I think her wish was to forget all the ppl she had bonds with, probably because it was painful to hear their cries…
It was around the 45 min mark when she had a convo with Jade Emperor about what she learned (that only she can save herself), that at the time she was in so much pain she wanted to cut ties with the world and even disappear. Her experiences allowed her to learn how precious life was.
In ep 2, the jade king said that she will fulfill ryeon wish if ryeon agree to work in Jumandeung. Anyone knows…
I think her wish was to forget all the ppl she had bonds with, probably because it was painful to hear their cries when she died. She can only achieve that if she heals and moves on from the past
Yeah no story is perfect so I’m content with how they ended it (it was the best outcome considering the limited time) but they left out a good chunk of PJG’s background after GR’s death, no one just chooses to be a reaper. Plus the other even talked about him taking over Ha Dae Soo’s post in Hell in ep 15. His revelation on regaining his memories could’ve had more impact considering all the build up. But I guess the ending allows viewers to use their imagination
I actually liked that they didn't rekindle it. Personally, if they had I'd have found it disappointing and a bit…
Lol yeah my shipper side is heartbroken but I know logically, it wouldn’t make sense for them to be together. It wouldn’t be fair to others who had their fates broken. But seeing that they continued working at Jumadeung is comforting in a way right? They healed and whatever else is up for imagination/interpretation
I'm happy with the ending. It didn't feel rushed to me. I knew GR and JG wouldn't end up together romantically.…
Yes, there was closure but what happens in the future is up for imagination. Fates can be broken but new ones can be made with their choices maybe? Loved seeing them work together and maybe one day reuniting with CJW
Ok fine I won’t be able to digest a tragic ending anyway so I’ll take this gladly. Ngl I needed a more “meaningful”…
Totally agree with you. The closure was kind of too simple and fast, but better than seeing him say goodbye and then reincarnate - never seeing GR again
I know right? I blame the chemistry they had, and also how tragic things were. But GR’s last line in the episode really added a nice finishing touch. Iconic. Whenever I see pink eyeshadow, I’ll think of her
Just finished the last episode with subs and wow, what a journey! Can't believe it's over.
I realize that this ending was better than what I had anticipated. Yes, it would've been nice to learn about why PJG chose to be a reaper, they also mentioned that he would be taking over Ha Dae Su's post in Hell in ep 15 but didn't elaborate...When I saw the spoilers on his conversation with GR, I felt like it was resolved way too easily considering the build up. But then again, perhaps that's all GR needed to heal right? Sometimes it just takes a few words to shift everything. She just needed her feelings heard and validated. They were able to finally see each other's point of view. She was able to understand the pain of those left behind (how he felt when she died, through her experience watching Cho Hui get into an accident). He was able to empathize with those who were trapped and had no way out.
It's heartbreaking to know the fact that their thread of fate will never be repaired. I'd like to think that a new fate between them was created, a fresh slate, as they continued to work in Jumadeung without the pains of their past. She continues to rock the pink eyeshadow, which I feel like was an indication of her love for him. I mean even if PJG reincarnated before, the fact that he was still drawn to GR even in the afterlife means something right? He always had a soft spot for her, and his emotions were always on the high around her. Gosh their love and chemistry was just too amazing!
I knew the director organized everything because GR had to save herself. She can only be free when she saves her soul. Lovely to see CJW continuing his life as a good human being, going to the lengths to help others. If RG is the logic/principle of the trio, he is the heart, and GR is the essence.
Thank you so much to the cast and crew for this beautiful series. I will miss the team very much. The ending ost (Red Light) will always be iconic.
Saw all the spoilers on Twitter and damn that was rushed. I mean the ending was as good as they could make of it with the limited time but with all the buildup throughout the series, it kind of resolved too easily. Seems like some things weren’t really explained esp regarding PJG and GR. I’m waiting for eng subs but already feeling the withdrawals! Don’t wanna say goodbye!
I know it’s kinda insane, MBC just released another ep 16 teaser which shows the first time GR and PJG meet again after they both are reapers -I mean I would’ve expected that to be shown in today’s episode. How is there time to wrap everyone else’s stories if they leave all these flashbacks to the last min.
The main problem I have is that there is so much potential to dive deeper into the main characters’ stories. They dropped snippets of CJW’s past life but don’t really show how he is connected to GR and the rest, they could’ve showed his background more. Jade emperor even said “you’re the same as ever”. And RG now doesn’t itch his nose anymore - does that mean he is moving on? And of course our main couple’s story - too many issues. My mind is boggled! 20 ep would’ve been helpful
I feel the same, their level of chemistry was so unexpected. I didn’t expect any loveline. So sad with how things played out up to this point, 1 ep is not enough for the ending
There are too many issues and questions, and it's literally driving me crazy that we only have 1 ep left to talk about all of this...I feel like a broken record but seriously why do they do this to us!?!?!?! - Our boy CJW - they showed a glimpse of his past as a freedom fighter, and director says in ep 14 ''you're still the same as ever''. Showing his storyline will take time, I mean what is the point of dropping little bread crumbs about it if they won't elaborate? Plus it'll take some screen time to show him saying goodbye and returning home with the lessons learned
- PJG and GR (our tragic lovers) - there is still SO much pain between them and even more so after what happened in ep 15 that would take an ep or two to resolve itself. If GR is meant to save PJG and free him from his regrets/pain, then what happens to her after he is able to move on? She has essentially gone down a path of no return...so much injustice towards their characters. I held out hope for a miracle to mend their bond (thinking that the director was trying to not only help them heal but also pave a way for a second chance) but such a futile dream...it's so unfair. I wish they were never connected in the first place!
- RG - he resolved his regrets with his mother, but will he really continue his job as a reaper just to watch over his mom lifetime after lifetime? Shouldn't he move on?
