I despise this kind of ageist, sexist thing. Good grief. 5 years, 10 years, who CARES? Guys have been getting girls young enough to be their DAUGHTERS for years on screen - it's OUR turn now! Get OVER it! Besides, if the characters LOOK the same age, it's no problem. I do believe in this one Sung Joon is only about 6 years younger (the characters, not the actors) & that is very believeable.

You do realize that Min Ho has already lost the only thing he ever cared about - his love & his son - by the end of episode 17? That's his punishment. Oh, & also he's now outed AS Min Ho. I'm totally satisfied right now.

Hardly accurate. This drama definitely does not drag at all. Although I agree, watching too much in one genre can get overwhelming.

I do believe you need to do a bit better to explain your position if you want anyone to understand or agree with you. This show is well worth the hype. I've not seen one so taut & suspenseful with totally logical progression since 2 Weeks. Every episode has lots packed into it, without losing it's veracity or inner rationale. Your dislike seems to stem from your own inability to follow a multi-faceted drama, not any fault of the writers. If you hate complicated dramas (although this really doesn't compare to some I've seen - like Secret or Signal - for plot twists) then fine. But that's just your own taste.

I know. The one thing I'm still curious about - did Min Ho's murderous inner self not emerge until 6 years previously when he lost her to his brother? Seems unlikely...

I feel your statement was ageist and illogical. Sorry. That actress does not look her age at all. Why you think she looks haggard is beyond understanding. Obviously most of Korea begs to differ.

There's so much they could have done - yes, the mystery of research & treasure hunts (please, just dump the tired old 'evil professor/chaebol crap) & in the past the saga of how she became a painter & managed to raise 7 children as well - I don't have a problem with the idea of a tragic love story but OMG I'm over the entire sageuk crap, and the writers are so far basically IGNORING her PAINTING! I'm with the Prince - begging her to puleeze paint! Every week I wonder if it's the week I will drop this :(

Are you nuts? That woman is drop dead gorgeous - does NOT look dowdy, never has & I daresay never will. How ridiculous. You wouldn't know this at all if you couldn't look up their ages! Honey, you are aging just like the rest of us, & I'm SURE you can't hold a candle to Lee Young Ae & never will, no matter her age or yours! LOL LOL LOL

This episode had so many heart-wrenching moments!!!

Infiniti512 - I'd agree with you on a lot of Korean cop dramas, although it reflects a big problem there (here too, here being the US). However, in THIS drama I don't. I think that the FATHER could have been caught in his corruption, & that henchman of his who protected psycho son as well - but the mad boy himself? He got away for a long time the same way real serial killers do - victims mainly random & his normal persona being one no one at all suspects.
Now if Daddy Dearest had been caught then of course the boy would have lost that protection...

Considering I have NO idea why you ever thought it boring in the first place, who KNOWS if you'd think it got better!!!! I on the other hand think it's been a stellar suspense drama from the first!

So far Defendant is on a par with Two Weeks - although I think Two Weeks may end up being tighter due to the added episodes here. I Hear Your Voice, different than this in several ways (ie Two Weeks is very much in the same vibe) so harder to compare. I did enjoy it. I'm loving this one, Ji Sung having lots to do with that.

I really enjoyed this drama ALL the way thru nor did I think like so many others that the first part sucked at all! So nope, don't agree nor understand. It's an adorable light-hearted little bit of fluff.

The wife was looking for that homeless guy - putting 2 & 2 together about the disappearance of these guys coinciding w/their employment at the bus company. THAT'S why she was killed
