2 endings (one in episode 39 and the other in episode 40. I suppose one is happier than the other for the Man Leads. Sort of an open happy ending in both for the leads.
I've seen many clips from Yuoku about this drama, but they always list it as a 2022 drama and their videos on Tiktok and Youtube make it seem like it is already out (and completed), but they haven't released any of it!! When are they going to release this drama?
I actually liked all of the characters, other than the older sect sister. Even A Fu didn't annoy me much. This so the first time I am reading through the comments, bad no idea so many people hated his charecter. He got everthing that was coming for him in episode 35. I also really liked the immortal story arc. I liked how we had 13 episodes of the Mortal arc and then a completely different arc, it was a nice change. And I love that we slowly got to love Lou Ge and accept that he is also Lu Li whilst he also started to accept it. This drama had a nice pace, though I wanted to see more of the God of Moonlight and a lot more of Black Moonlight, I love how Black Moonlight wore God of Moonlight's clothes. I just did not understand the 2 episode ending. Episode 39 and 40 seem to have completely different plots that don't corelate, which is my only issue with the drama. I prefer the ending of episode 39 despite losing He Na.
I don't understand episode 39 and 40. They don't seem to correlate. There seems to be two endings, though I prefer the ending from episode 39, I hate that He Na had to die, but the ending from episode 40 means a lot of other people have to do. Does anyone understand why their seems to be 2 endings? And what it means, I have never been so confused by the ending of a drama.
What was with this pathetic ending? Not even sad, just pathetic. I wanted her to go down fighting, she deserved to go down fighting, not this! Not to mention Wang Yue's ending! I mean at least he is alive, but he's just sucked into a void to his realm after we find out his not just a normal demon, within the span of a minute.
I didn't like this drama, but it is one of those dramas that are so bad that it's kind of good. The main leads had no chemistry whatsoever and I did not ship them which is why i did not want a happy ending for them. In fact for the majority of the drama I found their relationship disturbing because it was a romance between a father figure/ teacher and his spoiled daughter/ student. The FL genuinely seemed like a child (a 30+ year old child who has lived 2 lives), which made the ML seem like a very disturbing man.
The only character that kept we watching until the end was Wang Yue. He was the only interesting charecter in this drama and I was rooting for him to succeed until the very end. The Fl also had a lot more chemistry with him and litterally all the other charecters than she did with the ML.
I was so happy with this season, especially with the last episode when i thought it would start going downhill. I also love that they got together, which this type of drama, you never really know if the couple will get together but they did and I was so HAPPY.
I loved everything about the drama, the cast, outfits, CGI, script and especially the MUSIC. All the sound effects and background music were PERFECT, the buildup with just the music, the music for the "evil", more so badass scenes, and than the romantic scenes etc. It was amazing.
I loved everything about the drama. Unlike a lot of costume dramas, this one had a good revenge storyline as well. I loved that she killed the Void King, destroyed everyone who got in her way and became the ruler of the Void. I loved her revenge of the Heavenly Emperor, I like that she didn't take his life because he did redeem himself at the end. And I LOVED the open happy ending. The Twins will revive soon, hopefully with their memories, even without, they will somehow get it back, so I was very happy with the ending. No more animosity, and all the right people became the rulers whilst the Male Leads were free to be with the ones they loved.
I watched this a long time ago and dropped it, but I just realised most of the main characters from The Starry Love are also on this drama. I didn't find this drama memorable at all, but I loved them in The Starry Love.
Thinking back to this, there was some lazy writing. One example, Hei Lam is the reincarnation of Roy's deceased…
I thought at first he forgot what she looked like which would make sense as it has been 200 years. But then later he said he just thought they looked alike. If they had just made it so that he only vaguely remembered how she looked and only realised it was her after going through her memories, then it would have made more sense.
I litterally never looked at the poster properly after all these years. I only noticed the way he looked at her, had to do a double take after this comment.
I love that they were both immortals at the end of the series. I have never seen an East Asian drama where the immortal either doesn't die or become mortal at the end to be with the love interest. I love that they both get to be together for a really LONG time.
I honestly preferred this drama over Maid's Revenge. This actually had more of a plot than Maid's Revenge did, the only thing I did not like is how the ML wasn't in several episodes if the drama and that we didn't get to see more of the leads together romantically, which is honestly okay because we got to see both leads have good character development as they both go about getting revenge their separate ways before coming together for their revenge. They had good chemistry and it wasn't cringe at all, not to mention the HEA, I am so happy that it had a happy ending, a bit rushed but satisfying as they got their revenege and happy ending.
This drama had a nice pace, though I wanted to see more of the God of Moonlight and a lot more of Black Moonlight, I love how Black Moonlight wore God of Moonlight's clothes.
