During the first cast livestream, Li Yitong, Liu Yuning, Zhu Xudan, Riley Wang, Wang Youshou and Chang Long all…
I've been told by someone that Zhu Xudan & Riley Wang were dubbed by someone else. Not sure how accurate that info is though.

Gosh I loooove the Waning River Crescent gang so much! The Shangguan He, Duan Shanhu, and Po Yunlong trio is everything!…
Ji Xiang is one of the best characters in this drama and with the least amount of lines to read! Maybe BL coded for him and 18th prince? I like the rivalry between NH's side kick and the Waning River Crescent crew.

I know it's hella random, but when the 2ML wears LSL's mask, his eyes remind me of Gong Jun 😅
I have an even more whackier one. I keep seeing a male version of Ai Mi. It's the eyes I think. They could be brother & sister!

How come Nang Heng's uncle not making your number one ? CGH is written as a victim just like the ML? Both defined…
I agree with your points and share exactly the same on their response to adversity. This is why although both are victims in some way, but CGH will be second ML and NH is ML material, due to their different reactions to their situations.

I only responded because to my mind at the moment anyway, Uncle Gao is the one pulling all the strings and causing all the issues we have seen so far. What remains to be seen is whether the emperor has anything to do with the storyline, or is he also a pawn in uncle Gao's plans.

Yiting is becoming more and more likable.... She's so upfront about everything... The way she called out CGH for…
I think the scriptwriter is having the last laugh. Not more than 5 episodes ago, I saw endless posts here lambasting this character, calling her all sorts of names. Now, she's the smart one and I even saw someone write ML should have been with her yesterday. I think plenty of time for the regular everyday FL to turn into the smartest partner for the ML? OK, maybe not...that would be too cliched.

At this point, I’m starting to believe Chu Gui Hong is the emperor, because the way he walks around with zero…
How come Nang Heng's uncle not making your number one ? CGH is written as a victim just like the ML? Both defined by their past generation's antics and have been used as a pawn.

NH blindly went along with his uncle's antics and he even tried to turn a blind eye on his past corruption. CGH's idealism and righteousness has been utilised by NH's uncle. All the recent mental break downs have been due to years of manipulation of information from NH's uncle. Am I watching something different?

The amount of times I feel like smacking some sense into CGH is insane. How can someone trust a run away soldier…
I don' t agree. We don't know how close he was with the men out there. You have been given the all seeing eye by the director. I have seen women defend their husbands over paedophile cases because they know him. There's a lot of people like that than you think.

And although many people are annoyed by CGH, I personally am even pleased with this development. And after episode…
Yes, his character is layered... first time seeing him and I'm very impressed of his portrayal. I don't know why, but he just reminds me of Zhang Zhe Han. His eyes, his mannerism.

ML should have choose Second FL (Song Yi Ting), she is more mature than the FL, LoL 😆😆😆
One thing this drama has shown is judging and behaving like ML's mother (choosing who is best for him) will never get you anywhere. ML has shown so far it's love and he cannot help himself. No matter how nice and fawning over him, you don't get your man, he's not interested in anyone but the FL, period. Realistic and more closer to reality. I like how this is making it uncomfortable viewing for some. Also, FL is not even cruel, just a regular jobbing actress ML put his ambitions first and cannot break free from his family loyalty for much of his life. Has he harmed people unintentionally?

I have never once felt this bad for a ML! EVER! I cannot see him being treated so harshly.... I mean, not a single…
Your last sentence made me laugh. So sincere. So dated. Meanwhile in the real world, I doubt that. Actors go from one set to the next, reading scripts like zombies. Sometimes it shows. Didn't FL fall asleep almost just listening to ML's agent droning away?

Many are now coming in from music industries, scouted from reality circuits, some come from some dance academy (a short cut into acting)... What development. She's just another struggling regular actress, and there are thousands out there.

Boy crazy alert 🚨 🔔 ‼️ He literally tried to kill her so many times! You want her to reason with him?!…
I'm not here to support her character but to say she's doesn't need growth. Nothing in drama rule book saying FL must be smart or understands everyone.

