Not so liked part - Improvement needed in camera work - The pace should be much balanced. For me some comedic sequences felt forced and not organic. It's like following the pattern ( serious - comedy - serious). I wanted sequences much like the operation one where the comedy was so natural and also interesting. We can very well edit 5-10 mins of every ep, still it wouldn't have impacted drama much - FX's identity revelation and Emperor's secret revelation too, felt meh to me. I wanted much more drama to that as it's the very core part of the drama
What I loved - Oh man ZRY I fell for him even harder, and all the other actors were also sooo good as expected of them - The temple sequence was sooo interesting, made me feel goosebumps. The plot surrounding Prime minister Lin was well made. And the scene between FX and Deng Zi Yue was just pure cinema - Loved First prince and Beiqi empress, wanted more of them. Haitang Duo Duo is much more gorgeous and powerful as ever
As someone who never rewatches drama, I rewatched the entire S1 of JoL and I fell in love as if I was watching it for the first time. I don't think I can rewatch this season, maybe some sequences ( the operation, the scene at Waner house, temple sequence) but not fully. This acted as a bridge and set the stage up for S3. I hope that S3 could be much more interesting . Can't wait to see more ruthless version of FX in S3. I really want to see Ku He and Si Gu Jian that guy gonna give nice beating to FX 😂😂 ~~ 9/10
Why wasn't NN stationed somewhere where she can keep an eye on the factory. Both XN and NN knew WZQ was prepared…
I had the same doubt, first of all what made WZQ think he has to die for her to live? If they just stationed extra men outside the factory, then they would have captured the Xin guy, he was the problem and it got solved. I think Xing and NN didn't know WZQ planned to die, they just thought it might be for worst case. As soon as Xing got the call, ig he realized that Yuan is alive and WZQ might die, and then gets the next call from present Yuan who guessed the same thing - that's why they rushed
As I finished ep 32, I actually feel bad for FX. His half life was manipulated by emperor and CPP, the next quarter - everyone wants to kill him, he's called an error. He has to survive multiple ploys against him. And how he is on a whole next journey. All i want is peace for that man The emperor should become ambassador of Love yourself campaign 😂. It was S2 that i understood the emperor, he doesn't want anyone to overpower him. As long as you play dumb, you can survive. The moment when he treated FX, i got literal goosebumps, the biggest revelation.
Now as for the drama being boring and all, yes I agree at least 5-7 mins in each episode could be trimmed still it would not make a difference. But calling everything filler doesn't make sense, every incident was connected. If you just watch 3 eps of one incident you won't understand, because after 3 eps why everything happened and what was the plan would be explained. And for the female the drama is male centric and who said the fl characters aren't great. Princess Lin Rui fooled FX about her collaboration in S1, Ruo Ruo playing such a key role. It's not let's say as layered as dramas like Story of Minglan, but it's better than 100 other dramas out there . Still 4 more to go for good subs.
I have a doubt, some people mentioned it is Beiqi who will spread news about FX's real truth in novel? so how come in drama it was not them? That means the writer changed the plot?
To novel readers, would we ever get to see story of Ye Qingmei and her dynamics with everyone?
Yes, I too agree. But I feel it's politics between FX and princes, so ig women do have little role here. And they adapted the novel, if they have to stay true - then they have stick to the story.
Got caught with work and I am resuming with ep 16, and recently I watched AvenueX review on JoL, I can understand the point about costumes and so many abrupt camera angles, but she telling women characters are not strongly emphasized doesn't make sense 🤷♀️. I mean they show RuoRuo as quite clever, and she made a point of how Lin Waner doesn't care about her family, I was like wtf, except her 2nd brother no one cares about her in her family. There was a whole ep her explaining why she likes FX. And she's sick, what can she do , and she's never shown as dumb 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. and also FX was the one who made her better .. so if I was her I would support him, FX went to beiqi for her if that's not love idk what is And when DuoDuo fought with 2nd prince's bodyguard, he was so proud that he fought against her, how's that putting down fl. Yes this season is on a slower pace, but doesn't mean it's bad. And her point about FX being a nepo baby is the highlight. What makes him different is even being someone with power, he can choose a much comfortable life, but he still wants to change the world - that makes him much impressive. Ik its individual opinion, but I rather felt didn't make sense 🤷♀️🤷♀️. Anyways I'll keep watching before I make my verdict
