Woowee this was a stinker! Cheesy dialog, over the top cartoonish acting, and a pro-terrorist plot. The actors must have had sore throats when this movie wrapped from barking out all of their lines. Endless rain of bullets without ever needing to reload. Junior high school students magically knowing how to operate machine guns and hit their targets. And I could go on and on...but I won't lol.
What's with the low rating? This drama deserves 8.5++
For a Jdrama it's rated exceptionally high on this site. There's a definite bias with people on here rating Kdramas that are absolute garbage solid 10s while giving Jdramas low scores. Basically anything that is realistic, scary, or mature which a lot of Japanese dramas/movies are will be rated unfairly low.
It looks like Sabu bugged their home/police station when he used the bathroom. Also creepy how he mentioned becoming a member of the village was a step by step process. None of them can be trusted.
The way episode 3 showed Agawa's past and seamlessly connected it to present events was a thing of beauty. Seriously this is the best drama I've seen in a long time. Horror, psychological, thriller, and mystery...this show has it all.
And now I have to wait another week for the next episode.😭
Me too. I really like this FL character, all her wittiness and sassiness and yet when the time is needed, she…
Right, her cuteness comes naturally and doesn't seem forced. Plus, she's smart and funny. A breath of fresh air compared to a lot of other female leads I've seen recently in dramas.
Yagira Yuya never dissapoints. He's such an amazing actor. Omg and the way episode 2 ended! Seriously I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode.
Finally someone mentioned this. I forgot to bring this scene up in my review, but the way I see it is it was glorifying…
Yup, I agree to all of this. And even Arisu seemed to have lost his intellectual abilities to problem solve, which was his greatest strength in first season.

I think it still applies since I was specifically talking about female characters and how they were written this season. They were written weaker and more in need of male help. Heck Hikari alone would have been able to wipe the floor with that king of spades. Remember she had one of the most badass final fight scenes in season 1. Their games weren't shown either, which would have helped to show their strengths.
I also want to add that I really didn't like how the new female character was solely introduced as some sex crazed underaged school girl for male viewers to fetishize. She was also coupled up with someone way too old for her. And Ann was deduced to just hiking in the woods. Usagi was coupled up with Arisu and all her independence and survival techniques was stripped away. I could go on and on.
okay we all know how strong and powerful usagi is. we know she is a badass then how in the world was an already…
Finally someone mentioned this. I forgot to bring this scene up in my review, but the way I see it is it was glorifying assault on women. It also was one of the disturbing male gaze moments sprinkled throughout the series. In the first season the scene with Niragi and Usagi lasted way too long. Also, episode 7 of season 2 all the female characters get beaten to a pulp by one man. Previously, these women showed their skills in fighting and suddenly here they are utterly helpless. Yeah, this show was all kinds of fckd up..funny most on here don't see it.
I agree with everything you said. The ending is also underwhelming for me. I was expecting a bit more. And I find…
Right, I thought the characters being in borderland would somehow connect to their stories in the real world. Like all of them had felt like they didn't belong in the real world or had dealt with loss. It turns out their past stories had nothing to do with why they were in borderland and that seems odd to me since so much screen time was spent on back stories. And yes the plot armor was utterly ridiculous!
There are only 8 episodes not 10. So, this episode that just aired on the 27th was the last one and this drama is finished. It was a really cute show. I liked it a lot.

Zzzz...
