Why was Ryang Eum in that cell??? That is something I would have liked to know .. but yes apart from that, the…
Because he was known to be part of the traitor troop. The King was very clear about rounding up anyone remotely sympathetic to the Crown Prince and Princess.
Unpopular Opinion: I'm obsessed with the Qing Princess character. I don't know, she just makes things so much…
I agree. I liked her totally transparent honesty. We don't get to see that in female characters often. She is one of the few female characters I could personally identify with because she was more pragmatic than off the rails emotional.
you know not everyone on this website is a child, and he is not old nor ancient for them? 😅"have dad issues…
My one and only marriage....which ended 40 years ago....my husband was 25 years older. I was attracted to him because he was talented, mature and funny. Love does not factor in "years" like you are deciding whether mayo or mustard should go on your sandwich 😂. The person who made that comment is incredibly one dimensional......I don't envy her future partners.
We don't know that for certain. The last scene shows him in the past life, retrieving the blue spell book. We know it is after she died because he is injured.
I totaly agree with you. I'm very surprised for all the hate for this drama. Although some plot lines can be a…
I like in CDramas that the FL is usually not a whiny dumbwit. I drop quite a few KDramas be cause the FL is either a bad actress, or a whiny demanding witch who misunderstands everything. 😆
Nam Gil always chooses such thoughtful scripts. I really enjoyed this one. Such a calm, deeply profound encounter I am not soon to forget. The subject matter was handled gently and tenderly….and we see guilt, longing and regret give way to a heart felt acceptance of a previously traumatic situation that had taken such control of his life that he had become a walking dead man. Life goes on. Not all things that are forced to fit into a societal concept of morality…are in fact, moral. He saw that in the end and was able to understand and respect the decision that Mi So had made. He also realized that he should feel no guilt for the way his wife decided to end her life. We often encounter these situations ourselves…and even though in our mind we know that something that happened was not our fault…..our heart and emotions often over rule common sense. This is the wonderful magic that only KDramas seem to be able to produce; seeing situations in a new light…expanding our often limited ideas and concepts of a given subject.
Magnificent. just wonderful. Haven't laughed this much in a long time. Lao Tzu: "Appear weak when you are strong" Surely this script used this as a foundation point. So many great cameo appearances too. How refreshing to see a KDrama minus all the way overdone trope plots. Bromance was really strong. Everyone did such a splendid job. I can see myself watching this multiple times. Too bad it wasn't a series. Thank you Asian Crush for putting this older movie on your venue...much appreciated.
Hearing you say that you and others say that you weren't confused is what keeps me coming back to this (on ep…
Everything becomes clear as the episodes progress. Just enjoy and go with the flow. Not being able to figure everything out from the get go, makes it more satisfying as it unravels. There are even plot subjects you don't figure out until the last few episodes. This is one of my favorites now, up there with Goblin.
drama looks promising but while watching it i realized that every kdrama nowdays have some connetions with religion…
Unfortunately SK seems to be losing its wonderful heritage of Confucianism and it’s leaking thru into its entertainment industry which I find very disheartening. But yes, you are right. I steer clear of the heavy Christian themed KDramas. Thankfully CDramas are still culturally correct.
Checked the stats page of this drama, and even stats show, OLDER VIEWERS gave HIGHER RATING to this drama.A drama…
I am 80. Korean/Chinese. My humble opinion is that the low ratings among the young watchers points, to me, that they have completely forgotten how many in the history of the U.S. then Japanese occupation, how many died fighting to get rid of the imperialist occupiers . Died in gruesome ways. Every freedom to be Korean, including forbidding the use of Hangul, was taken away from them….many were made to change their names to Japanese names. Many young children and women were made to serve as prostitues. Honestly, this convenient memory wiping by the young ones explains why they are following like sheep, to embrace being a U.S. vassal. It’s concerning. So again, in my humble opinion, most have missed the main focus of this series……seen only as a shallow entertainment value to so many watching. History continually repeats itself…..the small freedom left to those in South Korea…well, there will come a time when SK will repeat history and throw out the Imperialism of the West. When it happens, and those in their family, friends, compatriots start to die fighting for freedom, May they remember how they glossed over the theme in this series…
What about Du Ri An cheating on her husband and Dan Chin Gam having sex with a married woman? Where are their…
If you remember, the mother-in-law arranged the tryst with Ri An and Dol Se because she knew her son was infertile. Back then, a wife was often severely punished or killed if she disobeyed a mother-in-law. We see the MIL walking past Ri An's room telling them it's morning and Dol Se must leave ("the cock has crowed"). The MIL even sent Ri An's husband on a trip so he wouldn't interfere. I don't think we can realistically cause this a situation that would incur bad karma. Joseon culture was a hot bed for surrogate relationships......most wealthy men had concubines and bore children from them.
Literally traumatised me. The drama was awesome. All the characters suits well but the ending is confusing will…
In case you didn’t know, Wookie underwent fairly lengthy psychiatric counseling after the filming. Which, in more ways than one, shows you that environment alone can f#$k you up….and also adds to my concerns about creating these kinds of films and the long term damage it can cause over time. Gerard DePardeiu is a perfect example.

This reminds me of the off the wall chemistry between the leads in Vincenzo. Definitely interest there, and here, but everyone mature enough to not fall for the fantasy.
Seriously! I was excited to come here and share how episode 10 moved me and was so put off by the comments.
I have found, thru out my long life, that the worst haters/judgemental toward women are often other women. They have the capacity to cut to the bone, that men don’t usually have.
