I love Ma Song Goo so much and he is not my usual type at all :P I love his poker face, funny sarcastic remarks…
I like him very much as well. I think he’s my favorite character in this show. I like the way he’s chill with helping out both guys even when his advice sometimes misses the mark. :D
First let me say, I love Rom-Com and historical parodies... For example: I absolutely adore My Sassy Girl (2017),…
I’m glad you let others know about the profanity. I’ve never watched a Kdrama that had it to this extent so I was quite shocked. I also got a glimpse of the vulgarity from episode 2 when that guy was talking about doing such and such a thing to tits which turned me off the show immediately. Yuck! That was enough for me to stop watching it despite the fact that neither episode pulled me into the story. The girl was just too noisy for my taste.
The last episode really did feel pointless. From the preview I can see that there is angst on the way. I feel like the relationship is at a standstill.
I think it's like a link, Suzy activate Jong Suk's dream while Jong Suk's activate the policeman's…
I'm also wondering if the policeman has a link to the soldier. Even before Jae Chan met Suzy's character, his father was killed by the soldier. The soldier died afterwards with Suzy's father. So I'm wondering if something happened in the past with the soldier too and the policeman or is it just because he was saved by Jae Chan and Suzy is the real trigger.
I've only seen him in Ten Miles Peach Blossoms but I can say that he truly impressed me with his acting as both YeHua and Mo Yuang. His acting has a lot of depth. I still can't believe how well he acts with his eyes. I could actually see the turmoil, sadness, grief, determination, etc in his eyes so naturally. No overacting at all. Quite natural portrayals. Thank you for doing a post on this amazing actor.
Besides the romance, is this drama about brothers fighting over a throne? I watched the first episode and wasn't sure if I wanted to continue because I just don't feel like watching another fight among brothers for a throne.
I cry a lot in drama once the stories and characters touch me. Family dramas have a way of doing that a lot of the times too. I remember crying a lot when I watched Angel Eyes, All About Mom, Winter Sonata, The Princess' Man, Gu Family Book, etc to the point of developing a headache and sore eyes. Oh, and of course, during the ending episodes of Ten Miles Peach Blossoms.
I would have liked this drama much better if the villainous couple didn't have so much screen time. They actually seemed to have more scenes than all the other characters. Otherwise than that, Yang Xue was the best part of it. I love the other two males too but I guess I'm selfish because I think the prince should have put the interests of his family first.
Excellent drama for me too. I particularly loved the characters Shi-Mok and Yeo-Jin for different reasons. The most interesting character for me was the chief prosecutor from beginning to end.
I like the character Shen Luo but the actress is not that good. Her crying never convinces me and so many actresses in Asian drama that I've watched could at least do that much. I often think they excel at crying very well but Shen Luo's actress failed at this for me.
I watched most of these but to me the best historical Chinese drama that I've watched is Nirvana in Fire. It has a little romance but even that was compelling because it added to the sorrow of all that the central figure of the story had lost. It was a deeply stirring story that was well acted all around.
I don't ship celebrities at all. I think it's hard for their relationships to work with their busy schedules. Also, they meet other people all the time and sometimes I feel that for those who fall in love on the set it can mean that they were caught up in the many hours they spent together on the set. Of course there are sometimes exceptions because there are some celebrities who got married and are still going strong.
I started watching this after reading your article and I like it. I have to admit that I found the starting episodes a bit boring until the guy from the past showed up. I'm not a person who really enjoy self-centered characters but somehow this guy makes me like him. I'd like to see more of the four friends together.
I watched it on iheartdrama.tv. The adblocker did it's job and the episode played well.
Thanks SUNNY for the link. I kept looking for a website but couldn't find any with the episode.
I watched the first episode on Viki but what I didn't realize is the Jin Dong's character is dating the best friend so I feel uncomfortable about this whole setup.
I'm so glad I chose to go into this drama not trusting anyone at all except Shi-mok and eventually YJ who won me over when she insisted that she could not turn a blind eye to the beating her colleagues gave to PMS' son. But for all the others, I decided not to get attached because everybody seemed corrupt or had hidden agendas. In hindsight I'm glad I made that choice because I can better appreciate how much I like the writing on this show. No emotional betrayals will influence my enjoyment and judgment here.
