It's not mindless at all. It's simply relaxing. I like how delicately they touch sensitive subjects like sexuality,…
Mindless as in not angsty, not as a criticism. A drama that does not tax my poor heart very much, in other words. The way it touches some of these topics is very sensitive and gentle, nothing is hitting me over the head and demanding my attention to 'do something' or worry about anyone overly much. VERY likeable characters :D
The idea that it is an another dimension is pretty interesting and in terms of science fiction could provide a…
Actually that's a very marginal opinion, probably said because you didn't like the ending. It got rave critical reviews, was very well received and had enough popularity to get an American remake as well as this one. Just because you don't like a show does not make it bad LOL
The character of Jin Ah is not strong. Not strong at first, not strong after she says her boy got her to 'be strong'. She's damn doormat to the wrong people, and purely selfish in many ways (like, honey, deciding to hurt the man you love because you are tired of the drama OTHER people are putting you thru?) and she flat out explained that to the sister who was SUPPOSEDLY her BFF. This can't be explained away by citing 'cultural differences' considering I've met people (usually women) like this here in the US. It's a PERSONALITY problem. She's incapable of really standing up for herself except with people she knows are supportive of her. Oh, yay. I mean LOOK at the two bookend A$$hats she gets as BFs before & after Joon Hee???? I felt no sympathy for her at all. Gag me. I mean, yeah, she gets a clue finally, but the last two episodes left a very sour taste in my mouth.

WTF??? OMG.
I guess your English is not very good after all. Let me write simply. Your first post - I agree with you, but Science fiction is a different type of fiction from fantasy. This doesn't change your point at all. Try to understand. I am simply ADDING to your own ideas.
MY English is EXCELLENT - I'm a high-level educated English speaker, hold several degrees in literature and language (English, French), TAUGHT English literature and ESL. My Korean is beginner level. Ok??? I'm AMERICAN.

I guess you didn't read the part where I said I agreed with most of your post & thought you were right for the most part. I'm so tired of dealing with this kind of thing. Are you upset because I just pointed out the difference between fantasy and science fiction? I'm not arguing, you know. I'm just stating plain facts about robotics and the science of artificial intelligence, plus the history of robots in science fiction. I have absolutely no idea if we ever will be able to discern the difference between a robot/AI that thinks independently and knows what feelings are/how to mimic them versus real feelings. I wasn't stating any opinion about whether that's possible or not. What I was SAYING is that this is a very common theme in science fiction (the idea if one CAN do it) and problems this will bring once androids have been perfected to the point that they do look, talk, act like human beings. Will they really feel? I don't KNOW. If you think that 100 years is the far future, great. But really you should check out the strides in AI computers & robots. Making one that can FOOL a human into thinking it's a real person is not that far away. Really feeling, that's different.
I don't think she was actually hired to be a bodyguard to the robot more of a companion, as explained it many…
Maybe because she knows he's made of TITANIUM & a wrench isn't going to harm him anymore than throwing one at a CAR will? Of course marring that perfect face is criminal....LOL
I have a feeling that NS will be the person who activates the kill switch. He's currently the only person who…
I think he'll TRY to activate it.... But no, I doubt seriously that the kill switch is ever activated. Who knows where the writers will go with this...
'Ello~! My English is not the best, so I apologize in advance. I've read lots of comments above and I saw people…
Americans are, or should be, VERY used to science fiction, including androids (as well as fantasy of course). As I've said elsewhere, androids/AI's that can actually mimic the way the human brain works (which does include feelings - scientists generally don't bother about 'souls') are being researched RIGHT THIS MOMENT. We aren't anywhere near this level yet, but still, science fiction deals with probability & cutting edge research extrapolated to the future. Very likely this will become a real issue at some time within the next 100 years. Whereas vampires, werewolves, etc will not. However, I agree with your post. These writers ARE dealing with that whole question of 'what makes a human'. Frankenstein, or A Modern Prometheus first did this using artificial humans. So this theme has quite a long history in Western literature. Why so many posters treat it as a'strange' or 'weird' baffles me. In fact it's quite a common one. I think this is done beautifully so far, and it certainly is a great showcase for Seo Kang Jun!
I do like this so far - mindless little romantic drama, sort of like Evergreen. If I don't think about it, I won't care about all the cliches and the fact that I can see what's going to happen 2 episodes before it does.... BUT Are there no thrift shops in Korea? And WHY would one throw out videos of yourself as a CHILD, especially when your parents are gone???? That makes NO sense at all! Taking pictures of the VIDEO boxes is NOT 'keeping' the damn memories LOL
This year seems to just have a huge number of incredibly good dramas, all genres! This one is right up there, along with the LAST one our lead guy was in (My Mister) ! Loved this start to finish :D
Just a thought here: have you realized how they keep coming up with the thing about 'what if NS III was human'????…
Well, if mom has been transferring memories from one AI to a new one, then theoretically could do the same from robot to human... I was thinking this might happen if human Nam Shin had permanent brain damage, but then he woke up...
Right!!! Seo Kang Joon's robot is far more attractive (don't even find Jiro attractive at all to be honest) and…
Oh, I STILL have Jiro as the Night 3000 (or whatever) as my phone background. I DO find him super hot. But this young man is as well, and the acting job he's putting in is amazing!!!
oh my goodness - there are so many replies lol!!! but i love reading about the different opinions!!!i didn't say…
I'm torn about a relationship between a realistic, thinking, sentient AI & a young human woman. It presents lots of difficulties. Asimov writes about this very thing in I Robot (do not confuse the film - which was a distorted look at maybe the 1st 2 or 3 chapters, with the book BTW) I'm a romantic tho! I love our Shin III & am all for them being a couple no matter the problems LOL
There’s no such robot out there that is like Nam Shin III, we still have a LONG way to go before we reach something…
There's not a robot like him. Yet. But scientists are working on it. I do know quite a bit about robotics & computers (not as a researcher/scientist BTW) - I'm fascinated with the whole subject & love to watch all the videos of the latest ones. Some of them are completely uncanny. That's why I feel we really aren't that far away from making something like Shin III (or at any rate the robot in "i'm Not a Robot"). But absolutely it doesn't matter for the story if it's even possible. It's the idea of 'what makes us human'. Frankenstein, or a Modern Prometheus (by Mary Shelley) had the very same theme (which is why I mentioned it in another post...) I would love it if androids like this become real in the next 25 years LOL How cool that would be...
