As some others have mentioned, there is something depressing about this. So Fuse and Tee are celebrating their third anniversary, but there doesn't seem to me much "celebrating" going on. I assume they are studying at different universities, yes? So you would think they would be having a wild time here! Even the reunion with Lukmo and the other friend doesn't seem all that much fun.
@hyacinthssoul wondered if Tee might be hiding an illness... and now I'm wondering that, too. Fuse did mention that Tee looks thinner (although he looks perfectly fine to me), and when Fuse asked Tee if they would be together forever, Tee says "I don't know... maybe five to ten years for sure." That's not a particularly encouraging response...
There are plenty of "realistic" dramas out there, but MIR was essentially a lighthearted comedy and It took two full, long seasons for Fuse and Tee to finally make a commitment together. In this case, I really hope this isn't some kind of sad ending... what would be the point?
That`s one of the issues I have with this series, they leave so many thinks out so that you can hardly understand…
Well, that's disturbing.
What is it with these Thai writers having to insert rape into practically every storyline? I'm not against drama, but are we really supposed to believe that Park went to Wayo's room, drugged and then raped him? How exactly did he do that... did he force Yo's mouth open and shove pills down his throat?
Plus, Pha went back to the room that night, right? He saw the hickey. Then, we suddenly see a scene the next morning with everyone looking at the picture. Wouldn't Pha have known that Yo had been drugged, or wouldn't he at least have questioned Yo about it before he left the room?
I liked this series, but this is kind of a major disappointment for me.
So what happened at the end? I mean... I think I get it. Park was upset that Wayo left him at the theater (can't really blame him... Wayo was the one who invited Park), so Park went into Wayo's room while he was sleeping and put a hickey on his neck, took a picture of it and then made posters of it that he placed all over the university.
I guess my question is... what's the big scandal? Sure, it was a sh!tty thing to do, but it's not like the school doesn't now know that Wayo and Pha are together. A hickey isn't cause for scandal, is it?
It might be different if Park put himself in the picture with Wayo, but he didn't. And this cliffhanger with Wayo's father having seen the picture so now he's coming to the university... honestly, when I was in college, if someone had sent my father a picture of his son (me) with a hickey, my dad would have been like "okay... so?"
Is the drama supposed to be that Park has somehow "outed" Wayo to his father? I still don't see how just sending that picture would prove anything.
Am I the only 1 that looks forward to this show every weekend? Yeah the acting is not on par with the other BL…
I look forward to it, too. It's very light and innocent, as you said. No great acting here, but it's cute.
The only thing I wonder is how are a bunch of kids--with obviously NO musical experience playing instruments--supposed to get to a point in a very short time to where they could win a music competition? Is the talent in Thailand THAT bad?
I will say that when Jump (Petch) played the guitar and sang, the singing was REALLY awful. (But he did say, earlier in the episode, that he had no musical talent and could not sing in tune... he was right, lol!)
Is this season worth watching after season 1? I really liked PhaYo in that but I see a lot of negative comments…
I think it's worth watching and, overall, it's better than Season 1. I like Wayo better in Season 2, definitely. I thought Pha looked more like the character in Season 1, but he went from being "Mr. Perfect" to acting like a lovesick puppy dog. This Pha (in Season 2) looks less "perfect" but is a better actor, I think. More than that, MingKit is way better in Season 2 (IMO) and ForthBeam is a really good couple, too.
I don't disagree with many of your points, however, I think you had too high expectations :) and let me explain…
Thanks for the thoughtful reply!
I enjoyed parts of Theory of Love but, personally, I think the BL audience is ready for gay and bisexual characters, without losing its core audience. Love By Chance introduced Pete as a leading gay character and audiences loved him. Other series have also brought up the struggles that gay people face.
While I know that BL series have a certain percentage of fujoshi fans who fetishize the idea of men sleeping together, it also has a following of young gay men, many of them with very real struggles that shouldn't be trivialized.
I'm not saying that all series have to be angsty (I enjoy light and fluffy, too), but it would be a great step if characters--like Khai--didn't just suddenly "turn gay," with no explanation. The idea of changing ones sexuality practically overnight or, even worse, "I'm only gay for you" is nothing more than fantasy... which is a little odd for Theory of Love, whose biggest fans take pride in it being "dramatic" and "realistic."
I guess I haven't made it a secret that I'm not in love with this series as much as some of you. Here's why (I put this in my complete review):
WHO'S GAY/BI/STRAIGHT? Okay, I guess we can assume that Third and An are gay because, while they don't come out and say so (why not?), they also don't ever discuss women. Bone is straight, I get that. But what about Khai and Two? Are we SERIOUSLY supposed to believe that Khai, who has had sex with more women than anyone can count--and with no mention of ever having slept with a guy, nor ever having a physical attraction to a guy--is suddenly horny for Third, never to sleep with a woman again, as they fall in love forever? Sorry, that never, ever happens! It would have made more sense if Khai was openly bisexual to begin with, but not this way. Same with Two... he spends much of the series crushing on Lynn and salivating over women's "big boobs," and suddenly he's in love, physically, with An?
Come on... making a sudden change in sexual orientation is a HUGE moment in someone's life, and a step not taken lightly. At least give us some explanation of the transformation! All I can say is that this story must have been written by a delusional woman who enjoys nothing more than fetishizing men together.
THIRD: I know we're all supposed to feel sorry for him but, for me, Third was the least likable character. At first, he's in a major depression over his secret love for Khai, but he's hardly blameless. Sure, Khai takes advantage of Third all the time, but consider three things: 1) Khai has no idea Third loves him, 2) Khai's other friends (Bone, Two) would have either said no or not cared that much one way or another and, 3) Third allowed himself to be taken advantage of.
When Third started standing up for himself, he claimed to want to remain friends with Khai but, instead, Third treated Khai with utter contempt and disdain, until the end of the series. Khai may have been an assho!e, but much of it was unintentional and/or out of naivete. Third was an assho!e on purpose.
I'm posting a full review in the "reviews" section. It wasn't my favorite series by a long shot but I still liked it in some respects. Mostly, I felt it would have played out better as a 2-3 hour movie, rather than a 12-part series. (Just my opinion.)
So what is the secret that Third learns? I don't mind spoilers so please can someone spoil this for me? I am one…
At one point (Ep. 6, maybe?), Khai starts flirting with Third. Third is suspicious but starts to believe Khai. Then Third finds out that Khai was just pretending to be into Third, in order to find out if Third is really into him. So that's when Third starts distancing himself from Khai.
i hope we get some sort of extra episode or another season, it feels too short
Funny, I feel the opposite... like this would have been better as a 2 or 3 hour movie. You could skip from Episode 1 all the way to Episode 7 and not have missed a thing.
Despite the dislike for the characters and their stories, no one can't deny that this series has been well acted.…
I so agree with you! This is one of the best acted BLs I've seen in a long time. But I am really disappointed in the storyline itself, for a number of reasons. I'll hold off with stating my opinions until after the last episode airs.
Agreed with all except Bone being a jerk. The way they wrote it, he didn't have a choice. Can you imagine finding…
I've never had the feeling that Bone would have been "fine being the person she cheated with," nor have I felt that Bone was some kind of a playboy. But I can't stand that teacher lol.

But I don't really understand the ending. I've posted a spoiler just below this post... maybe someone can help... thanks!

Question: is there a minimum age for drinking alcohol in Thailand? These teenagers were all getting drunk in a bar and some of them look 14 or 15!

Okay, my rant is over. :)
