I had no idea what I expected from this movie beforehand but whatever they served me, I just loved it. Totally unexpected but touching. And the title which seems really random before is really clever once you finish the movie.
I first heard about this cult and the attack when I was looking for the events behind Sion Sono's Forest of Love. The most heartbreaking thing apart from the subway tragedy was the reason why people come to depend on these cults and become so ready to blindly follow a person. Didn't read much because the information was all scattered and never knew they committed other crimes too. So thanks for this article and all the info about the organisation and the movie references. I loved Eureka but never knew it was inspired by these events.
Apart from a few issues I had (come on, those were some really bad gunshot scenes) it was an addicting and nice watch. Somehow Jdramas have succeeded in providing the best entertainment in a short span of time. It was just the perfect length.
This movie is imagination and creativity at its best. The vibrant colours and video game editing with the contrast of the heavy theme of the plot results in a really engaging and unique experience.
I am sure that even little kids our more decisive and honest about their feelings than Haruta ever was throughout the show. Like dude literally went with the flow each and every time xD
This show was one of the most entertaining and fun experience I had in the recent years. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed the zany and nonsensical humour present here.
And isn't Mikazuki's crush on Kiriyama just adorable.
The drama was nice and the cinematography is worth mentioning, but but but, these guys here breached their contract duties in like, almost every episode. I mean come on, there is no way you just ignore the basis of your contract like that. Atleast sensible guy Kei *mentions* it twice or thrice XDD
The best thing about this drama (and this stands true for all the 3 dramas Lee Soo Yeon has written) for me is the room left open for discussion and interpretation. With the intricate plot, complex characters and layers of social issues and depth, there is nothing black or white here. Each viewer might view a character or situation in a completely different light than the other. And this is exactly what sets this drama apart.
Maybe they couldn't include much because of the time limit but the film felt confusing and by the end, I had more questions than answers. Still it was an interesting and engaging watch and the acting department was definitely the best part.
"The world isn't made up with just what you can see with your eyes." Definitely one of the most peaceful things I have ever watched, without a trace of any conflict or drama. However, this may not be everyone's part of interest as it can be really slow and frankly speaking, nothing really happens throughout the show. But for me that was the charm of the show. Just good and relaxing vibes with a pinch of fantasy.
Doraemon's pocket doesn't hold a candle next to Mita's bag. Though she denied it, I am sure she even has a dynamite and bulldozer somewhere in there xD.
If only they would have added more variations to the plot, I am sure I would have liked it more. It just felt repetitive after some time. But is was enjoyable nonetheless.
That ending...WOW. Just perfect and completely unexpected but so fitting for this crazy and entertaining show. Kimura Yoshino was so good as Maria. Her expressions, little actions and the way she played out the whole character is definitely worth mentioning. And whoever chose that ending song- nice choice.
This is one of those movies which I think would have been better as a drama. Everything here feels so sudden and random and even the ending felt too absurd. Maybe watch it just for the action and a few thrills but don't expect a really good plot.

Cosy, relaxing, comforting and highly nostalgic.

That's exactly how I felt about this movie.
I mean he had a considerable amount of screen time lol
