Rumours have been circling that it has second season. Even ‘Marcus Here’ on YouTube mentioned it and a variety of other drama info sites have it down as season 1
It’s definitely a filmed as longer run series and felt like the first arc of the story, and also editing-wise it hasn’t been cut to oblivion like “Shinning Just For You”.
Whether iQyi release the rest is up to the fates. I suspect that they may air drop second after the ratings are in, but as we all know from experience this is not always the case.
I hope they do release the second season as it was an intelligent and enjoyable drama. Plus in my opinion I found HJJ, his acting really developed in range especially in subtle expression. I think the year hiatus he took has been beneficial and he has come back stronger.

Some other sites have this ambiguously labelled as ‘season 1’ so I suspect that they split it, air dropped the first half to test the waters and they may sneak in ‘season 2’ when no one is looking if the viewership/reaction is there
I need to stop watching lips of this on YouTube, i am loving the strong FL and ML vibes, but I am torturing myself with the Jeremy Tsui eye flirting, damn it that man could produce chemistry with a rock. I will be starting this once it’s finished airing so I am fingers crossed for a happy ending and not a ‘Autumn Ballad happy ending ‘…I might be still a little resentful about the last 32min of the final ep.

I hear that the amnesia trope makes an appearance. Being that I find amnesia and noble idiocy personally the most hated of tropes, how annoyed will I be?
On the one hand it’s a republican era drama which generally means everyone is going die and the end will be heartbreaking, which contradicts my “no sad ending” rule.
And on the other is Zhang He yet again looking particularly fine especially in the period clothing.
Damn it Zhang He, be less handsome…my plan to watch list has out grown the remaining years left of my lifespan
eh, what now?! Don’t get me wrong the first season was a pure naughty indulgence, and I know I shouldn’t have enjoyed it, but I did, I willing to admit to that…but I am wondering if this is actually a sequel or is just all the parts they edited out of the first season, like most of the actual storyline 🤣

I think a more accurate representation of the FL character (at least for what I seen up so far) is she has a ‘keen investigative mind’ with the common sense of a crayfish.
Is there character growth for the FL? I am enjoying the light heartedness of the drama, but I am feeling this little need to dry slap the FL at her constant squealing of “help me”.
I am trying the balance my expectations for the rest of drama
