There has been such a lack of good Rom-Com or even just Romance K-Dramas recently. I've had to turn to C-Dramas to alleviate my romance craving. I hope they can make more shows like this in the future instead of friendship or just career-based dramas. Romance is the best genre and K-Dramas are the best at romance, in my opinion.
I don't care if people think it's cliche, that is exactly what we are here for! Lol, a gorgeous couple finding their One with each other, regardless of the underlying plot, is a formula that is tried and true. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
Cause you can rate episodes for the entire season even before it airs. Fangirls will just give every ep 10. You…
It's annoying too, you are given the option to say what episode you're on so it makes no sense to lie and say you finished a show that's still airing. I don't usually watch based on reviews (I check comments instead) but I know other people do so it's so misleading to rate a show completely good or bad without actually having watched it in its entirety.
The father realizes his error late when his third son and Empress conspire to steal his throne. ML saves him,…
Thank you! He really has my blood boiling watching how unfair he is and how HFX just lets it slide so I'm happy to hear that he realizes even though a bit late lol
But for drama standarts the drama was really good and only that is important^^
Maybe they never planned for it to go that far into the story and were just trying to use the LA to introduce One Piece to an even wider audience? I don't know but I hope they have better writers for the next seasons. I think it was renewed for 2 more already...
I was watching this a while ago but stopped it at ep 29 because Hei Feng Xi's father is insufferable. I started watching it again from the beginning today but can someone spoil his ending? He's the only character I can't forgive, especially because he had HFX drink that thing that weakened him even though he also took the fountain abode. Does HFX's father have a bad ending? Did HFX ever get his martial arts back?

That’s true, I also thought they should’ve went with a younger cast if they planned on going further. Maybe they will cram more arcs together? Although that would make it harder to tell the story properly…

The biggest flaw to me is the character development or lack of proper character development for the crew. They spent a lot of time on the Garp and Koby storyline that would have been better spent on fleshing out the characters. I wouldn’t complain about changes as long as it kept the essence of One Piece but they really messed up in that regard. Take Luffy for example, I like the actor but how he’s written he’s just not Luffy.
I want the show to be better and to continue but people are over praising it and ignoring the obvious flaws which will not help the writers, producers, directors, etc improve the show in the long run.

I guess, IF you don’t care about the source material. But then again, if it doesn’t matter how well they adapt it then there is no point in making a One Piece live action series to begin with, they could have made anything else. Instead they chose a series with an extremely large international fan base so I think it’s important that it seeks to maintain the essence of the source material rather than changing things just to suit an Americanized audience. As an American OP fan I don’t want that since I know how they have ruined good things in the past.
If you guys (actual fans of OP) do not start reviewing this show honestly- instead of being blinded by the fact that adaptations are usually hot garbage so you are satisfied with anything that is remotely okay- THEY WILL NOT IMPROVE THE SHOW! They will continue making the mistakes they are making and you will just see the quality decline even further. Constructive criticism is highly valuable and needed especially with a live-action adaptation of a show that has had such a large following for over 20 years. People are so defensive when anyone says anything honest about the show, it's like they are being paid. I personally love One Piece and the majority of the characters in it. If you ruin the characters in the live-action it might dissuade others from starting the anime/manga instead of bringing a new audience AND in a worse-case scenario it might ruin the anime/manga for people who like it now. While that may seem far-fetched if you have ever had your enjoyment of something ruined by the fans of that something you may be able to understand how that can happen.
Lastly JUST BECAUSE ODA "OKAYED" SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS AUTOMATICALLY AMAZING. Oda's true medium is manga, that is where he originally portrayed this world and it's characters and that is where his expertise lies. Just because he was able to make an amazing manga and subsequently turn that manga into an amazing anime DOES NOT automatically mean he can make an American TV show just as amazing. Especially with the requirements American media has for movies and TV shows now...
I agree, some things in the show are only going to be understood by people who are already fans of anime/manga which does not make it ideal as the first introduction to One Piece
Does GTY actually have children already? When he spoke to ML brother I though he was just helping a woman but…
I'm on 71 now (I am a major binge-watcher 😭) and while I don't think I can say I like him, he's enjoyable and good for Minglan. I'm biased because I personally wouldn't want a guy with a past like his lol, BUT looking at it from Minglan's perspective I can get past it and enjoy the show since it's pretty good.

I'm on ep 23 now, I am enjoying the show but don't like GTY yet. It's entertaining enough so far that I can ignore my dislike though. I hope he grows on me later.

Yeah, I want to continue and like him but unless ML sleeps with some other guy (not likely considering the time) I don't feel comfortable with him. I like the slice of life aspect and ML so far but I don't know if I can stomach GTY lol.
Also it's weird how he can see that his brother is scheming against him but not that mistress.
