Oh the ignorance rampant on this message board, I laugh. This is a remake of a remake of a classic French book written in the 1700s. SOME of us know exactly what's going on - I am delighting in the way these writers are adapting all the subplots into this one. Not for kids so all the children should just go to bed now....

Actually, no. It's a remake of Cruel Intentions, which was a modernization of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Now, Gossip Girls did indeed borrow lots of things from Cruel Intentions, but the PLOT in this KDrama has definitely got all the elements of the original French play, except the main players are all very young.

He was exonerated so your problems with him says more about your acceptance of the legal system. He's always had these same mannerisms.
I am completely in agreement about Seo Hyun and the way she and her boy were just ruthlessly shoved aside and basically written off!!! I was more invested in their little romance than the other two (not that I disliked the others) and to have it just pushed aside after 40 odd episodes of teasing viewers, INFURIATES me!

Although I don't share your opinion about either the 2 main couples nor the father, I'm with you about Choi Seo Hyun & Seo Ji Ho - I was SCREAMING at my TV over that! I know these writers got lazy a couple times in the series over non-essential elements, but THIS one! Teasing us for 40 or so episodes with this delightful little couple only to just dismiss it with this idiotic little scene!!!/???? OMG !!!
And you are right - those parents (WHY are they back together???) still sending her off to her arranged marriage? WTF! & where did baby bro find that convenient little girl? Why does he have a bakery that's not associated with either his sister Ji Soo's or the ahjussi's???? WTF is THAT all about?
Nope nope nope nope. I've been all about those two kids' little journey to romance for the last 10-20 episodes - to just pull the rug out like that was inane.

She IS like Kristin Stewart - who BTW can indeed act when given a competent director!

I didn't find the last episodes boring - I found them MADDENING. Grandpa was a nasty old sociopath who did NOT deserve a good ending, and those 2 sister OMG! Evil Mom was bad enough but that poisonous sister of hers made me just want to slap her every time I saw her!
As for Baby Bro & Cinderella, EXCUSE ME???? WTF was that all about???? SO furious about that stupidity!
At least we definitely got DK & JA getting back together - thank goodness. So the ending was ok.

Really? Where does the production look low quality here? In Hwayugi the ONLY time I winced at the CGI was the dragon, which happened towards the end - & I so didn't care by that point. This one, ??? I haven't the smallest clue what you mean.

Considering that My Secret Romance, little mindless fluffy thing that it was, maintained it's charm & ability to whisk me away on it's bubbles of cuteness right up till the end, I've not a clue exactly when you thought it got boring or draggy, but whatever. If this is as consistent at making me feel good as MSR, I'm totally happy it's airing!

What exactly about his acting is contrary to the character he is playing? In what way precisely has he performed the lines written for him in a way that makes his dialogue seem unrealistic for that character? Let's be specific.

Just, MUCH more invested in seeing baby bro get together w/his Cinderella at this point. Ji An is being SUCH a damn bitch, & using her father dying as an excuse (or rather, using evil Grandpa as an excuse to turn her grief into anger against Do Kyung) is just nasty. What has he done' for her? Really???? Most of what he did for her was when she was living as Eun Seok, of course, but still what an IGNORANT thing to say! & DK just swallows it whole, I swear :(

I agree with much of what you say, & I do applaud this drama for bringing this out in the open.
I'm outing the writers for 2 things - one, how in the WORLD did her prospective employers find out about her doctor visit in the first place, & two - she's not even expected to show up for 2 weeks to the new job, I do believe. If they'd had her going to a physical for the new job (often a requirement in the US even), or if she HAD requested medical leave, then I'd not have a quibble. Oh, except it takes a while for such disorders to truly manifest, let alone get diagnosed - I should know, I'm retired Navy & PTSD is a big problem in the military. She's supposedly developing this & getting diagnosed with 2 days LOL It is simply lazy writing.

I simply do not agree with you. Ji An has absolutely no room to complain here - plus having an evil grandfather hardly makes Do Kyung horrible. Let's look at how baby bro deals with this - oh yeah he wants to RESCUE his Cinderella.... So it's only the guys who have evil parents that have to be avoided?
I do fear you've nailed the ending - I absolutely HATE endings like that - I despise putting 50 hours into a drama where the OTP can't get together or where you just don't know! GAG - I get enough of that kind of depressing idiocy in real life. Do NOT need it in dramas!

Hwayugi was excellent - and the biggest problem with both Black & Black Knight were that the writers had no clue how to end their dramas. Of course the Hong sisters did know, LOL

Quite the opposite here because I adored My Secret Romance - it was a perfect balance of sweet fluff, pretty, and a bit of substance. This is looking similar and I'm already really enjoying it :D

Through out the airing of this drama, and reading the comments as it aired, & the ones about it's finish - all I can think is how little people seem to know the source material, and more importantly all the MANY films etc it inspired! Most of those do NOT have some 'happy joy joy' fairy tale ending LOL That's not how the story works at ALL. It is about enlightenment and redemption - which this drama certainly incorporated! I actually half-expected a much more tragic ending and am delighted with the hopeful thought that Son Oh Gong is off to kick butt in the Underworld! Plus Ma Wang getting rid of his wife's punishment & finding his kid :D In fact the ONLY thing I wish hadn't happened was the death of the Eastern Sea Prince. I understand the poignancy of his sacrifice, but :( Still, that and our adorable zombie girl (who was going to disappear ie get burnt, that was INEVITABLE) did indeed teach our Pig Demon a lot about responsibility. Again, that is the kind of thing found throughout Journey to the West so is totally true to the source.

HA! No, the Hong sisters have NOT lost their touch at all! This was BRILLIANT - just loved it. Absolutely true to it's source material till the end, while still giving us this fabulous modern fairy tail! Of course, if it really was Chinese it would have ended at episode 19 LOL LOL LOL but thank goodness we have hope, love & the thought of our Monkey King making mayhem in the Underworld LOL
Plus Ma Wang found his kid :D & freed his wife from her punishment - that was satisfying.
