Just finished the drama and I already miss MCS and his moments with Fei Liu, Meng Zhi, etc. I found a deleted scene that showed MCS was still alive at the end, I was told they originally included in the ending credits, anyone know? Also, what was the ending like in the novel?
I know there are many who are not fond of the main couple, but I personally love them. They kind of remind me of Chang Ge and A Sun from The Long Ballad because they don't align with your conventional OTP. I like how Wu Shuang is spunky, head strong and assertive. She has her flaws and is quite naive and simple minded at times, but has a good heart. YQ may have appeared to not be interested in her in the beginning, but there were subtle hints that he had a crush on her from day 1 (e.g. keeping her amulet from ep 1). I admire the level of trust and understanding WS and YQ have. They are not only childhood friends, but comrades who can work with one another, and of course are lovers. It's not everyday that you see a relationship that ticks all three boxes.
For censoring many scenes that were originally supposed to be in the drama, They made the Best out of it and it…
I really don't like her character. The story really didn't need her as she didn't serve much of a purpose. I don't understand the development of her character, felt very choppy. Also, the love triangle seemed to have come out of no where...she supported Wushuang and then all of a sudden became all jealous.
Feel bad for he biao, he was so loyal, sweet and caring. Fengling doesn't deserves him. I like this drama and…
She is honestly the most infuriating character in the show. I don't understand the purpose of her character and how she just suddenly became this power thirsty woman. I don't buy her reasoning for wanting power either, doesn't make sense. Also, I was hoping there would be no love triangle. In the beginning, I appreciated how the female leads became friends and were naturally drawn towards each other (before knowing their true relationship). Fengling's feelings toward Yunqi seemed friendly and platonic and she supported Wushuang and Yunqi. Then all of a sudden, she started becoming jealous? Like what?! Even if she started having a crush on him later on, Wushuang's her friend.

It’s been years since this drama first released but I decided to rewatch it and fell in love with the characters and heart warming storyline the second time around. Despite the minor flaws (no drama is perfect), I have to say this is one of the few worth rewatching whenever you want something to bring you joy. The highlight was definitely seeing the characters grow and develop as individuals and as a unit. I’ve watched so many shows over the years, so I appreciate ones that focus on this aspect.
I love how even though YJ is your classic arrogant tsundere, he is quite self aware, honest and willing to try. NI is a refreshing, quirky female lead - although childish on the outside, she is actually very mature and in tune with feelings of others. I loved how she became such an influence/inspiration to so many people. I also loved the cinematography, the laughs, the mundane yet wholesome moments…the beauty lies in its simplicity.
I wasn’t bothered by the lack of skinship because the love was shown through their actions and the little moments. The OTP appeared to be polar opposites, but connected in a way that was so intimate - seeing how their hearts and souls connected through music was just beautiful…speaking a language only they understood. Contrary to his father, YJ walked on a path that he felt was more fulfilling - one which he will walk on beside NI.
Thank you to the cast and crew - I think I might just rewatch it again!
Rewatched it after years since it was released and fell in love all over again. Never watched the original or the manga but I liked it as a standalone series. Heartwarming, wholesome and made me smile.
I remember Lee Soo Hyuk not getting that much screen time in Doom at Your Service either, did the drama "born…
speaking of born again, i don't think i can get over it. i was so disappointed LOL they did his character dirty. the way the female lead was written was so inconsistent in the latter half, even though the 2 ML's did a great job at acting, the script did them dirty lol. maybe it's because lee soo hyuk is just too good at playing the broody tragic characters that they type cast him and so he is never given the lead role? but he definitely has what it takes
Loved it!!Also... sincerely hoping that Ha Dae Soo (King of the Underworld) gets his own series!!!!!
Man there was so much potential with his character, too bad it was just a cameo role. Just when you think the main cast are the coolest, he knocks everyone out the ball park
I wish more came out of Goo Ryun’s relationship with Joon Gil because their love story and life was so sad,…
She had to save herself and realize that life is precious even with all the hardships. That’s why she was tasked to save others.
Her initial wish was mentioned during her convo with the director in ep 16 - to cut all ties with the world and disappear forever. But now her wish is to continue her work in RM
i dont know if this is a spoiler or no... but may be it is..but i am not going to tag it as spoiler since i dont…
I agree. It felt pretty anti-climatic considering how strong the feelings of love, guilt, regrets, pain, etc were. The things they did (even if they weren't the right approach) were out of their love for each other. She sacrificed herself thinking it'd be better for him, he got rid of gossipers to lessen her pain. Not the right approach as they were both pained by it all but I was expecting a bigger emotional catharsis during the reveal. They should've shown that they each understood each other's point of view.
Perhaps he apologized more because of his strong feelings against suicide, which invalidated her feelings. Always giving her a hard time about it without knowing the truth. And forcing her to watch Cho hui get hurt. Ofc it would only be fair for her to acknowledge his suffering too. Considering how traumatized he was to the point of asking the director to lock his memories, it just seemed to simple with the way they healed after a 1 min convo. But I guess they just needed a level of understanding, not many words needed to be said at that point. The pacing/lack of time definitely didn't help this storyline
His pride gave her and rm team a hard time bc he hated suicide but after knowing why she saves suicidal ppl and…
Thanks! Yeah I feel like they were due to feelings, so when they said that it made me sad lol. With GR saying their thread is broken and him saying it’s pride
Can someone explain what PJG meant by pride in that convo with GR? Was he referring to the time when he tried getting rid of the gossipers or when he came to rescue her from being arrested by mr. Ha? How does rescuing her from mr Ha help with his pride lol
Gonna take me time to get over the drama withdrawals. Rewatched the scene where the RM trio say their goodbyes as CJW returns to the land of living - THE FEELS. Thanks for the great conversations everyone!
While I think the ending was rushed, at least it was some what happy. I didn't like the ending between Goo Ryun…
I know this isn't a romance, but considering all that buildup about their past, I was expecting a more strong reveal/revelation especially when PJG recovered his memories. He didn't seem as shocked/distraught as expected (considering it was so painful that he asked the director to lock them up). The talk they had was even more heartbreaking because it seemed a little flat/cold/simple? Would've liked to know why/how he became a reaper too (no one just chooses that life).
But overall better than what I expected. Initially thought they would just move on/reincarnate, never to see each other again. I'd like to think that not only fate determines the outcome but also choices. GR was meant to be in Hell for eternity, never to see PJG again. But they did meet again (even though it's in Jumadeung not the human realm), and he eventually remembers her. If it's up to my imagination, maybe that's hope for a fresh slate and left with many possibilities? I blame their amazing chemistry for this drama withdrawal LOL
