Just watched ep 1 with eng sub and despite they changed things from the manga, It’s interesting. Obviously this is not BL and it’s more of a crime investigation and the drama was promoted as Buddy drama from the start so I hope BL fans won’t watch this looking for romance (even though the main might end up being romantic together in manga, for now, it’s not).

Lol yeah I was hoping to see the part he had to read BL and watch gay p*rn to learn how to seduce Shiro 😂 but probably drama will still have that seduce part if not at least they still gonna do fake love contract thing.

It definitely won’t make same impact on the story without the touch of romantic feelings between MCs but at the same time it’s ongoing manga and the mangaka might want to keep that romance ending secret for the manga ending in the future and let TV series doing the friendship version lol. Even ep 1 is already differnt from how manga started.

Personally since I had been following drama acc on twitter since last year, I think they will take out the slightly romance element from manga and focus solely on the crime investigation. Why? I think Because director who specialize in investigation crime genre and the drama until now being heavily promoted as “buddy drama” as for manga it’s debatable 😂 some friends and I believe Shiro loves him for awhile as for Ichiro he’s halfway in love but he’s too dense and never have experience before. I have hope that in the end of manga they might be endgame (if they don’t die because that happen a lot in yakuza BL ☠️)

That’s right these characters are always so cute. In Kiyoi’s case, he purposely saved himself for some dumbass who wasn’t even his boyfriend for years 😂 as for Ichiro, he’s more to those dense character who’s super serious with his job and has no time for romance but also have very pure and cute idea of saving himself for future first love lol

It’s possible that he’s Demisexual instead of asexual since he mentioned he wanted to only sleep/have first time with the person he likes. Lol which made Shiro head explode into the word “ pure”

Yeah it was a war zone here when the drama started aired until like Ep 5, I didn’t take part in it but it was that bad 😂 just after that, the fans stay here to talk about source material because there’s a lot to talk beside the short drama so the negative part about the show/characters being “problematic” “homophobic” “toxic” “abusive” just disappeared little by little.

Yeah I know this that’s why I only watch Jdrama when it comes to queer characters lol call me picky but I have no trust in Chinese and Korean drama/movies at all because I’ve seen enough in the past, all the homophobic jokes and censorship/changing storyline in those adaptation make me not liking any Korean or Chinese BL until now ☠️. But like we know, Keiyaku is not much on romance so I can’t wait 😇 hopefully we will see each other on Keiyaku page later.

Right I was interested in the drama since it was announced before I even like Utsukare lol I originally came from crime/investigation type of drama too I just only make MDL acc for Utsukare which was one of very few romance I’ve been watching since I only like Crime genre. I feel like I will like Keiyaku but since it’s so different from Utsukare, I doubt it will help me move on 🤣 as for Keiyaku final relationship I just hope they let it open since manga is ongoing and NOT forcing some hetero endgame for us lol

Haha I mean to see them end up together in the manga one day 😆 I’m also pretty sure the drama will open their relationship for viewer’s interpretation in the end and most of the plot will be about the crime/mystery aspect of the story. Like you said, the manga is ongoing so I wonder how will the story of drama conclude.

Thank you for giving us some idea of the story, Kino San. I was hesitant to try this series at first because the whole bromance with gay bait vibe I’m getting after I read chapter 1. But to know it’s more of mystery/crime Jdrama, I’m sold and I will be watching this once it’s available because I’m interested in the two main actor too 🤚🏻 At the same time I also hope the two main characters would be together one day.

Lol I feel you, I do watch a few BL in a year back then and now but I can’t call myself BL fan since I only watch Jdrama ones, I pretty much don’t see it as separate genre but as any other romance Jdrama I come across. I think you might similar to me that you can only be attached/obsessed to one show at a time so maybe try other Jdrama BL later when you are not too focus on Utsukare 😂 (but I agree that Utsukare is one of the best I’ve watched tho despite being mini drama)

Yes, they usually get license for story that has vocal fandom recommending them. The more request the more chance for novel to get translated and published
