Yes. It was also on Asian Crush back in Oct. I finally ended up so disgusted with my paid accounts like Disney and Viki for not posting new episodes in a timely manner (Viki) , or engaging in this ridiculous regional restriction nonsense that I changed my mind about so called illegal websites. HiTv costs me $12.99. Itās a seasons pass but they donāt tell you how long that is. So far itās been six months. Plus, like with My Dearest, new episodes were up the same day they premiered in SK.

I used to think that wayā¦untilā¦.increasingly, the paid websites are doing their āregional restrictionsā nonsense until it has increased from the sublime to ridiculous. There are dramas that have not gotten to us for years. This is nothing more than corporation greed at work. Now the paid sites have incorporated VPN blocking and I can no longer access South Korean media sites. I canāt watch Viki in South Korea but I can here in the U.S. We should not continue to be led by the nose for nothing more than shareholder profits at work. If I pay for Viki here in the U.S., I should be able to watch it anywhere in the world. Why are we continuing to tolerate this? As Disney is finding out, money talks. I see this as akin to the same over-reaching control the U.S. is trying to engage in regarding TikTok. So I have decided to fight back in the only way I canā¦.I pay HiTv and I watch what I am entitled to watch. I have found the HiTv subs, 95% of the time, are as good as Viki. And we actually get the released episodes almost as quickly as they are originally released in SKā¦..UNLIKE Viki, which always lags way behind. I expect to get what I pay for and I am increasingly becoming extremely delusioned with Netflix and Viki. IQIYI still gets the most stars for the content I pay for each month. You do youā¦.but I have had enough. š
I pay absolutely zip attention to ratings. I have a three episode system. No matter what, I watch three episodes, then decide. I find usually the most profound dramas have the lowest ratings. The most inane dramas have the highest ratingsā¦when dramas like The Long River are totally ignored. Itās a reflection of the timesā¦..shallow minds and hearts, lack of critical thinking, an irreverence for historyā¦the list is long. Si Wan never portrays a shallow character, so I always know his dramas are going to be rewardingā¦..just like NamKoong Min. š„°
9.5.. 0.5 because of visual of drama lilbit dark.. My eyes can't accept it. š .. Huhu
I discovered something interesting. I had Apple products and half the time I couldn't see a dern thing in scenes at night or in low lit buildings. I bought a Chinese One Plus tablet and it made a 100% difference.
It's very difficult to find a drama that mixes fantasy, adventure and romance well, all with two mature actors…
Gosh, it was so utterly refreshing not to get a whiny FL who is always pouty, suspicious and weak, talking in baby talk, while misunderstanding everything the ML does. I could rewatch this just for that......I almost didn't watch it because of NiNi's character in Rise of Phoenixes was exactly all the above.....plus she was a coward and offed herself leaving the ML all alone. Her characterization in Parallel sets a new standard for FL's in CDramas. I was actually amazed that after the war, she stayed in Blackstone for nine months before looking for him. This is how women SHOULD be portrayed in dramas. Strong, dedicated to their own Path...and the man is an addition not the main focus in life for a woman.
He hung her mother...... that's a tough obstacle to get over. I'm still not sold on his character yet, but enjoying…
I get that however.....during those times, military commanders did as they were told or they died from an "accident". She clearly saw how he was abused at home and it wouldn't be a stretch to think his sadistic father would kill him for disobeying. He took care of terrible situations happening to her, over and over again, putting his own life in danger. To then kill him for revenge to me, is unspeakable, makes her no different than what he had to do to her family...no...worse, because no one was making her kill him. BUT......I suspect that she did not kill him for revenge....so we will see.
