From a semi-ace perspective, sex scenes for me are mostly about whether or not they feel right in context, either in plot progression or the characters' actual emotional state. YinWar aren't usually super explicit with their NC scenes but it always feels earned and/or pivotal. This one just felt completely random. It might have seemed right on paper but emotionally it felt like it was deliberately dropped in as a fan pleaser. It felt forced, and because YinWar are normally such emotive, subtle actors, it didn't even feel like a YinWar scene to me, let alone something that made sense for the characters at that moment.
I've seen a few others question why it didnt feel right beyond feeling sorry for Mangkorn, and I wonder if that's part of the reason, maybe?

I think that's because in the OG timeline, we see that Ji was a bit of a loner. He didnt socialise with anyone. So now, his parents are so happy to see him with friends and wanting to spend time with them, like going on the school trip. I interpreted Ruth pushing Ji to be on the student council as a way to be closer to him 😂 but maybe Ruth's future perspective might reveal information Ji doesnt know about? 🤔
Hmmm, that was an interesting look from the teacher at the end there? Is the cool teacher going to turn out to be a raging homophobe, or is he going to blame Ji for Ruth relaxing a bit, in a classic "you're ruining his future" kind of way? 🤔
So Ruth clearly liked Ji back in school during the original timeline... I wonder if this is going to turn into one massive domino effect? Was the drunk driver who hit Ji originally going to turn out to be one of his school friends? Or even someone from the current group that Ji wasn't initially friends with, like Tyler or Kong?
Oh please give me The Butterfly Effect narrative. Each small choice creates a completely different future, meaning the original timelines Ji and Ruth came back from don't even exist anymore, creating an entirely new set of challenges for them at school. Because if so, that would be very clever and very cool.

They've both come back to their high school selves, but with completely different motives:
Ji has gone full memento mori. He just wants to enjoy the life he was given this time around. What will be, will be. But Ruth, likely driven by the weight of grieving Ji and never reaching out, is now desperate to fix everything. He woke up with the "save everyone except himself" complex... which is clearly going to become Ji's job to undo.
And then they hit me with all the timey wimey mechanics and I suddenly think... ohhh, please tell me this is going to get so much deeper than it’s letting on? 😍
This show has thoroughly surprised me with how much I’m enjoying it. Please, hit me with deep philosophical wisdom about the winding road of life, is paved everyday choices 💙
