Just finished EP07 and moved on to episode 8, but I'm struggling with ML's psycho behavior. Will his character…
He does get better but that behavior was totally weird and not in line with his character before or those 2 episodes. There is no excuse for his psychopathic behavior and I think he was forgiven way too easily. I like the story and everything but this was a huge red flag on his part.
One of my favourite drama & was totally heartbroken with the unexpected ending. However, I feel the ending is…
Yes. That's a pretty interesting viewpoint, I also thought that way at first. However, I believe it would've been more impactful if they had ended the "dream" in 3 or 4 episodes and depicted how she dealt with the aftermath of her awful deeds (ie showing remorse & stuff). The dream was wayyyy too long for it to be just a glimpse of what could've been. Anyways thanks for sharing your opinion with me.π
I'm pretty sure that ending ep was there to help this drama pass censorship. Otherwise it was a surprisingly nice series. Hua chian is one of the most interesting FLs I've seen in a chinese drama.
Wait, wait. Xiang Liu is a well-written character, but I find it funny that some people in the audience quickly…
I agree with what you said about his character being abusive as hell. I understand him but I don't see how that counts an excuse for his behavior. And what's with the constant neck grabbing. π€¦π»ββοΈπ It's so uncomfortable to watch, especially when it happens a lot, even in later episodes. Anyways the actor is doing a fantastic job portraying this tormented character. I look forwad to his next projects.
Hi :) I recommend you to read this article about the subject: https://kisskh.at/discussions/lost-you-forever/120191-are-cang-xuan-and-xiao-yao-blood-relatives-in-the-drama…

Thank you so much! This make sense now. I seached again after commenting and I came to the conclusion that xiaoyao's mother is empress' adopted daughter/disciple. It turns out they have omitted some details but forgot to delete the part when that person says xiaoyao is also emperor's grandchild lol. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense.
Hi im on the 2nd ep and I have a question, what is the relationship between xiaoyao and cang xuan? Cang xuan's mother is the sister of xiaoyao's mother? And cang xuan's mother was xiyan emperor's daughter in law, right? Then xiaoyao is not xiyan king's grandchild, cang xuan is. However why in the 2nd ep (storyteller part) does a person in the audience say "xiyan emperor is xiaoyao's maternal grandfather why cant't he find her" ??? I'm confused.π₯²π₯²
Could someone please kindly spoil everything for me? I watched the first two episodes and they got me interested but I don't have time (or enough conviction) to watch it till the endπ₯² The main question is why the evil ghost is doing all these murders and what happenes to the main characters in the end?
Why and how is the desire to avoid sexism on my side about my ego, but replying my comments, showing no signs of understanding my whole point on your side is not? Seriously I don't get it. I made it crystal clear that I was talking about the cliche of smart guy/dumb woman itself not this particular drama (that I haven't even watched, hence my first question!). How did I know ? Because MOST chinese teenage dramas are doing this! And this fact is really harmful. I repeat: IT IS SEXIST and DANGEROUS to ALMOST ALWAYS portray women as academically incapable! Not in ONE DRAMA, but in MANY. My arguement was never just about this one particular drama! Here I put it in caps lock so that you understand my point hopefully because I wanted to leave the conversation knowing I have done everything to convey my points, as you seem to at least care about this matter like I do. (Even if you didn't understand my exact arguement). Many don't even bother. Again, contrary to what you said it's not about my ego, it's about equality and I (and many others) want to see it happen in asian dramas. This is the last time I'm wishing you a good day lol π
When did I say they should excel everything? I believe i wrote "balanced" for a reason. And did you just call sexism an art form? Because I was CLEARLY talking about how sexist these type of overused cliches are, not about all other aspects of a drama. It's been years that humans have realized that Sexism is damaging to both sides, and NO, writing based on reality and avoiding streotyping females, sth that you call censorship, is not damaging. Anyways you clearly don't understand my point. There is no reason to have this discussion anymore. Have a good day
I'm not sure about nu-feminist propaganda you mentioned and I'm not interested, what I want is well written and ballanced female and male main characters that are based on real humans with real emotions. As a victim of constant sexism in my country and a human being I deserve that. If you, for whatever reason, are unable to comprehend why it is wrong to portray female leads like this in "almost every" school based drama I can't really change your mind. What I can do is to say what I meant, and hope for better scripts and empathic responses of like minded people.
As a matter of fact yes that's sexist as well. However, what we see in dramas is the systematic portrayal of women being inferior to men in terms of academic performance, money, social status, ... which is damaging to younger girls' self- steem and confidence (with them being the targeted audience of dramas). In aforementioned series not only we don't see guys being in an inferior position as a result of their ONLY FLAW, but also they enjoy wealth, popularity(among mindless "fan-girls" ironically, another cliche!!!) great academic achievements,... so on. Male leads in most of these dramas are not crippled by anything, they live their life and enjoy their privileges, while the female leads struggle to solve a simple math question and always rank last in their class!
What does barbie have to do anything with my statement? I haven't watched it so I won't give an opinion about that. I know what sexism is because I have dealt with it my whole life. What I said was about how most chinese dramas tend to portray such dynamic between the MAIN CHARACTERS (ie ML being a genius and FL being not so smart, often in need of academic/financial/... assistance of our "heroic" male lead). This doesn't happen in just ONE DRAMA. It's a well known, misogynistic cliche that many many south asian dramas tend to overuse. So yes it's sexism because it's repeated systematically.
The main question is why the evil ghost is doing all these murders and what happenes to the main characters in the end?
