I am advertising BM (:
It is a must-watch as of now. At the pace it's going, I have high hopes in it.
I usually would object myself from placing it on the list when it has not finished airing, but this is another type of The Princess's Man for me. It's epic, and it's so rare that I come across this kind of drama.

I'm also pretty easy-going when it comes to dramas. I watch practically any genre. The only ones that can tick me off are the slapstick/nonsensical comedy.

Truthfully, I love "dramatic" dramas which usually are tearjerkers. Though, a lot of them are have too many unnecessary melodrama moments in them that doesn't move me at all.

Yes! I'm also very much into actors that can move me. Some of the actors cry like crazy, yet it seems fake. There are others who cry with passion (like Joo Won in Bridal Mask) and don't care whether they look ugly. Those are the ones who win my heart. I also agree that natural delivery is a must.

What are considered overrated dramas? Like, Secret Garden?

I guess it really depends on the whole premise and drama set up. It depends on my mood too, I guess - haha.

Endings do play a big part indeed. Though, it's so rare to see a satisfying ending. Like, even if we disregard the ending, some dramas start out really well and drift off to who-knows-where-land. It's rather disappointing when you're truly invested in the characters as well. I guess I'm more lenient on endings because a lot of them are butchered. I'm just happy if the ending makes sense - haha.

Yes! Every time there's a wonderful OST, especially to my addictive dramas, I immediately put it into my mp3 and listen to it constantly.

No problem at all (:
Min Jung and Gong Yoo are adorable in Big (:
I'm fine as usual. What about you (:?
(Jeez, a lot of smiley faces - haha)
By the way, you should totally watch Bridal Mask if you like The Princess's Man. I really recommend it. It's my current addiction!

I don't watch many Japanese dramas, so I wouldn't know, sorry ^^;.

I have so many dramas on my hand right now. Though, I'll look into Can You Hear My Heart. I did take a few glimpses of it when my mom was watching, but I didn't really notice it.

Btw, Do you know where we can download dramas?

Also, this might sound random, but I'm so obsessed with BM that I go to read on dramabeans, and I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me then... but I recall seeing your name. I usually don't look at usernames when reading the comments, but I liked the comment so much that I guess I just looked at it? Haha - weird of me, I know.

I checked the writer for BM, and it's the same writer as Green Rose. I loved that drama. I guess it's not the same writer as TPM then.

Yes, BM is very much like Zorro. I quite liked the story of Zorro, so maybe that's why I'm enjoying BM so much (:
Our anti-hero is definitely so complex. I've never seen a hero who beats up his own woman! Heck, he's so violent :O. I agree that he's all about survival which is the most humane instinct. I mean, what are the chances that people would fight for freedom when it can't even win them food on the table? BM is actually a very logical and realistic drama despite it being fictional.

Kang To is not ready to take up the Gaksital role that his Hyung left behind yet. He's too hot-headed and lost atm. Oh yes, I'm dying to see his transformation. In fact, I quite like the slow build up. There's more tension and room for character development.

Yes, I watch Big, but Bridal Mask is my ultimate obsession atm. Quite funny because I was most excited for Big and least excited for Bridal Mask out of the batch. However, it seems like I'm taking the opposite route ;). I still love Big very much... it balances out all the dramas in Bridal Mask - haha.

Btw, there's A Gentleman's Dignity written by the same writer from Secret Garden. There are some elements that are similar and you can tell it's written from the same writer. So if you're up for it, go check it out! It's a very well-organized rom-com. I don't know if it's your type b/c the main characters are 40-year-old.

Tell me what you think about The Princess's Man when you watch it - hehe.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of The Princess's Man (:

This is the drama of 2012. I can already tell with only 6 episodes out. In fact, the 6 episodes are actually better than many standalone/finished dramas. Everyone should give this series a chance. I can't recommend it enough. I wish more people knew about Gaksital. Spread the words!

Oh boy, my dear Joo Won, how I love your face contortions. It is a true piece of artwork. I would clearly choose you over any other boy who cries "pretty". This guy acts so well! He immerses himself into the role completely. He makes me forget that he's actually an actor. Phewww... talk about emotionally drained. I keep coming back to this page - haha.

However, even if the drama has a good storyline and good characters, if the actors can't pull it off then that's a huge no-no. No matter how great the characters or storyline is, the main heart of the drama is whether the actors are able to present what is required through the screen.

Overall, I guess... actors>characters>storyline.
Though, if the story is too dull... then that's a different story too - haha.

Then OST is another huge bonus.

What about you?

Oh yes, I'm a huge fan of Korean OSTs. If the OST is good and goes with the feel for a specific scene, then it definitely enhances the drama experience for me.

Superb dramas should come in full-packaged. The main three things I look at when judging whether it's a well-organized drama are, good storyline, good characters, and good actors. Those are the main things I look for. Then again, I would also have to be interested in the drama to start off with. Some dramas consist of these three elements, yet they are not to my taste.

A drama that is memorable and addicting should have a complex storyline. If it's not complex, then it has to have some sort of uniqueness or other qualities to it.

Good characters are essentially important. Sometimes the storyline might not be interesting, but good characters compensate for it.

By the way, I find there are many elements from The Princess's Man that are alike in Bridal Mask and vice versa. What about you? Perhaps, the story is not so much like City Hunter vs Bridal Mask or Iljimae vs Bridal Mask, but the set-up and organization feels very much alike. The story arc and characters are also similar to some sense. Seung Yoo vs Kang To in avenging their loved ones. Se Ryung vs Mok Dan in being strong. Kyung Hee vs Rie are both strong-headed and have power.

Haha - I didn't like the actor that played Oska previously, but after viewing SG, I changed my mind. He was hilarious! In fact, the writer for SG can make me like actors whom I didn't really care for previously. She must have amazing talents then - haha.

Ohhh, I didn't know it was the same writer for Smile, You and Can You Hear My Heart.

I'm also majorly relying on viki because they sub super fast! I don't know what I'd do without them. THANK YOUUU! Gaksital is too amazing. Even though only 6 episodes have aired, I put it on my top 5 list on profile so more people can tune it. It deserves more attention! By the way, I find the top 5 list too small because I have a lot of favorites - haha.

I'm also really into Big, but Bridal Mask is my ultimate obsession atm. I was most excited for Big, but BM blew me out of the water!

I can't choose whether I love Secret Garden or The Princess's Man more - haha. Besides, 5 favorite dramas isn't enough. I have a lot of favorite dramas!

Bridal Mask is too awesome. I have a feeling I will add it to my 5 favorite dramas if it keeps going at the pace it's going. This drama seems very organized, so I have hope that it's not gonna drag nor become a train wreck.

You can watch Big after you finish Smile, You (:
Lee Min Jung is in it as well. Gong Yoo is also pretty amazing.

Oh, thanks a lot for the friend request! We can discuss our drama preferences here (:

I don't have a twitter account, sorry.

Awww ... I'm stressed out too. We'll comfort each other ;).

Are Joramas, Japanese dramas :$? Well, I don't highly recommend Dr.Jin yet, but I'm saying that it's a lot better than some other Korean dramas. It's just too bad that there are so many good Korean dramas airing at the moment. If I have to rank my highest addictions atm... I'd say 1)Bridal Mask, 2)Big, 3)A Gentleman's Dignity, 4)Dr.Jin, >>>>>> 5)I do, I do.

Yes, Bridal Mask is a MUST. If you can only watch one of the dramas out of the lot, you MUST check out Bridal Mask for SURE - haha. I'm not gonna say I'm sorry for pressuring you ;). It's similar to City Hunter in some ways, but BM is out of CH's league.
