Bad Romance's KornKnock storyline was much more satisfactory than TWMTNC, though. As for the food allergy, it…
Thanks for your reply, Paulo Junior. I can understand why you and others might feel that way. For me, Bad Romance--as a series--was just too weird, with the whole crazy Beauty storyline, everyone being held hostage, etc. KornKnock were secondary characters and I just wasn't all that interested. I prefer both TWM and TWMTNC.
I just watched it and, while there were definitely plotholes and some real confusion, I'm going to disagree with a lot of the comments I've read here... I loved it!
Warning: major spoilers ahead!
To try to make sense of the story: Chang Jie, who is gay, enters a new school. You Xie, the coolest guy in the school, is in a heterosexual relationship with Ruona, the coolest girl in the school. Chang Jie has a crush on You Xie.
You Xie seems uninterested in Ruona, and all the attention he gets from fangirls. He himself is secretly gay and has a crush on Chang Jie, which is why he defends him in class, from the bullies, and insists that they drink and dance together at the bar. They get drunk and sleep together... that night seals their love for one another (the sex must have been really good, lol!).
You Xie dumps Ruona, she vows revenge. You Xie declares his love for Chang Jie in front of the entire school. You Xie's aging mom, in poor health, wants nothing more than for You Xie to marry and produce grandchildren for her. So Ruona tells the mom that You Xie broke up with her in favor of a relationship with Chang Jie. You Xie's mother is devastated and has what looks to be a heart attack, ending up in the hospital, in critical condition.
In a dramatic scene (in the pouring rain), Ruona meets with You Xie, who (correctly) accuses her of causing his mother's critical condition, while Ruona tearfully begs You Xie to stay with her. Chang Jie shows up during this confrontation and You Xie reaffirms his love for Chang Jie. At that very moment, a nurse from the hospital approaches You Xie... and the movie ends.
Obviously, this was a cliffhanger for a sequel, Alternative Love 2 which, from what I can tell, was planned but was never produced (or aired).
I loved the chemistry between You Xie and Chang Jie. And I loved to hate Lin Ruona. If the sequel ever appears, I will definitely watch it!
Just stumbled upon this one last night and I am really impressed. So great to know that these are the stories of the actual actors involved (at least some of them).
Just watched it tonight. I loved the first 45 minutes or so but then (in my opinion) the story dragged on and just became unnecessarily depressing. The ending was a little too unbelievable. Still worth the watch, but I won't be re-watching.
For those who think episode 1 featured a rape (saying that because Fuse was drunk, he cannot be held responsible for asking for sex), ask yourself this question:
If, that night, Fuse had gotten into a car (in his drunken state), started driving and hit and killed someone, would Fuse be responsible for killing a human being, or would you say that he's innocent because he can't be held responsible for his actions, since he was drunk?
Can someone pls enlight my dumbass self and explain the last 4 minutes btw the dad's? And why Farm ended up with…
I think the dads thing at the end was supposed to be funny. As for Farm and the doctor... I don't know, I think they're kind of perfect for one another.
I'm rewatching this now and surprised how much more I appreciate it the second time around. I'd forgotten how much more drama there is, compared to the silliness of Season 1. I'm in the minority, but the whole Frame/Book is just kind of weird to me.. I love Yok/Lukmo! And I love Fuse/Tee as well (mostly because of Tee), but the writers really dragged out the Jean/Fuse thing for way too long. (I mean, two entire seasons... really?)
Still, I liked it. Sorry to see that a lot of these actors haven't gone on to other projects. :(
Hey @blacksky1263! Can you believe we've finally made it to the end of this crazy ride? Lol.Just asking... do…
Thanks for the response! I agree that trust is a key issue in any relationship.
To me, after cheating with Pete, Korn appeared mortified and confused with himself. True, Cho advised Korn not to tell Knock, but it seemed clear that Korn was ready to confess (no more than 24 hours after the crime, I believe), but WanWan just happened to beat him to it. Did you see it differently?
did something happen ? I haven't watched this drama yet
Interesting turn of events. Fans were blaming all of the drama on Perth's manager and acting as though Saint's manager was blameless. I guess the story changed somewhere along the way lol.
I know a lot of fans were not happy with TWMTNC, but how many have watched the prequels to this in the following order? Together With Me, Bad Romance, TWM The Next Chapter.
This is supposed to be the chronological order of events. Bad Romance was produced first, so TWM was a prequel. I watched Bad Romance after TWM and thought BR was cringeworthy on just about every level, one of the worst series I've seen. For me, TWMTNC was practically an Oscar award winner compared to that!
