Rewatching brought two epiphanies:

1 - Last week’s burning question, why doesn't Nakan just hypnotize Tong? has been answered by the show it's self. So it’s either the magic of Golden Blood or Tong’s secretly packing some unknown superpower, which would be a pretty cool plot twist. The hunted becoming the hunter LOL
But the romantic in me wants to think it's because Tong now has “Property of Mark” stamped on his sweat glands and now he has a built-in “back off, buddy” alarm for creeps. It's like every liquid molecule in Tong's body is just - Eyes and fangs off my bro, I now belong to Blue Speedo Guy with his chiseled by the gods bone structure and impeccably shaped bulge.

2 - There’s a Blood Rose candle, and all I can think is, what does it smell like? Blood? Roses? Blood-drenched roses? Or, plot twist - it’s secretly Bolognese-scented? 😂