ML loves her whatever she does, and that is love. I think some viewers cannot deal with that part and instead turn their attention to FL.'s flaws. I am not seeing enough of why is the ML still loving her.

Penny will drop for FL, and it's already happening. She's withholding info knowing it's wrong for herself but she's doing it anyway. It's called tough love. East Asians from previous generations tend to adopt this. Drama watchers should be more open minded when watching these types of dramas.

Not that I hate her..just that I don’t care for her. I’ve read the directors comments, all the comments supporting…
You don't have to be sympathetic to her. Just watch the ML do that. It shows, love is not measured on smartness. No logic.. He simply loves her for being her. Be it, ditzy, crazy, simple....

She's just a regular girl, nothing special. FLs don't need to be smart or have character growth. She doesn't have plot armour. No doubt, if she did, you'd be moaning about that too. Something you ought to address yourself, rather than project your unhealthy double standards.

ML has not exactly been honest to her and put his personal ambitions first. He displayed 2 faces and that is a form of deception. You seem to excuse someone not letting go of your wrist as passion. Stabbing him back is small fry compared with his earlier antics. I fear watching too many c-dramas have shifted you into thinking this is acceptable behaviour.

Finally, someone kept saying she's swearing at ML. Cursing his action/behaviour, bad mouthing is not the same as swearing.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
I agree but in this two episodes she were really ridiculous. She blames him for lying on her. Could he be able…
Stupid? She's not smart but not stupid. I find it ironic that those that regularly shrow words like stupid about cannot work out they are watching with the all seeing eye failing to admit FL doesn't have that privilege.

ML is two faced. He has two personas. He lied to her and when given the chance to speak he doesn't. How can she believe he loves her when he is very likely to use her for his personal ambition. She stabs him because he failed to release his grip on her arm. Modern day term, that is force and violent.

Famous leads 🤔 , why does it have so little watchers in comparison to other airing dramas ?
MDL does not represent all international viewing figures. MDL tends to have fans of younger newer actors rather than established actors.

For a long time, I was annoyed with Song Yimeng's character. I mean she is from the modern world and has read…
It's a comedy. A parody. One of the biggest tropes in drama land is misunderstanding. They will milk that to the max. If you don't like this sort of comedy, it will be very hard for you. FL also doesn't need character growth either. ML has not been honest to her and put his personal ambitions first.

Yes. Tbh at this point all this FL bashing here become kinda exhausting and toxic.
Not exhausting for them I'm afraid. They have grown accustomed to believing in the perfect FL. Includes, lots of plot armour re-labelled as super-smart understanding at all times, makes next to no mistake and most of all, must support at all cost the ML type character. I don't think they will get much of a drama by then ...

The drama is a parody and one of the biggest tropes is the "misunderstanding". It's lost on them when they are more pre-occupied by "annoying" FL character that bothers them they ought to analysis themselves more rather than project their high performative morals onto others.

Paper people? Are you saying she also knows she's inside a script?

it's totally not unreasonable, but the way her words are when talking about NH is just keyboard warrior level…
She is biased because of the script she saw & then witnessed through her own eyes the ML trying to kill her. Then end up sleeping with her sister. I can list the many times he tried to harm her but you fail to admit you are watching as an audience with the all seeing eye perspective and not watching the drama through her lens.

It is fine you want her to be something else, but her words towards him are maybe tiring for ones that can see and know what’s happening on the other side, but she doesn’t. And she’s not smart enough at times to work things out. I think the drama is well executed in that regards. Remember it’s a parody & not meant to show realism, but poke fun of storylines like this. One of the biggest tropes in drama land is misunderstanding. They will milk that to the max.

I think you might be watching too many dramas & starting to buy into this plot armoured perfect female lead. Average people do behave like that . They are not the all seeing sort. Many are not super smart either.

Putting high almost fake performative morals seems to be even more grating in dramaland. Are you giving ML's behaviour a pass? Get the calculator out and you'll see the ML needs less defending over her words. Also your judgment is coming from a different view from FL's.
