Maybe it's a stylistic preference, but I find the wider shots allow for a more grounded/natural performance and viewing experience. Instead of relying on close ups to affect a certain emotion on the audience, one can see the scene unfold as if watching a live play. But again, I see your point too and wouldn't mind some close ups of Deng Wei LOL.

Like many, I'm deep into my 2nd watch. Appreciating eps 11-20 more - things slow down but we get into the various characters more (MRW, Wei Jiu, etc) - makes the pay off later worth it in my opinion.

Looks like DW's fan club just announced that DW's team is indeed in talks for this project (still no official announcement yet, but looks promising). No official word yet on who is female lead, or even if there is one selected. Hoping for some good news soon!
