I guess not every drama is everyone’s cup of tea. I will say that it is refreshing to see a more forward and strong FL and calmer ML - challenges your usual characterization of ML/FL.

Yeah that’s what I heard from the novel. I did read excerpts from the novel with LMX (mind you I’m not totally literate as there are no translations), and was so moved by his devotion. Just not sure how much they will show in the drama since scenes always get cut - which is sad

He always plays a chic character so I was surprised by how funny and talkative he is. So funny

Loving LMX’s character so much. I know Anle and Hanye are the OTP but I love to see LMX on screen and also his interactions with Anle, kinda wish they included snippets of their childhood and how LMX became her guard. Tbh surprised he was her guard considering he suffers from an illness that affects his health

Oh yeah definitely saw some Wen Kexing in there altho I do like his hair all up esp when he is in his military uniform in those trailers

I LOVE LUO MING XI and the subtleties in his interaction with Anle

Wow sounds like such a powerful couple, they are each other’s match. Wish they stayed more in line with how the characters were portrayed in the novel. Perhaps they had to really cut it down and make it lighthearted (at least in the beginning)

Aww too bad we don’t see this. Altho the comedy is fluffy and cute, I appreciate the strategies and intellect and schemes more. Would’ve loved to see that

Good. He dedicated his life to support Anle in her journey. Basically does a lot of things behind the scenes, and of course with revenge, it’s not a fun thing to do (so he isn’t there to make friends). He is cool and chic but secretly loves Anle very much, probably no less than Han Ye

Been waiting for this drama to air and am liking it so far. Ngl I was skeptical about GJ and RB’s chemistry, not sure why, but I wasn’t sure how they’d work as an OTP. But so far it’s developed quite naturally. RB’s portrayal is natural and not over the top (with the flirty and cute behaviour).

I want to mention - LOVE the strong female leads in the show. That scene with Anning and Anle was beautiful. I can see why ppl love Anning. Love the sismance.

Also, as flawless as Han Ye is as the male lead (from what I’ve heard from the novel as well), I have a huge soft spot for Luo Ming Xi, not your typical nice guy SML but very cool and chic. I already know my heart is gonna break for him (especially after reading excerpts from the novel). I wish there were 2 Di Zi Yuans for both ML and SML.

With 40 eps cut down to 39, I’m a bit nervous about how things will play out, let’s hope they don’t butcher it.

LOVED this! I think the second was even better than the first as it dived more into the main characters' backstory. Great acting, chemistry, storyline and CGI effects.

I’m so glad I gave this drama a chance! It was a pleasant surprise, such a refreshing romcom series. It involves a couple that’s different from your cookie cutter type of romcom couple. Even though many of the scenes (which the cast and crew worked so hard on) were deleted with choppy editing, the main leads still carried the show with their great chemistry! No drama is perfect, and this one definitely had its flaws, but I really enjoyed watching this series each week. I will definitely miss it. Thank you to the cast and crew for the hard work.
