He has one unaired drama (Take Me Where the Clouds Rise), but due to some copyright issues, no one knows when or if that one will or can air. Seems like he is in talks to start filming a new drama soon.

Looks like DW's fan club just announced that DW's team is indeed in talks for this project (still no official announcement yet, but looks promising). No official word yet on who is female lead, or even if there is one selected. Hoping for some good news soon!

Bratty princess Cui Mingyue was also Ning Yi's annoying (also bratty princess) sister in The Rise of Phoenixes lol.

This drama is even better on second watch - and I typically never rewatch dramas.

I'm not familiar with the original novel, but I first saw Li Qin in The Song of Glory, in which she places a pretty badass assassin, so my impression of her was her ability to plan stronger female roles. She's definitely been able to do other types of roles since, so I think she could pull off most anything. As far as other actresses for FL, I think anyone either similar age to DW (assuming he takes the ML role) or a bit older would be more fitting for this type of FL role.

Yeah, no confirmation yet. And I agree, would love to see him do a historical drama (he's done plenty of xianxia/fantasy ones) or wuxia.

I see. Never read the novel, just judging the drama as I see it. I guess it’s one of the things about rebirth dramas that require some suspension of disbelief.

Yeah, I don't feel the chemistry so far. She's very grounded and mature (well, having lived another life already lol), but unfortunately for me so far Yu Qi acts much younger and inexperienced. Which is a shame because I know Zhang Wan Yi is capable of a much darker/dangerous performance.

Keep watching, there's more. But yes, still terrible.
