for anyone that has read the novel /listened to the cd, does kiyoi ever apologize to hira ? i was curious
1. In drama, they kinda took out parts about Hiraās speech disorder but in CD, when they got close in high school, Hira told Kiyoi about it and Kiyoi apologized for not knowing about the disorder but Hira was thankful bc Kiyoi was the only guy in class who never used nickname Hii-Kun to make fun of his stutter. 2. When they start living together (didnāt happen in drama bc Koyama interrupted ) Kiyoi starts to think how his behavior since high school was the reason Hira didnāt want to be his bf so his form of apology was changing himself and being nice to Hira which later only showed that his action wasnāt the problem lol Hira just didnāt want to let Kiyoi got close to him more than being King/servant.
They are not even in the realtionship right now they still struggling with their inner problems their realtionship…
By the way I also not yet read novel lol only listened to CDs of Utsukushii kare and Nikurashii Kare (I planned not to but so tempted and ended up listened haha) + talking with novel readers. In conclusion, I only like Kiyoi and their relationship more and more as story continued. This is from someone who also thought this is a typical childish relationship when i read the synopsis.

It would be unrealistic for Hira to suddenly throw away his worshipping obsession that exist his whole teen life just bc his bf told him to so yeah you are right, In Nikurashii Kare, heās still a mix of worship and love which frustrated Kiyoi so much bc he listened to Kiyoiās word even the break up words he just threw away at angry moment. But they both try hard to improve for each other (and remember they are still young adult starting to live together like married couple they have a lot to learn.) They are far from a toxic relationship.

Sorry for butt in but yeah you are right tho idolizing is not romance and thatās literally the plot of this novel and the sequel of it with Kiyoi being frustrated to be worshipped as idol by his own bf ( but it was kinda his fault he encourage it and like it when they were teenager lol) For Hira, he both love Kiyoi as lover and also worship him like a king, bc of his low self esteem, he force himself to choose worship over desire to want more. They slowly fix it together through the book and grow up at some point.
Kiyoi will get more and more popular and earning a lot, by book 2 heās basically Hiraās sugar daddy since…
Kiyoi did mention even before he got in relationship that lot of men tried to hook up with him but he just rejects everyone and waits for Hira. I bet itās getting more when he became popular but funny enough, out of two of them, Kiyoi is the super jealous one, He looks like he wants to scratch the face of any men or women who try to get his man lol
