liu loves Xiao Yao, and she keeps misunderstanding him, and at the end didn't even know anything about the lovers bug she planted on him.

I've just been crying, for Feng Long's death (his sister realising how she lost a good brother), the speech XL gave before unbugging them. He did so many things that XY never knows, and misunderstood him.
Wow, what a crazy tea, Grandpa! I actually cried during the Phoenix Flower Park scene, and felt bad for Cang Xuan for loving XY so much. The things he said when he thought she was poisoning him and would die together. Luckily, it's just the crazy Queen. I'm so glad CX didn't do it.
Poor Feng Long, how can he be so honourable and dignified, while his sister is like this.
Really like Gu Xu, he's not only supportive of Lin Shuang but also good to her daughter, parents, and friends. Just too bad that he showed up late, and wasn't in screen much until later in her life, so doesn't feel like the 1st ML. Like the friendship between Lin Shuang and Jiang Xi (and glad that she met Ma Ding), their personal development into become stronger women. Really dislike Wei Ming, his parents and Huang Jia Yi. They all got what they deserved.
I find the ending a bit disappointing, especially the misunderstanding between Gu Nian and Feng Sheng. At times it reminds me of the main storyline of The Good Wife.
That was unexpected, everything was well and calm, and suddenly, everything changed... The most crazy wedding ever, but what great acting from XY and CX! And XL experiencing so many things through XY. Grandpa sees through everything, and surprisingly, XY is quite smart too! I had expected Jing to be a bit stronger in the fight, since he is talented in so many ways...
