It's really bothersome that people find intimate partner violence okay. The excuse I keep seeing here and YT is…
I think the only reason -- really -- that people "love" this series so much is because of the hot and sexy scenes. I like the Mew/Gulf chemistry, too!
But take those scenes away and what are you left with? A psychologically disturbed character as a lead (Tharn isn't that stable, either), a far-fetched plot and jealousy storylines that have become beyond tiresome. At this point I'm pretty much only watching for Techno's humor... love him!
he have big eyes..i'm not sure it's ha was "under the knife ", but they are big compare to 90% of asian population…
That's what I thought, too... so that's why I was surprised by the "American mixed" thing. It seems that, since Mew is the actor for the part, they could have left that detail out of the story. (I love Mew, by the way!)
Okay, I have a question for anyone that might know. I've read that Tharn is supposed to be of mixed race, part American (I'm assuming that means Caucasian, although there are of course Asian Americans). To me, Tharn (Mew) doesn't look Caucasian at all, strictly Asian... and the actors playing his parents seems strictly Asian as well. So...
I've never posted a review until I've seen a series all the way through but, since it looks like the final episode will not be subbed (grrrrr!), I went ahead and posted in the reviews section.
Fyi--this is my personal opinion. If you take offense I can't help you with that. I have avoided watching the…
Agreed 100%! I'm still watching this series because, regardless of the ridiculousness of the story, I do think it's well produced and I really like the actors. But I've had to ignore the flaws in order to enjoy it. My biggest issue is with the author/writers.
If Type were simply a homophobic bigot, with no prior childhood assault, I would find the story believable and it still would have been sufficiently dramatic.
Or... let's keep Type's childhood rape story, but then treat it a bit more realistically... there is NO WAY that emotionally traumatized Type would have allowed Tharn to give him a BJ, and then shortly after ask Tharn to fuck him. Since the author went there, with the rape storyline, then it would have made sense for it to be about slowly bringing Type out of his fear and hatred of gays, with a physical relationship with Tharn happening in Episode 11 or 12 (if at all).
This story is offensive to real victims of childhood rape, and that is my biggest fault with it.
I get it... the sex scenes are hot and viewers get turned on by the skinship, so that seems to make it all okay. But the storyline doesn't support it at all.

Is Mew part American?
