For people waiting for this drama to air I can recommend 2 historical kdramas

Empress ki, it has 51 episodes but this drama is never slow or boring. If you like strong badass FLs who knows how to fight ( just like Pyeonggang ) then watch this!!

The Princess' man, its much shorter (24 episodes) if you want a great love story which is the main genre then watch this!!

Anyways , do you think they will follow the folktale or the novel? I hope the latter... but even if they follow the folktale I 'm sure I will still love this drama:) I believe I will fall in love witg Pyeonggang/Ondal love story <3

I don't like this drama. The romance is very cute tho (one of the cutest romance in dramaland), but Bong Soon and Min Hyuk are still not one of my favorite couples because it felt a bit one sided tbh, Min Hyuk seemed a lot more in love with her than she was with him. But neverthless I'm glad she ended up with him, I don't get why some wanted her to be with Gook Doo instead, when he was such an ass to her... but i wish she had showed more affection to Min Hyuk ... don't get me wrong, I do believe she loved him but lets be real, they didn't love each other about equally as much, Min Hyuk's love was always stronger

ooh the screenwriter is a man and the director is a woman! that's interesting because its so uncommon when it comes to kdramas. I'm looking forward to this drama!! Meanwhile I'm waiting for this to air I will watch Fiery Priest :)

the second ML might at first be in love with the FL, but later on he gets together with the second female lead... I think?

I really want to watch a cdrama with a epic love story where the OTP is destinied for each other , ofc must have great chemistry, one that makes you feel / believe in their love for each other. Is this drama like that??

I hope this drama will be a success in Korea with high ratings/viewership. It’s ok if it won’t become as popular as lets say ”Mr. Queen”, but I hope people won’t be sleeping on this one

If I'm not mistaken (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) the Folktale is a tragic one where On Dal dies, but in the novel he doesn't so he and Pyeonggang are together in the end.

for sure mine too, this is not a historical lighthearted romcom... we will be heartbroken for sure, we need to be emotionally prepared for that.

What I love about this is that it’s set during Goguryeo era (since most historical k-dramas are set during joseon era) the FL is a badass warrior ..not one of those FLs that are described as ”strong” but in reality is weak and a push over... but here she is really strong for real!! Also the romance *swoon* after watching the last teaser I had butterflies in stomach, this love story will be SO epic!! While becoming Empress / the country is Pyenggang’s first priority she still comes to love On Dal a lot (I believe) , and he becomes her second priority. I’m sure I will love their love story so much !!

I came across people saying the editing of this drama looks kinda bad. Is its only me who thinks the editing is great ??

Ooh really xD he’s still far from ugly tho, i guess the facial hair is to make him look less ”attractive” :P but kinda makes sense he is stupid since he is described as a ”fool” in love. Well This drama will probably show that looks doesn’t matter since despite his ”ugliness” the FL eventuelly still falls in love with him :) Refreshing that for once the ML is not seen as a hottie and is dumb (which is very uncommon!)

Yeah I don't like it either xD I guess they wanted him to have a bit of rough/shabby looks. Who knows, maybe we get used to it and even come to think its part of his charm... hopefully :)

Good first ep, Won Jin Ah is so pretty here.
I read somewhere (a comment, someone who probably read the webtoon) that the cheating dude has a reason for two timing and he is not as terrible as he seems . My guess is that he really does like Song Ah but he is forced/ pressured by his family to marry that other woman. Just a wild guess, I could be totally wrong! Whatever the reason is, its still a act that can’t not be forgiven...
