Great points. I guess the Non story was purposely left open ended... Kao's mom pretty much read Non's dad the riot act... the look on his face was telling. I'm assuming the dad took it to heart and would try to be a better father, but who knows...
I don't count Kiss the Series as part of DBK or KMA to be honest. There is no continuation or connection to it.…
Haha! Maybe the director saw baggy pants and man purse as being more "professional" than t-shirts and jeans, now that Kao is a teacher. I really have no idea, lol.
Hello I watched this entire show and LOVED it. The problem is, I never watch the prequels. I really wanna watch…
I loved it, too. As for the prequels, they have storylines that don't really pertain to DBK. You can watch them, but they don't feed into what's going on in DBK.
For anyone who has read the novel: I realize that Pharm/Dean are In/Korn reincarnated, but are they supposed to have the same basic personalities? Dean and Korn seem to be pretty much the same, but Pharm is super shy, while In is like an annoying mosquito that needs to be swatted.
Since we're all waiting for another week... I am in Bangkok! Got here last Friday morning, adjusted to time change with no problem. It is a GORGEOUS city, sensational food, people are sooooo friendly. I'm doing all the touristy things, but here's what really matters...
No, I haven't seen any BL actors, but I went to the Siam Paragon shopping mall, where lots of scenes from our favorite BLs take place. Just walking through, I felt like I knew my way around. I ate lunch at a Korean restaurant at the foodcourt there called "Happy Together," which I recognized from one of the BLs (can't remember which one). It was great.
Walked past the "famous" shops we see: Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Bulgari, etc. And... the Sea World aquarium (from Pharm/Dean scene in UWMA) is on the bottom floor. I wanted to go, but after waiting in line for 30 minutes, I could see it would take another hour just to get in, so I gave up.
Saw JJ (Tangmo from Great Men Academy) in some random commercial while watching TV in my room. Went to the popular gay bar district on Saturday night... it was fun, but so packed with people you could hardly move. After that, I ended up getting a ride back to my hotel from a cute Thai guy on a moped. I felt like Pete (LBC) sitting on the back of Ae's moped, with my arms around this guy's stomach, haha. (Or Beam/Forth from 2 Moons 2.) Except that I'm older than those guys, lol. The ride was about 10 minutes, as we went through Bangkok neighborhoods with gorgeous homes... I recognized some of them from BLs, definitely.
Thanks to watching Thai BLs, I know how to wai people and say "Sawadhee Krab," and I even surprised myself, that I can also say "kor toad" (I'm sorry), "chai" (yes), "chai mai" (no), "kob khun krab" (thank you), and a a couple more phrases. Tomorrow I'm going to Lumpini Park, where lots and lots of BL scenes have been filmed. So I'm definitely living the "Bangkok experience." New Year's Eve party tomorrow night, then back to the states on January 2.
I liked DBK a lot, for me it was a pretty realistic depiction of the trials and tribulations of a young gay relationship. Happy that the writers/producers made the parents and friends so supportive.
In the final episode, I loved the part when we discover that, when Pete broadcasted Non's wrongdoing, the bear kept going with all the lovey-dovey conversation between Pete and Kao. The "oh shit" look on Pete's face was hilarious! My only complaint with the ending is that I would have liked to know what became of Non after his father found out the truth.
